Haytham was absolutley right, assassins need firm indoctrination to exist, Templars merely need to see the world as it is, to know that freedom for the fallen species of man is folly. The Templars up until before the industrial revolution are far superior to the assassins in goals and purpose. It's the industrial revolution that really brought out the worst in both creeds: Templars seizing control and suppressing humanity to the point of wage slavery (Templars strive to better society and give them peace, not needlessly accumulate power like the modern Templars; this was illustrated case and point by Francois Germain) and assassins siding with chaos and anarchy, which leads to death, idiocracy and mob rule (the assassins siding with bolsheviks is case and point).

Okay so it’s a shame haytham didn’t kill Connor when he found out he was an assassin which isn’t in keeping with Templar ideals, but it’s a pity when Connor didn’t show his dad mercy, how does that make sense
When Connor was fighting with his father he said "surrender now and I'll spare you." Then Haytham said his little speech to Connor and then puts him in a chokehold. In order to kill him.
It makes sense: at the end of the day as a templar he should’ve killed Conner, he failed at his job. Despite that he’s still a templar, why would a member of his organization not pity Haytham for getting killed by his son? Especially when he spared his son earlier.
In forsaken there are many attempts made by connor to have his father surrender peacefully which failed. At that point in time haytham closed his heart and simply tried to kill his son due to the orders doctrine. @@diezeeshoodie What's interesting is that if you listened in on the coversation between Achilles and Adéwale in the beginning of Rogue, the game hints at you that the same earthquake that happened at Lisbon happened at Haiti. Achilles ignored the fact that no survivors besides Adé himself were present after the expedition to find the piece of eden on Port-au-Prince. Instead he desprately wanted to have higher power than the templars above all else, thus his dismissive behaviour towards Adé's well being. It took Achilles 3 earthquakes to figure out "hey, we probably shouldn't mess with these artifacts that can kill millions of people in a large radius." That's because you barely paid any attention to storyline, just take a look at what templars do in this series. They enslave others, kill innocents for their own profit, steals food from the poor, and all of that to enslave all mankind by controlling their mind with piece of eden. So tell me, how the fuck are they the "good guys"?
Since AC:V will take place in Viking times and Layla (who is totally mindfucked by the staff by now) kidnabbed Juhani at the end of DLC2, we'll hopefully see more of his badassery in the modern part of the game.
When I was younger, I used to really side with the Assassin Brotherhood since I do believe in their creed and they are full of badasses. Nowadays, I prefer to look at both sides from the perspective of their strengths and weaknesses. Freedom vs. Order. That is the very essence of these games. The Assassins were at times far too short-sighted with their actions since they just keep assassinating despots while not actively addressing the root of the problem: Human Nature. As for the Templars, they usually see the folly of Humans but the methods they use in achieving absolute peace is immoral and forced. Those are just a few examples. If I was in this Universe, I will follow my own path whether I am an assassin, templar, or anything else. I will learn from the philosophies of both sides and use the parts I see fit. Edit: Besides, I am not really a fan of institutions or groups since they have the potential to become corrupted over time.
You and I are on the same page with that one. I believe the assassin's creed is essential but the order itself is impractical, they act like the Templars are the source of all evil in humanity when there are people committing much worse crimes, but the assassins take no action against them or make any effort to prevent such things from happening again. As much as I understand and to an extent agree with the Templars view on human nature, their plans are too dangerous to become reality. As you said, every group is susceptible to corruption or fanaticism and both orders are no exception. Let's say genuinely well-meaning Templars get a piece of Eden, take control and make a utopia, how long before the power goes to their heads? How long before they make a mistake and endanger everyone? How can humanity progress if everyone's too docile to think for themselves? If I was brought into the assassins or Templars, I'd most likely go renegade.
i actually believe templars make more sense but assassins are just like meh let's just do what we want but templars have the idea of order and because of assassins juno even got the chance to almost be free
Assassins protect the evolution and free will of the people. Templars ideology means well, but it is wrong to control how one thinks even if it's for the greater good.
I agree with the templars' pessimistic view of human nature and why they should be guided but stripping them of their free will by using the pieces of eden is immoral and unjustified. Not to mention most templars we have seen in the franchise did not wish to enforce control and order but to use the pieces of eden to give themselves power over those who are vulnerable and weak. The only templars I truly respect are Haytham, Shay and King Aelfred from Valhalla because they were the few templars who had a sense of dignity and honour.
Yeah Birch got close to the Kenways (the end credit scene of Black Flag shows him meeting them) and became something of a family friend until Edward discovered he was a Templar. Then Birch led an attack on the Kenway manor where Edward died and Jennifer was kidnapped. Haytham was the only one left and Birch took him in and raised him to be a Templar.
Irish Bug still its not legal to hide things from your bosses. (And i know hr killed his mentor forgot his name anyway he killed him for his father and it still makes him a traitor in a way
Jens Bols ex OVJ No, like, the mentor was hiding the artifact. If the central HQ of the Templar Order didn't know where it was, hint the meeting, and somehow Birch had it, that was a hint that Birch wasn't going protocol. Killing him because of revenge was just a side bonus.
At this point I dont even know who is right "Templer" or " the Assassins"... or do I? cause both sides has their own approach for what they both believe is right Well Assassins are shown as the lead protogonist for most part yet they also were "NEVER" completely #true...to their ideals... Contradictions...but Templer seems they never really take in serious of 'Isu' threats...which has always been contended by the Assassins...
At times the Templars approach is the best, at others, the Assassins. This is Fate of Atlantis in Odyssey pretty much concludes this is the only way the world can survive
I believe that in regards to original ideals of both sides, it's pretty easy: the Assassin's are right and the Templars wrong, assuming that we all consider free will as a fundamental principle that must be protected. Templars want to supress that free will in order to achieve "peace", which I believe is morally unnacceptable, therefore, it makes them wrong. Now, another thing, is that within both orders, there have been good and bad people. After all, they're made of humans, and humans are different. There are Templars that are better people than some Assassin's that are a**holes. In regards to the organizations and their ideals, the Assassin's are "the good guys" while the Templars are "the bad guys"... but there can be good people among the bad guys, and evil people among the good guys
@@vicentediez452 If you think that an assassin who murders dozens of people because they disagree with his ideals can be considered a "good guy" by any stretch of the imagination then you missed the whole point of the overarching story in this franchise. None of these groups can EVER be considered as being "good", there is no "good guys" in their war. It's just that there has to be a balance. Any action (complete order and peace, even by force for example) will have a reaction (extremists like the assassins who want none of that because they believe "free will" is the only thing separating humans from mere animals). It's just two groups of extremists fighting each other, no place for good guys here. The good guys are those who are changing the world WITH the people agreeing with them, not those who murder opponents to silence them, neither those who want to enslave humanity to preserve peace and order.
@@alinpetrescu2309 the assassins aren’t anarchist. They just don’t agree that a persons free will should be removed. I agree that there should be some order obviously. But the templars never ever stop even when they have control over the people to an extent. They believe in peace through the peoples freedoms and free will. While educating them that free will is valuable and that they should run society so it is not threatened but not without laws.

@@starfruitified3456 You're absolutely right. Achilles was ignorant and his ignorance towards the well-being of his students caused him a great loss!
That's because you barely paid any attention to storyline, just take a look at what templars do in this series. They enslave others, kill innocents for their own profit, steals food from the poor, and all of that to enslave all mankind by controlling their mind with piece of eden. So tell me, how the fuck are they the "good guys"?
kenway family is the most twisted family in AC
Since AC:V will take place in Viking times and Layla (who is totally mindfucked by the staff by now) kidnabbed Juhani at the end of DLC2, we'll hopefully see more of his badassery in the modern part of the game.
That is a thought. I completely forgot about that
Hmm
'Vali cel Tradat'? In romanian that means 'Vali the betrayed' lol
Well he was Wallachian
Abstergo, what about Lucy Stillman?
We don't talk about her here...
She's a woman :v
Beautiful.
I like Duncan Walpoles outfit
It's later become edward's outfit
i actually believe templars make more sense but assassins are just like meh let's just do what we want but templars have the idea of order and because of assassins juno even got the chance to almost be free
Sooo edward kenway killed by a grandmaster of templar reginald birch INTERESTING
So haytham killed his mentor doesn that make him a traitor at some point actually
I believe Haytham did the right thing. His book, Forsaken, further explains it.
Well, he did hide the artifact from the Templar Order. It was really Haytham's job to carry out the deal.
Well after killing Birch then I'm pretty sure the Templar overlooked this cause y'know Haytham has considerable influence within the order.
Cesare borgia is everywhere Francesco de pazzi that captain in ac3 now here
Berg might want to change his mindset now that he’s an honored guest of the Assassins….
With a broken spine? Hardly.
will you make youtube videos on AC chronicles india?
+Gamer Dude yes, I will :)
+Alex68 awesome
At this point I dont even know who is right "Templer" or " the Assassins"... or do I?
cause both sides has their own approach for what they both believe is right
Well Assassins are shown as the lead protogonist for most part yet they also were "NEVER" completely #true...to their ideals...
It’s never enough unless they remove the peoples free will and other freedoms that they believe there’s now “order”. Which is what the assassins are against. They believe in peace through the peoples freedoms and free will. While educating them that free will is valuable and that they should run society so it is not threatened but not without laws.
Im from the brotherhood of assassin's But my fav templar's are Haytham and walpole
Walpole was very brief
there is nothing honourable about walpole
