I just wish I could afford a pc so I could actually do rings maps. I hear rings in every video and it makes me feel like that's the only way to help me learn quicker
I remember a year ago there wasn't much people talking about how directional air roll is better / useful. It's interesting to see people adapted towards it slowly overtime. It was definitely worth learning.
Anecdotally, I have seen the exercise point first-hand. When I play any game immediately after getting home from the gym, I am very noticeably better. Better reaction time, focus, and just overall mental clarity.
For me, I can't air roll yet but I do a lot of rings, air roll starts slowly comming to me naturally. I feel the need to make air roll adjustments in game (like to turn or touch the ball differently) and I need to be precise with those movements so I add them to my aerials in rings. Eventually I start learning new adjustments and I am hoping to later bring them all together into 1 air rolling. Still a lot of glue in between is needed (like no air roll flying, I am not nearly good enough). I think I figured out the air rolling to the point that I could explain to others how to think about it. I always knew it was possible when everyone was saying just try and you'll eventually understand
Yo i am a gc2 rn. My tip 4 you on directional air roll is go to the air and hold down air roll and just wiggle your stick in a certain way. Then switch an wiggle another way. It will be hard at first But it forces you to learn
@@joakimheitmann1525 I'm way past this tip, actually today I felt a flow and decided to hold air roll and go through some rings and throw myself off as much as possible and I did manage to complete a few levels. When people who can air roll are asked by beginners how, they always answer that it's too complicated to explain but just go into freeplay and spin and you'll get it, they give the tip you gave me. It's a good tip, it works and tells people what to do. But I think I can actually explain air roll and I think that it is actually not that complicated. Btw I play on keyboard
@@bugoween4787 I'll assume you are complete beginner and don't really understand any spins. Every spin is a combination of adjustments. For example sometimes in the air I want to roll my car a bit to the left, pull my nose down and turn car to the left side. At first I was doing each adjustment separately but then I did them all at the same time (so you put your stick diagonally left while holding air roll right, creating kuxir spin that way) and I got one full air roll adjustment. Every part of the adjustment was aimed separately, had a goal to put my car in a specific position (in opposition to just hold the buttons and see what happens), but done at the same time so it naturally combined into kuxir twist. That is how to think about all the spins. Now the basics to practice before you can learn air roll: - Your goal is to make any kind of adjustments be in your muscle memory. It's when you know what will happen to the car before you make the adjustment. It's the principle of any aerial control because stuff that happens is way faster than your reaction time. - First you need to be good at the very basic type of flying, air rolling only for your car to be front to where it flies. You will learn primary adjustments, boost usage, going up and down and how to handle camera swivels when going in those different directions. You can also learn switching between ball cam and car cam to see better. - Have you ever tried to do anything in the game while your car is upside down/ facing opposite to where you are looking and you did opposite adjustment to the one you wanted? First biggest obstacle in flying is to teach your brain to choose adjustments based of car's position in the air, not where camera is facing. It will trip you over A LOT at the beginning because it's counter intuitive at first. This is called a blackout moment and those will happen all the way until complete air roll mastery. - When you start feeling comfortable with the very basic flying, begin gradually pushing yourself. Air roll a bit later, air roll a bit more, allow your car to be more turned than it's comfortable for you. Eventually you want to be able to turn 180 degree's and fly in the opposite direction. Your ultimate goal is to be able to fly without using air roll at all. It's called 360 aerial control. - You can already start adding some basic spins (way before getting 360 aerial control), do 1 full spin (tornado and kuxir are best for start, then you can add the backwards variations and any other kinds) and then recover. With the basic tools you've got your brain will understand the spins much quicker, you will become able to aim them. Recovery gives you ability to repeat the spin a lot of times. - Congrats! You've built the foundation to start learning air roll! From now on watch a few videos on air roll and follow along! ;)
I just can't fathom the amount of time you took to write such a detailed explanation Thank you so much!! Your explanation makes a lot more sense than all the YT tutorials I've watched so far This'll surely help me Once again, Thanks a ton!
Hey wanted to add something here that will help alot of people out on controller I did not even realize it until now and have not seen too many people talk about it...The main reason I was whiffing the ball by a bit or have a hard time controling car and hitting shots is you have to pay attention to what direction you push the joy stick..I finally caught myself when flipping/aerialing im pushing not straight or directly right etc..sounds super simple but If you dont hold your joy stick the exact way you want to go you will miss the ball by a bit or alot..hope this helps
I started about a month ago. Prepare yourself mentally, it’s a grind and can be very discouraging sometimes. So many times I’ve said maybe, I’m just not good enough to learn this. Just gotta keep going man. I’ve gotten to lvl 14 on the leth rings map, but if I try to use it in game I get beat to every ball. Gonna keep grinding though. Good luck!
@@2yankeesfan2011 Appreciate the encouragement tons man. Was starting to feel the exact same way - discouraged. This definitely helps. Glad I’m not alone!
There are always details missed out in every air roll video I watch. In my practice in the last week, there are so many things to consider that I think are crucial that are left out. Little things like how to make sure you keep your nose from tilting towards the ground especially after a tighter turn. The fact that turning shouldn't just happen when the roof of your car is facing the screen as waiting for that to happen just isn't viable for full control and the fact that you don't just turn right when pressing up+right, in a sense up+right just moves your car in a certain direction which is also helpful as you can basically use these inputs to go in certain directions even when your car roof isn't necessarily facing you, so you can use the input which technically makes your car turn right, but you might want to use that input to go a diff way when sayz the bottom and a bit of the side of your car is facing you. Most of my training has been my own constant testing to see what does what, I feel after these videos and ones previous, I go into training and still feel like I'm no more better off after seeing. Nothing on how to do sharper turns, turning whilst gaining height, turning whilst wanting to drop height, how if you want to turn left say with down+right, how putting the stick closer to the down direction is better. How you can turn left by pressing down+right but you don't necessarily need to complete the spin, a little flick there will give you a slight turn but push your nose a bit down, the list goes on. Maybe training air roll is a lot about just figuring out all these types of movements and how to do them and also flow from one to the other
Thank you so much luke, I have been trying to master air roll for so long and finally I have a video that explains how to help me improve!!! So THANK YOU!
just ignore the part where he said he almost never touches the left side... Thats most likely cap everyone uses every side accordingly to what they need to do at a certain time
@@purpleheart69420 exactly, reverse tornadoes are essential for controlling your car while air rolling and being more efficient, and it can’t be done unless u push the joystick to the left.
I'm so fucking grateful creators like SpookLuke exist. I've played RL for 1.2k hours now and content creators still keep raising the bar to highs I thought previously unachievable.
I learned air roll with your last air roll video i always tried a little to learn it before so i had a little backround knowledge but could not maneuver at all. Watched your video literally took me less then an hour to understand what was happening and learned to control 1000x better. I would not say I have mastered it but I can consistently do it. Now with this video I feel like I may be able to get a step higher in learning ARL. Keep it up bro Love the videos!
Step 1. Be good Step 2. Don't suck Step 3. Give up Step 4. Uninstall With these simple steps I have succeeded in freeing up so much of my time that now I enjoy touching grass daily
bro most of this video is just epic life knowledge for trying to get better at anything, I can easily tell why your program is the best for getting better at rocket league, like DANG!
I know what he is trying to say, but the full quote is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” He definitely gave some insight I’ve never thought of before. Time to exercise, eat better, and grind the things that matter.
I think everyone should be happy with this video this wasn’t a bait at all. Those “tricks” you shared are what people are looking for, there are so many “tutorials” on how to air roll, but they’re all the same thing saying the same stuff. This is going beyond just “bottom left does this, and top right does this” which is what people really wanting to learn need. This is showing how to learn faster and things you can do to help perfect your air roll, like you said, “I don’t put my analog stick to the left when air rolling” which at least for me is making me think “ya that’s true I feel like it’s totally useless and makes life harder” now this way I can perfect 180 degrees rather than 360 degrees which will save a lot of time and stress
I changed my bindings recently. They are very unique and I have a specific reason for it. If you think about it, almost everyone plays with directional air roll (left or right) mapped to a button. But why? When it’s mapped to a button, you only get either 0 or 100% input. In other words, no air roll or the max air roll speed which is defined by your aerial sensitivity. There is a way to get that missing 1-99% input for so much more precision and slight adjustments. That is by using the right analog stick for aerials. Air roll right - RS (right) Air roll left - RS (left) Pros: -More precise control. The rate at which your car spins is defined by the right stick position and not just your aerial sensitivity setting. -Easy and seamless transitioning between air roll directions. It forces you to learn both directions which is tremendously beneficial. And yes you can get better and quicker angles if you know both directions equally well. Btw, if you’re already very good with one direction, learning the other is wayyyyy easier and faster than you think. It’s literally just a reflection across the y-axis of what you already know and your muscle memory will pick it up fast so just learn it. -There are some weird ways in which you can maneuver, that you cannot get from free air roll and/or only one directional air roll binding. Hard to explain but it has to do with going back and forth between a reverse tornado spin in each direction. -It’s actually extremely intuitive. You almost feel like your using both analog sticks in unison (which you actually are). -With my bindings, I never have to take my thumb off of the right analog stick, so I’m always in complete control for any quick adjustment. -Wall-dashing is actually easier in my opinion. Just hold forwards on the left stick to keep the hood of the car down when you jump and right on the right stick if you’re on the right wall or left on the left wall (there’s that intuitiveness). Cons: -The learning curve. I have changed bindings a few times before and was able to learn in a couple of days with no problem. This took a lot longer. I had already been practicing air rolling in my ‘weaker’ direction so it wasn’t as hard for me to pick up the aerials quickly on the right stick. But I also gave up on free air roll completely so I needed to re-learn everything I used with free air roll (Flicks, recoveries, kickoff’s, half-flips, shooting angles......wave-dashes are particularly brutal to re-learn with directional air roll). -You have to use the face buttons for camera swivel. I have gotten used to this and you can still make it work but it’s definitely the biggest con. -You need to set up your bindings such that your right thumb never has to leave the right stick while in the air and yes, that means changing your jump button to one of the bumpers. Don’t worry, I have been jumping with x/a since S3 and it only took a few days to get used to on L1. I was back-flipping on quick aerials like crazy initially tho. Honestly, after putting myself through a solid month or two of learning to use the Right Stick for aerials, and getting over camera swiveling with the face buttons, I could never go back...it’s just so much better. I’ll end with my bindings for this to work. Jump - L1 Boost - R1 Swivel left - square/x Swivel right - circle/b Swivel down - triangle/y Rearview - x/a Powerslide - RS click Ball cam toggle - LS click If this helps anyone, that’s awesome. If you try it let me know what you think. At the upper echelon of RL, the smallest advantages become game changers. This gives you more precise aerial control. No question about it.
Yes, this is a game changer. totally agree. air rolls become very intuitive that way. It is a bit frustrating though, jumping with index finger, and the joysticks clics are not that acurate. especially for Powerslide which pros tend to press only for a tiny fraction of a second. And you cannot change binding on right joystick on consoles. too bad.
@@dayannahkali everything becomes just as accurate over time. It just takes some practice and getting used to. I’m just as accurate as I was before with these bindings. That’s weird that you cannot change the directional air roll bindings. I know you can’t change it for free air roll, but it should work for directional air rolls 🤔
@@MikeyWhoaOfficial Yeah, Thanks for feedback. On console, on xbox at least, I can't unbind the right joy view thing. I play on pc, mostly, but when at friend's, it's often on console...
I just started learning how to air roll a day ago and I started by doing a rings map forward only, then backward only, then now I did it holding air roll the entire time, making micro adjustments only when my car is facing foward. Tomorrow I plan on learning how to air roll and make adjustments only backwards and then merging the two together.
I don't think Luke really baited us, that little tip about pretty much never pushing the stick left while ARL just gave me 50% less inputs to worry about while I learn this, so that's a pretty decent help haha.
@@LosfeldRL no, not really. what rank are you again? sorry, but i don’t use my entire stick when using directional air roll. only time I did when when I thought I was supposed to. if you say that you need to use your entire stick for it, it makes me not want to watch your nearly 2 hour long video about “ mastering” air roll. you have to be like high diamond - low champ if you think you need to use your entire stick. i mean no offense or rudeness, I’m just explaining it from my viewpoint as a player who peaked 2063 in 2s last season.
@@ripit.3457 I'm C1. If you can't use the whole joystick, that's kind of your problem, but that doesn't mean at all that one shouldn't use the whole joystick. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean using the whole joystick is wrong. Just because you don't know what the left side does, doesn't mean that you're right at all. Don't watch it then. Probably won’t see this comment but a good tip is to also take a break from the game, it has helped me to go from silv gold and plat to diamond like last month after coming off a couple month break, every time I would come back to the game after taking a break I felt as tho I was able to understand the game more and it happens every time also my tik tok fyp is filled high lvl rl and just from watching them do mechanics I’ve learned a lot and I went from spending hours (like I did in gold) just trying to get the setup and a goal for air dribbles to be able do it consistently but at it’s most basic form not yet able to air roll and stuff

just FYI ... the complete saying is: "a jack of all trades but a master of none is still better than a master of one" just cause some youngins dont know that yet, but his point still holds.
@@slimstubbs I personally disagree but I think which version you believe comes down to personal opinions, philosophies, and experiences. @@owenleberknight3097 It's definitely better to be a master at one thing than to be pretty good at a lot of things. All the most successful people in our society, whether that be athletes, actors, doctors, lawyers, engineers etc. are masters at their specialized craft. Leonardo DiCaprio could be terrible at sports and know nothing about medicine or law or being an engineer, etc, but he's a master at acting so he's ultra successful. Meanwhile if you are pretty good at everything but not a master at anything, there is always going to be somebody who's a master at the thing that you're pretty good at, and they will be more successful.
I’ve always looked up the hardest mechanics in games and forced myself to do them no matter how bad I am until I get good.. I don’t like to lose so that motivation drives me to get good lol
Remember to stay consistent, consistent hours of sleep consistent excessive, consistent nutrition, consistent training. Consistent not constant, is the most important lesson to learn for improving at anything.
i realised i've been training on rings and stuff with airroll pressed all the time but i didn't tornado all the time, it was more tornado to get back in position and airroll straight, is it normal or should i be tornado spinning non stop while doing rings ? (your stick doesn't seem to stop ever so i feel like you are tornadoing the whole way though)
What exactly is the point/advantage of ARL OR ARR? I Mean unless you're freestyling I learned it's better to use regular airroll as its easier or unless you wanna stall I don't get the point of it. All it does is slow you down in the air. Someone care to explain or prove me wrong please?
It lets you make adjustments faster and also get better hits on the ball especially for double taps. When the car is spinning it doesn’t really knock your car back like it does if you don’t spin. Spinning the entire time you aerial will slow you down but using ARL/ARR will help you adjust faster if you’re not perfectly lined up. Overall it lets you get a level of car control that you can’t fully get with just normal air roll. You don’t need to use it but it definitely helps when used correctly and as you mentioned it’s good for free styling as well
DAR over free air roll gives you more precision and control, and there are things that just aren’t possible with free air roll, like tornado spins, and the way he was doing those rings maps you couldn’t do with free air roll. Plus learning to control your car while holding DAR can give you more control of the ball with things like air dribbles
I started struggling to learn directional air roll (air roll right) months ago. I'm able to complete a rings map but I have to go slowly because I make all my adjustments when the top of the car is facing me (the neutral position) and using quick intercardinal directions. Up-right to angle right and go faster, down-right to angle right and slow down, up-left to angle left and go faster, and down left to angle left and slow down. With that said, if I get going too fast and an adjustment is needed before my car can rotate to the neutral position, I have a complete black out moment. My brain can't seem to wrap around how to move/adjust my car outside of the neutral position. Any tips on how to train this so I can make adjustments at any time of the spin?
So what I do is I double down, what I mean by that is if your car is not facing you, let's say you make the adjustment to turn right and your stick is on that adjustment and you need to turn further right, mirror your stick the complete opposite direction, it will let you exaggerate the direction you are going or the adjustment you are making but if I'm in a situation where I have to make an adjustment but I have time to tornado spin I would most likely tornado spin to slow down my car and then focus on the correct adjustment.
I feel like what helped me a lot is holding down air roll and practicing only using one cardinal direction to angle my car. Then you can use any direction in any situation
I have a high end pc and the game is all fd up. It feels different every time I play. Sometimes the same camera settings look different. How do I set my pc steam and controller?
Regarding step #4 and the whole mental headspace of rocket league, I’ve never played rocket league sober ever, I’m always drunk or high when I play but I made it to champ none the less lol
Hey Luke, it's nice that there is ANOTHER air roll video, for left or right, but what about free air roll? The first air roll I learned was left about a year ago, and to this day I'm still searching for an air roll video that explains how to master free air roll. The reason why I bring this up is because in every air roll video, they tell you to hold the air roll button and push your boundaries, essentially, but that doesn't quite work the same way it free air roll. So what do you suggest is the best way to learn it?
bind both air rolls, directional and free air roll, and part about mastering free air roll is just practice, play casual or 1vs1 and try only aerials with it

Hey Luke and other people, I have to controller related questions: 1.Is there any advantage to having non-direcitonal airroll? I heard some pros saying that there are specific (somewhat unimportant) movements that are impossible if you have only directional airroll but I have a hard time seeing how that is possible. 2.I have always played with drive / reverse on stick instead of on the bumpers like is the standard in all racing/driving games. I did it because I thought it would make more sense and it sort of does but now I wonder if it is making simple turns inefficient for me? When I push my stick forward I drive forward, but does the stick output just the direction or also how far I push it in that direction? Also, when I push my stick diagonaly up, do I only drive with half power & steer with half power? I hope some of you know enough about this to help me with this dumb question. I really dont want to have to relearn simple turning, I got to c3 with it and I don't plan on playing actively much longer once I get to gc. Thanks Luke, your advice is complex yet simple enough that it is both practical and correct which is hard to nail but you did. Nice going.
1. With regular air roll, you just dont have all the options you could have if you learn directional air roll. For example, tornado spins and kuxir twist are impossible without directional air roll. 2. I really think you should try switching to the bumpers. It might be challenging, but there are people who have made significant changes to their controls even very deep into the game, and all regret not chaging earlier. The longer you keep playing with controls that are holding you back, the harder it will be to change. I believe Rizzo had some weird settings which were similar, so perhaps with enough practice you could make it work, but I dont think anyone would recommend this.
I would bind the normal air roll button if u don’t have it bound (my bad if I didn’t read ur comment properly) and about driving with left stick I think that should be fine as spookluke uses it aswell however he does advice players agains it if there just starting out :)
Yea, I’d say it’s quicker to learn neutral air roll, but long term it’s not as good, directional air roll has a noticeable advantage. Most pros say directional air roll is more reliabe for this exact reason. If you have the time, learn ARL.
The only thing that really helped me was the blackout moments, I took me 2 weeks to graps the basics for those weird positions, after that the next 5 months have been just trying to get more consistent and trying new blackouts moments. As he said from a previous video, "If u dont force yourself to be unconfortable you won't learn anything new"
I dont know how to turn while holding air roll I have to let go of it for a minute but I see pros just stay air rolling and using there stick while turning. Any Tips
So seen all steps im willing to warm up and practise aswell but your video havent showed how to start like what should i do if i wanna go left right etc. Your video says go practice and improve but not how
I got really good at air roll since like January, and I took ur advice from the other vid about increasing ur aerial sensitivity slightly when you get comfortable over time and wow it’s help me a lot! Now I’m using 2.24 aerial sense but with controller deadzome at .24 so it’s not as fast as you think. It feels nice af to air roll with it like that
I try to learn it with my 39 years old fingers and maybe I had to use this earlier for the "muscle memory" playing rl since 6-8 month maybe and start now to learn it to improve my gameplay. Damn it is so damn hard. It's not like cod where u r playing 1 month and getting a lot better. Rocket league wants a high frustration level from u. But my goal is reaching diamond someday. Never came above plat 3 in 2vs2. It would be cool reaching diamond and staying there without a prob 😁. In all those vids it looks like easy like breathing but my car is moving like a heart attack with an air roll 🤣
So, if i go out more and get atleast a half decent amount of sleep then I will be much better than i currently am, i currently play like a c1 with like 4 hours
I dont get it, I’ve looked at so many tutorials about arial roles and control in the air but NO ONE ever explains what the heck I’m supposed to do with the joystick while rolling in the air… frustrating
shock: master one thing and then move on. literally 60% of players below champ: flip resets!!!! (they can't do other stuff like speed flip good half flips and recoveries)
I guess there’s some solace in knowing pros have an average of over 10,000 hours. Obviously I’d never compare myself to them, but I’m roughly 140 hours into Rocket League and I’m really starting to feel and realize just how bad I am mechanically. I’m trying so hard to learn how to seriously aerial, air roll, tornado, etc. idk, just kinda really makes me realize how small amount of time I have and that I’m not behind
I am used to non directional air roll for recoveries and air roll power shots. Want to learn both Left and Right directional for air dribbles but feels like I ran out of buttons on the controller bcz of using custom bindings that feel comfortable. Have 1 bound already.
From the videos I’ve seen it sounds like it’s not really useful to learn both arl and arr and you’d be wasting your time to learn both so I wouldn’t worry about it personally
Took me 6 months of training too much everyday. I mostly learned it’s a lot of a small movements. You turn your car up or down when it’s in the position you want it to go

Btw I play on keyboard
I use a controller
I'm not able to understand airrolls
Could you explain please?
I'm a plat 2
Now the basics to practice before you can learn air roll:
- Your goal is to make any kind of adjustments be in your muscle memory.
From now on watch a few videos on air roll and follow along!
;)
I just can't fathom the amount of time you took to write such a detailed explanation
Thank you so much!!
Your explanation makes a lot more sense than all the YT tutorials I've watched so far
This'll surely help me
Once again, Thanks a ton!
Thank you this actually helped I kept on side flipping on accident instead of front flipping in the air
the thought of someone mentioning the term "musty flick" in their Masters thesis brings me joy
LITERALLY just decided to learn air roll left this morning. Was looking for a solid, straight-forward guide. This video changes everything 🙌🏾
Yeah same
I started about a month ago. Good luck!
yeah it took my 1 or 2 months before I could air roll correctly without focusing on my inputs. it's now just muscle memory.
@@2yankeesfan2011 they say you get to the ball faster if you don't air roll. just Ariel straight to the ball.❤ hope it helps.
@@2yankeesfan2011 Appreciate the encouragement tons man. Was starting to feel the exact same way - discouraged. This definitely helps. Glad I’m not alone!
Blackout moments! Perfect, I got that down, I’m nothing but blackout moments!
Still the best intro on RUclips.

@@purpleheart69420 exactly, reverse tornadoes are essential for controlling your car while air rolling and being more efficient, and it can’t be done unless u push the joystick to the left.

Omg tysm I am way much more better then I was an hour earlier 😃😃😃😃I subbed btw
I'm so fucking grateful creators like SpookLuke exist. I've played RL for 1.2k hours now and content creators still keep raising the bar to highs I thought previously unachievable.
I learned air roll with your last air roll video i always tried a little to learn it before so i had a little backround knowledge but could not maneuver at all. Watched your video literally took me less then an hour to understand what was happening and learned to control 1000x better. I would not say I have mastered it but I can consistently do it. Now with this video I feel like I may be able to get a step higher in learning ARL. Keep it up bro Love the videos!
Don't be a suck up to this fraud and instead listen to my actual two hours long tutorial. I give you the absolute information on air rolling.
Step 1. Be good
Step 2. Don't suck
Step 3. Give up
Step 4. Uninstall

I just hit gc and I’ve just realized that air roll left/right are better, explains why everyone else is so much better at air dribbles than me
bro most of this video is just epic life knowledge for trying to get better at anything, I can easily tell why your program is the best for getting better at rocket league, like DANG!
I know what he is trying to say, but the full quote is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
He definitely gave some insight I’ve never thought of before.
I watched the first ones you made and ngl it literally thought me air roll left
your videos have help me so much

I changed my bindings recently. They are very unique and I have a specific reason for it. If you think about it, almost everyone plays with directional air roll (left or right) mapped to a button. But why? When it’s mapped to a button, you only get either 0 or 100% input. In other words, no air roll or the max air roll speed which is defined by your aerial sensitivity. There is a way to get that missing 1-99% input for so much more precision and slight adjustments. That is by using the right analog stick for aerials.
Air roll right - RS (right)
Air roll left - RS (left)
Pros:
-More precise control.
Cons:
-The learning curve.
Jump - L1
Boost - R1
Swivel left - square/x
Swivel right - circle/b
Swivel down - triangle/y
Rearview - x/a
Powerslide - RS click
Ball cam toggle - LS click
If this helps anyone, that’s awesome.
@Mr Happy271 no that made him quit the game
honestly I didn't watch this video originally because there are too many air roll videos but this video was different and I liked that
I don't think Luke really baited us, that little tip about pretty much never pushing the stick left while ARL just gave me 50% less inputs to worry about while I learn this, so that's a pretty decent help haha.
And it's a stupid tip. If you want to learn directional air roll, you're gonna want to use your whole joystick. Don't listen to this fraud.
I didn't waste 9 months of my life to be told that using the whole joystick is a mistake. I didn't waste my time to listen to that kind of crap. @@LosfeldRL ok, it seems you’re a tad tilted. i meant 0 disrespect when I brought up your rank. i’m sorry if you misinterpreted that part, but i find it funny that you essentially skipped over my entire reply. just because i don’t, doesn’t mean i can’t. the whole point of bringing in MY rank was to add some credibility to the information I was saying. i find it funny how I said you had to be high diamond - low champ and i was spot on lol. the way you present yourself in your comments told me everything i needed to know in order to properly approach talking to you. again, i don’t mean any disrespect, but i will laugh at your next reply if you start claiming wild stuff about my abilities.

@@slimstubbs I personally disagree but I think which version you believe comes down to personal opinions, philosophies, and experiences. The saying has evolved over about the last 4 centuries with authors adding different parts and using it in different ways, so there isn't really a right or wrong answer.
Meanwhile if you are pretty good at everything but not a master at anything, there is always going to be somebody who's a master at the thing that you're pretty good at, and they will be more successful.

how do you flip while aerialing ive seen people like flick the ball but I dont know how
i realised i've been training on rings and stuff with airroll pressed all the time but i didn't tornado all the time, it was more tornado to get back in position and airroll straight, is it normal or should i be tornado spinning non stop while doing rings ? (your stick doesn't seem to stop ever so i feel like you are tornadoing the whole way though)
No need to tornado all the time, tornado spins slow you down
great video
Learn to control your car with the hood facing you, upside down, and sideways facing both up and down
I feel like what helped me a lot is holding down air roll and practicing only using one cardinal direction to angle my car. Then you can use any direction in any situation

Hey Luke and other people, I have to controller related questions:
1.Is there any advantage to having non-direcitonal airroll?
@@deaconpowell3644 Thanks, nice to hear.
@@twopolaar599 I was asking about the benefits of NON-directional airroll
Yea, I’d say it’s quicker to learn neutral air roll, but long term it’s not as good, directional air roll has a noticeable advantage. Most pros say directional air roll is more reliabe for this exact reason. If you have the time, learn ARL.
What's the code of the air roll map that you're playing ?
The only thing that really helped me was the blackout moments, I took me 2 weeks to graps the basics for those weird positions, after that the next 5 months have been just trying to get more consistent and trying new blackouts moments.
As he said from a previous video, "If u dont force yourself to be unconfortable you won't learn anything new"
"Your brain just doesn't understand where to move on the joystick"
Happens to me 5 mins per game.

do you only tornado spin att eh start and then incorporate basic air roll?
So seen all steps im willing to warm up and practise aswell but your video havent showed how to start like what should i do if i wanna go left right etc. Your video says go practice and improve but not how
How do you get the rings map though?
I like the intro
Which map was that? (The first one, not Lethamyr's giant rings)
im gonna try it out rn
I have a very difficult time flying like this. I can do air shots and stuff but for the life of me I canning grasp air rolling and air dribbling…
It feels nice af to air roll with it like that
Don't you want your dead zone to be as low as possible without stick drift?
Fr like I don’t get how they jus keep air rolling in a straight position in the air and they manage to hit the ball all the time
@@sweatyjadz4969 that’s what I’m saying bro I got no idea
just spin ur joystick and after some time u will get that what is going on with car
also it will help u to get used to tornados spins
I remember a while ago I thought it was impossible to learn this but now I’m actually pretty good. Diamond 1 btw
what did you do to learn?
shock: master one thing and then move on.
literally 60% of players below champ: flip resets!!!! (they can't do other stuff like speed flip good half flips and recoveries)
Haha best routine for me is white rebull and pack of oreos for Rocket League :D
console players:
You didn't have to cut me off
Bro took his classmate hostage training rocket league lmao, poor children joining our addiction
Is there a way to get something similar to rings map on the console. I’m on Xbox so I don’t have access to rings map
No, we have nothing
You turn your car up or down when it’s in the position you want it to go
yo if you’re on console what’s your name.i’d like to know the things you’ve learned.that’s if you want to obviously.you could just type it here but ik typing is a lil annoying in big amounts.but yea i’m really trying my hardest and i’d like any feedback from those before me❤️
Exercise and eating well literally makes you think clearer.
So, go workout :)
A jack of all trades is a master of none. But a jack of all trades is better than a master of one
Hey man, I have watched your content for over a year now and I really enjoy your videos. I would like to reserve a spot in your coaching program but I'm not sure how flexible you are on your coaching times. I usually don't get home from work till around 7 Monday through Friday. Would you be able to flex with late night coaching? I saw your last chance on discord with your flight but it won't let me DM you on discord
