great looking stand Mark! I'm going to use your build to make one for myself and my Dewalt planer. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this stand and the video
Great idea using the bin that fits under the cart. I have built a similar cart and will utilize the bin idea rather than a big, separate trash can. Im gwetting the same planer soon. I'm not understanding how the dust ends up on the opposite side of your seperator from your hose in-feed. Thank you for the idea. What a space saver!
Excellent presentation Mark... Thank goodness for RUclips! You have added to my ideas with respect to my future DeWalt DW735X thickness planer, the stand, ext. tables along with chip & dust collection... Wonderful design on those fold away castors & the addition of longer ext. tables, effectively giving you 8 feet of support. Very well done... Bill... :-)
That's great the way you've set this up mate, timber can be cheap when you look around & those DeWalt planers have a great blower system to disperse shavings, cheers mate 👍
Really clever idea, especially the infeed and outfeed extensions. Any tips on how to get the height of the infeed and outfeed extensions to be accurate?
No vacuum suction on the sawdust capturing container? I have been having on mind to use conveyor rails, 18 inches wide by above 3 feet long, by using one on each side of my planer, building some sort of table or cabinet. Alternatively, I am thinking about buying the leg units for the two rail pieces. However, since seeing your build, I'm contemplating something similar to get rid of that pesky snipe or, at least, most of it. The rails that have caught my attention advertised on Amazon are not available.
Hey Mark, great design! I have some follow-up questions as I am considering your design for a table top saw I have restored. Did you find the dowel 'hinge', wheels, wheel hinges and single 2X4 was sufficient for supporting the weight of the cart as you rolled it around? I'm considering using 2X2" angle steel and a bolt for the hinge pin assembly, unless you find the wooden counterparts are sufficient. I am also considering using larger hinges for the 'caster board' and locating them as far outboard as possible for support. I would love to know your thoughts almost four years later. Thanks again for the great idea!
How come you didn’t just drill a hole on the far side to let the air out? (With mesh screen to stop chips). I don’t understand how a board in the middle of the bin does anything except make it smaller? And why is there mesh on the other side seems to me it should be on the hose inlet side to work screening off large chips and letting fine dust and air out to other side?
You should make a slot where you could slide a furnace filter above the last screen. Might have to blow it off once in a while but it should eliminate anything getting through
great solution for the snipe and still save space. can use it for short stuff most of the time, but can pull out the big guns for the big timber enjoy your videos :>)
Mark, your design is the best I've seen for a planer. I may try your ideas on my own, thanks.

Super cool. I purchased the same planer and have been looking for a table to make. This is it! Awesome video.

Great video, Mark! I'm planning to build a similar stand for my planer and this was very useful. Love the design of the retractable casters!

Wow, Amazing! I love the folding casters and the support tables! This is inspiring for sure!
Great mobile workspace! Looks like I found the planer table extensions 👍 May try for my own build.
Great video. Thanks for the content! Love the casters!
Some nice design ideas...thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Cheap timber = happiness. :)

The planer Mark is using has a built-in blower to expel the chips, so no vacuum is needed. With other models, maybe, but not this one.

That’s a brilliant build there!! 👍
Nicely done! What if you put a small filter on that piece that overhangs the open bucket?
Great idea on the extensions.

Thank you Russ.
Looks good . !!
I really liked this mobile stand!
Thank you. I am sure I will get plenty of use from it.
Those extensions make the difference.
I need something like this - great job!
Thanks Jimi!
What size flexible hose are you using?
Than you
Excelente 👌
What size hose did you use
Very cool!
Nice work.
Thanks.
That's going to be nice!
really nice standalone design! will use your design if i upgrade my planer in the future. will the box be inefficient if it's underneath the planer?
I'm glad you found it to be useful.
I will be using the box underneath the planer most of the time. I just pulled it out to demonstrate it.
No matter how I just my tables I still get snipe. I have removed my tables and I get 0 snipe. Give it a shot!
