    There's something so calming about watching someone work without any talking ... Hearing the birds sing while you made the flaxseed gel was just lovely! Sometimes it's nice when people credit you with enough intelligence to know what's going on without having to narrate everything. Although your voice is really soothing anyway!

    I can totally relate to the need for stillness after activity. I have yet to meet a man who will understand and accept this, so I have been single for a long time. But I know now not to attempt to compromise this part of me. It's an absolute need if I am going to be my best self.

    I'm also an avid bookworm, reading brings so much joy (though also annoys my mother when I carry on about whatever I am reading for like 20 minutes, like trapped in the car with me yesterday while I carried on about The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore for most of the car ride), a hot bath is also soothing, I like to bake a lot, I crochet

    I’m a people person BUT I fully recognize my need to have time to myself... it’s like I need to put the world on hold so that I can sift through all the constant thoughts, ideas, and plans that are whirring around in my brain like laundry in the spin cycle of a washing machine. Other things that make me a better person are cuddling a living being for a few minutes everyday, yoyoing to great music (very creative and relaxing), and like you, Immy, I indulge myself in reading, walking, an uninterrupted cup of good java, and also for me... sewing. Loved this uplifting video and hearing about your flowstate activities and self-care moments. PS - no sweat about missing your Tuesday video (we all got by and we know that sometimes life just takes over.). PPS - Yes to “Atomic Habits” video please. PPPS - you’re looking fitter and stronger every month... you’re rocking it girl!!

    I replenish my resources by being alone (or with husband or best friend). Preparing food slowly is one of my self-care rituals too. Reading, definitely. Morning and evening cuddles with my husband. Loving my cat until he gets a good purr going. Taking care of hair, skin. Hot chocolate with soya milk. Getting enough sleep.

    Yes please make a video about how to build structures that supports your goals! And yes, now after the burnout I have come to understand how draining social activities can be, or I have come to understand that I need time to process and digest it all! Because it isn't just draining I do get things things out from it but the more impressions the more fileing work for my brain afterwards. Take care!

    I totally understand what you mean about being around people. Sometimes I need to just curl up and watch a movie, show or even RUclips. I do have to say that one of my biggest guilty pleasures as far as self care goes is goong out to eat. I love eating out but its not always the most economical. Also this might seem like a weird one but brushing my hair after I shower is just super relaxing for me. Great video! Love the different angles and perspectives you used! ✌❤🌎

    If you want to make a much smaller batch you can use a mesh sachet and a small jar or shot glass half full of warm water and the gel forms in minutes. The process is very similar to making a nut-milk but without blending.

  • @apartmentcopacabanario863

    Dear, reading is no doubt very good, either to relax, to know more, to forget about ourselves for the minute, but it is really different from meditation which purpose is to actually quiet the mind and have no thoughts whatsoever. But sure it is not for everybody and that is ok 💖

    • @marycharlebois6627
      @marycharlebois6627 4 года назад +1

      I am not that knowledgeable about meditation but I try to do it every morning for 7 minutes. For me, being still is a bit of a challenge, but what I really struggle with is having no thoughts at all. I just can’t seem to isolate my brain from thoughts and/or ideas... maybe I just have a noisy mind.

    • @apartmentcopacabanario863

      @@marycharlebois6627 that is the challenge of all of us when meditating, but here is a beauty of it, to see that we are not our mind, but only an observer.

Somewhere I came across a review of this book and... after tossing it around in my brain for a while I remembered that the review is right here on Immy’s channel. She gives it a thumbs up recommendation in the video “RLLW: Books, Podcasts, Drawing and MInnie Small” (26 Oct 2018). I hope this is helpful to you. Happy reading, and have a great weekend.

      @@136Jstar Hi again, I would be curious to know what you think of the book. It looks like a fairly quick read. If I recall correctly both Immy and her sister thought it was excellent. It’s 20 below here (🇨🇦) this morning so it’s going to be a good day for reading.

    • @136Jstar
      @136Jstar 4 года назад +1

      I’ve just finished it. I found it very interesting looking at the mental health aspect as well as it being an important historical document. It was very personal and traumatic to think what people went through in concentration camps. I did find a lot of his ideas around logo therapy very useful.
