Thank you for videos like this. Have you ever thought of doing a series on coaching a couple of people from plat/diamond to see where they will end up? My biggest struggle is exactly the thing you made the video about. Even tho i do my stuff in training i cant use it in matches because i dont feel comfortable with it
Qofd: when the balls lingers (falls slowly) close to wall in front of the net and you have to fly up and defend, otherwise its the easiest shot on goal for the opponent because reading the ball is too easy
As a beginner I can say I've been looking for something like this. Not talking too fast starting from how to get the car off the ground and then slowing showing how it's done. No hate on other RUclipsrs but they go too fast. Well done ! Will check out the other vids

Im going through the same thing now lol. Just hit C1 before i now decided to bind air roll left. I noticed this comment was 6 months ago though, so how has the transition been so far?
@@Shit_tits_FC so I've had some crazy shit goin on for a while so I haven't been playing it that much. But with the time I actually took practicing it, it felt like trying to learn to juggle. It's so confusing and difficult to time moving your thumb with the rotations. But I guess it just comes down to constant practice and muscle memory. I managed to get a bit of it down barley. When I'm first starting, I can do okay. But the longer I turn, the worse I get. But I did end up making some progress I suppose. It was constant freeplay.
@@AppleJaxx4U yeah turning is by far the most difficult part but i feel like all mechanics in RL just come down to the muscle memory as you said. I also changed a couple other binds like my regular air roll and drift which has made this transiton that much harder lol but i think it'll be worth it in the end. I feel like that D3-C1 stage is when it actually become important to have good contol in the air. Are you still D3?
@@Shit_tits_FC No, I am actually C1. I never did feel like I practiced enough to implement air roll left into my online matches though, so I can't say it's because of that. But yeah.. Pretty smart to just unbind your regular air roll. I'm probably just gonna have to do that if I'm going to want to really step it up.
Without a shadow of a doubt, getting flicks consistently: Both in the frequency of the flick and the power. I can dribble very well, it's just that final flick that is killing me in a lot of my matches
QOTD: I’d say one of my hardest spots to understand is adapting to people’s play styles. Being able to go from one aggressive teammate to one very passive makes it hard especially in platinum where I’m also making a million mistakes.
When I was trying to climb out of Plat the first time, I found the best way to combat this is to default to a little more defensive to see how much ball chaser your team mate is, if he is relentless, focus on defense, cause even a bad player on the other side of the field ball chasing hard WILL eventually get a goal, and if not, the opponent will boot it to you and you have a chance at a nice long air shot

3 years late for this, but I started playing rocket league with a passion, trying out different things. Right now for your question of the day I fear the player base the most. Not all people are like that but I meet a few ones that literally "toy" with me. I know i'm not that good and all, but the opponent always uses his current skill set to make fun of me. My nerves are not that great and I have slight anger issues. I don't type in the chat as rocket league detection system is incredibly sensitive, so instead i can't vent on anything else except going away from the game to release some of that frustration into something else. I'm currently searching for the best ways to improve myself and techniques to counter those people and to get myself to a good rank. I'm incredibly happy for this video as i'm already practicing the air rolls and i'm getting a hang of it. I just wish people didn't laugh at me for being bad :(
The thing about the air roll is that it just makes my car go another way like when I’m trying to go from one crossbar to the other one my car just goes right or left away from the destination I’m trying to go to.
I saw another video with it, if you air roll left and wanna turn left you go from bottom left to bottom right, and for going right you go from bottom right to top right (i think)
I also saw another reason that explains that, you have to pay attention to where the roof of your car is when you spin too. the tiny adjustments start to make sense then
Thank you. I saw people spinning in the air and was liken "how do you do that." And I could not for the life of me figure it out. Then I watched this video and realized it was just another button I had to press. (And be good at the game)
Definitely the most difficult aspect of Rocket League for me is Airel training. I never hit the ball even with your tips and tricks plus I’m on Pc so it’s even harder.
I’ve been trying so hard to improve in rl and I’ve watch so many videos like bund changing how to air roll ceiling shot and so many more but this is by far the best one thanks u so much
In my opinion normal air roll should only be used with your drift key bind for movement like wavedashing. And directional air roll should be used for all your aerial mechanics. It just provides much more control and more options.
@@zeitz4473 why do you think directional airroll should be used for all aerial mechanics and provides more control/options?. If you hold air roll and lead the Stick to the top right or left its the same as if you press up and directional airroll left or right. Just not as consistent because you can mess up or hold for to long or get a slightly wrong direction. Correct me if i am wrong. Just my toughts because i only use 1 directional airroll and most of the time Just the normal air roll
QOTD: I'd really love to see an advanced positioning & rotations guide. I almost never find help when it comes to this and playing in higher ranked lobbies I find myself struggling to get to the ball first or having an impact on the game outside of playing defense in 3's
I'm not great at it but I'm improving. In free play, drive around really fast and jump around off walls and just air roll until your car lands flat. If you get bored with that or it doesn't seem to help. Play 1s and play aggressively. You'll bounce around more off the ball and off the opponents car which forces you to recover better.
The wall is my biggest struggle in the game .. Whether it's reading corner bounces or just trying to pick a ball off the wall .. Everything just takes on a slightly different POV than on the ground and that adjustment is so hard to make .. Also trying to jump for a ball off the wall seems impossible
Tip: for those who are gold and under, trying following these steps in the rocket league arial, keeper, striker trainings. im a plat but just switched to controller from keyboard and i've been playing with the controller in freeplay. And now,, i will implement this training into my training sessions with my controller. Best of luck to yall!
PLEEEASSE could you address the jumping from ranks like plat to diamond and diamond to champ, like the mechanics you need in those jumps Edit: Personally, I'm making the jump from diamond to champ and there's stuff I can't identify I'm doing wrong.
Tough to nail specifics down because the skill ceiling keeps going up. Getting from plat to diamond now is harder, different than how it was 6 months ago. Consistency is king tho.
@@jacobdavis7824 True True, The skill ceiling is spiraling up as you said mainly because of f2p because lets say if you started lets say October 2020 you should be plat1-3 depending on if you are consistent player.
From what I've learned (KBM AR Left) A - forwards D - backwards S - Left W - Right Holding A + D = car will rotate evenly A + W = rotates forward to the right A + S = rotates forward to the left. The same applies for backwards left/right. Holding A and D whilst pressing on either S or W will rotate your car slightly to the respective directions.
For me, the problem with adjusting while air rolling, is that my thought process goes like this: -See what direction my car is facing in the air roll -Think about which direction i should be pushing the joystick -Push the joystick that way But by the time i push the joystick, it’s already too late and the car is already in a different oriëntation. Anyone has any tips for this?
Honestly this is my biggest struggle too which is why muscle memory is so important because this process is what u need to do but u just have to keep practicing it so your at the point where u don’t even need to think about every detail and it just come out so I would say just keep practicing build that muscle memory
I don't know why my aerial sensitivity is still to fast even at 1.00? When doing full boost fast aerials my nose jerks so fast up or down even at 1.00 sens wish i could go to like 0.25 or below 1.00
After 100's of hours I JUST changed my settings and keybinds. Having Boost on R1 instead of B is a game changer. I also moved my Powerslide / Air Roll to L1. I feel like I have way more speed and control to do these type of aerials now! Only problem is my mind / muscle memory is all messed up from having default controls for so long. I'll give these training tips a try!

hey, sometimes the guy with less points is really playing significantly better. usually on the defensive. i just hit diamond 2 today, from plat 3, and i averaged 210 points per game, with mainly clears and assists. you taking a solo play is actually a huge disadvantage, unless you're already locked into it to buy your teammates time. Main 1s, too, because your mechanics are down if you're a plat, and by mechanics...i don't mean flip resets. i mean flicks, dribbles, and basic aerials. and...quite ironic that you say "not getting tilted" and phrase it in a way that only puts blame on your teammates. don't chase the ball. they will end up with more points, shots, saves, and so on. stop cutting your teammates off. be on the right part of the field. do better kickoffs. stop shooting shots that can be defended. fake them. pass to a teammate. you're at fault for losing, just as much as your teammates are. i've got less than 120 hours, but i've played sarpbc, grew up on racing games, and love physics games. the competitivity is why i play this game...and to be competitive, you have to get over yourself. your mistakes put your teammates in a bad position, just like theirs do to you. not worthy of qotd.
QOTD: honestly, i try to rotate well and be in the right spot with positioning but because i haven't mastered it, how do i know if i'm where i am supposed to be?

I enjoy your videos like this quite a bit. You're not someone who just says, go practice. You give in depth about how to do whatever you're teaching while telling us to practice. Thank you for videos like this. Have you ever thought of doing a series on coaching a couple of people from plat/diamond to see where they will end up? I think you would do great coaching other players.
Probably, Bump the opponent and give your teammates a chance to clear it afterwards
As a beginner I can say I've been looking for something like this. Not talking too fast starting from how to get the car off the ground and then slowing showing how it's done. No hate on other RUclipsrs but they go too fast. Well done ! Will check out the other vids
Man how much you've improved is astonishing. Been here since for awhile now, and your vids' always hit. Keep it up, amazing content ♥
yea i was gonna say i stumbled on this two years ago as a GC and now this dude would absolutely stomp me
i used this to improve my aerial a year ago. im back into rl and back to watching tutorials. thx :D
I really needed this video. With me being a diamond 3, I haven't considered using an air roll left/right button until recently.. and oh man, it's a rough road. But I will definitely have to do the training you mentioned. It really sounds like it will help. After all, it did help when it came to learning how to flying backwards. Thank you once again Thanovic
Yeah I struggle with that also
When I was trying to climb out of Plat the first time, I found the best way to combat this is to default to a little more defensive to see how much ball chaser your team mate is, if he is relentless, focus on defense, cause even a bad player on the other side of the field ball chasing hard WILL eventually get a goal, and if not, the opponent will boot it to you and you have a chance at a nice long air shot
@@InTehFace1 yup, I’m c2 now. It’s crazy how we get stuck but when we finally pass it we canta see how we were stuck in the first place
@@xiMtHeZoMbIx Yea pretty cool right? You are better than me, I am in Diamond 3 for 2's (my best) and Im a little stuck now. I know Ill figure it out because i have some nights where I am DOMINATING haha! Just gotta figure out whats the difference
@@InTehFace1 I think what got me out of Diamond officially was learning when I didn’t actually have to jump or panic for stuff. Which put me in a more opportune position to be more effective with what played out.
Dude You Don’t Understand How Much By Just Playing The Game How Much You Inspire Me. Especially Youre Tutorials,Sure I Might Still Be Hardstuck In Silver 3 But Your Videos Teach Me Things I Should Have When I Started. Love Ya And Keep Up The Great Work ❤️
I was in the same boat now I’m pushing plat, stay with it homie
Been playing RL for a while now but haven’t started taking it seriously until just recently! Really excited to try out these tips so I can figure out how to do the wall ramp air dribble flippity kick helicopter thing.
I just wish people didn't laugh at me for being bad :(
Never been this early, sweet
Its says you were here 1 minute before the vid was uploaded lol
Man actually peaked on speed
Time travel lol
@@Thanovic Love the vids btw
I won't get tired of this, you're the best tutorial rocket league youtuber by far, there's no even comparison, you're so much better than anyone else
QOTD: Drifting. I'm in champ but still struggle to get really consistent drifts. The fact that all four wheels loose grip is really weird to me.
Kinda stunting huh 🤔 just kidding lol
i'm low gc and struggle on drifts, but im using them more and more for multiple reason
Definitely the most difficult aspect of Rocket League for me is Airel training. I never hit the ball even with your tips and tricks plus I’m on Pc so it’s even harder.
Answer to QOTD: being able to hit the ball whether it is on the ground or in the air
Me too man
I’ve been trying so hard to improve in rl and I’ve watch so many videos like bund changing how to air roll ceiling shot and so many more but this is by far the best one thanks u so much
In my opinion normal air roll should only be used with your drift key bind for movement like wavedashing.
And directional air roll should be used for all your aerial mechanics. It just provides much more control and more options.
Explain
@@300iqbaguette6 i would love to explain further do you have a specific question in mind for starters?
@@zeitz4473 why do you think directional airroll should be used for all aerial mechanics and provides more control/options?. If you hold air roll and lead the Stick to the top right or left its the same as if you press up and directional airroll left or right. Just not as consistent because you can mess up or hold for to long or get a slightly wrong direction.
Correct me if i am wrong. Just my toughts because i only use 1 directional airroll and most of the time Just the normal air roll
one of the best youtubers i come to for rocket league tutorials
QOTD: I'd really love to see an advanced positioning & rotations guide. I almost never find help when it comes to this and playing in higher ranked lobbies I find myself struggling to get to the ball first or having an impact on the game outside of playing defense in 3's
Finally another air control video I love these even if they don’t help me so much they still entertaining
Anwser to QOTD: Definitely Shot placement
Yeah it’s hard for top right corners
Recoveries, I feel like that is the part where there is a lot to gain as it's hard to practice
An answer to the question:
Definitely wall reads and shadowing reads (over the shoulder)
I learned a lot from this video! It helped me a lot.
The wall is my biggest struggle in the game .. Whether it's reading corner bounces or just trying to pick a ball off the wall .. Everything just takes on a slightly different POV than on the ground and that adjustment is so hard to make .. Also trying to jump for a ball off the wall seems impossible
Hold air roll when jumping off the wall.
answer to COTD: wall reads. Knowing what to do when going for an off the wall pass/shot
OMG im so good at rocket league now you u just made me a pro in 1 day this training is insane i did this training for 9 hours
Jep, i'm now cracked
Tip:
for those who are gold and under, trying following these steps in the rocket league arial, keeper, striker trainings.
im a plat but just switched to controller from keyboard and i've been playing with the controller in freeplay. And now,, i will implement this training into my training sessions with my controller. Best of luck to yall!
THANOVIC, LEAVE ME ALOONNEEE
I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN 2 DAYS AND I HAVE AN EXAM TOMORROW 😭😭😭
Go to sleep LOL
Good luck for your exam you got this
Bruh sameee but i have it day after tomorrow and they r my FINAL EXAMS
For 2 weeks
lmao
I watched the older video of this and it made my car control way better and I thank you for being very inspirational
PLEEEASSE could you address the jumping from ranks like plat to diamond and diamond to champ, like the mechanics you need in those jumps
Edit: Personally, I'm making the jump from diamond to champ and there's stuff I can't identify I'm doing wrong.
Yesss. Please
Pleeeeease
Tough to nail specifics down because the skill ceiling keeps going up. Getting from plat to diamond now is harder, different than how it was 6 months ago. Consistency is king tho.
@@jacobdavis7824 True True, The skill ceiling is spiraling up as you said mainly because of f2p because lets say if you started lets say October 2020 you should be plat1-3 depending on if you are consistent player.
From what I've learned (KBM AR Left)
A - forwards
D - backwards
S - Left
W - Right
Holding A + D = car will rotate evenly
A + W = rotates forward to the right
A + S = rotates forward to the left.
The same applies for backwards left/right.
Holding A and D whilst pressing on either S or W will rotate your car slightly to the respective directions.
For me, the problem with adjusting while air rolling, is that my thought process goes like this:
-See what direction my car is facing in the air roll
-Think about which direction i should be pushing the joystick
-Push the joystick that way
But by the time i push the joystick, it’s already too late and the car is already in a different oriëntation. Anyone has any tips for this?
Honestly this is my biggest struggle too which is why muscle memory is so important because this process is what u need to do but u just have to keep practicing it so your at the point where u don’t even need to think about every detail and it just come out so I would say just keep practicing build that muscle memory
Been using directional air roll for ever. Tried regular air roll and I’m finding it hard and I’m a champ 🗿
I don't know why my aerial sensitivity is still to fast even at 1.00? When doing full boost fast aerials my nose jerks so fast up or down even at 1.00 sens wish i could go to like 0.25 or below 1.00
Thanks this was really helpful
when you're so early that you cant think of a funny comment
the problem with being faster than light is that you always live in darkness
Kermit!
I did the same thing, but ended up switching back and i feel just as good
@@Goffy why did you change back
@@BradsRocketClips i was a bit fed up with switching to claw mode
QOTD: Having a good mindset in really any competitive game like RL.
Bro I'm not even bronze and just started the game but I can happily say that I mastered Aeriel after just a week. Thanks for the great Video ☺️
But my question is, when should we use Air roll and when should we use air roll left/right?
You’ll figure it out I just did this past week!

Awesome, thank you! Could never find out why air rolling was a thing, no videos I could find explained it...
When seeing a Raycon sponser my head be like: "Raycon good wires Bad"
Purchased the raycons a couple months ago with your code. Loving them dude, I was looking for good earbuds for awhile and theses were exactly what I was looking for.
Also keep up the good work with your videos. I watch everyone that pops up
Glad you liked them dude!!!
I wasn’t first...
Nor was I last.
But most importantly
NO ONE ASKED
lol
Ok
just yesterday I was looking for an air control video, thank you brou
Bruh I watched this vid and then travelled back in time then continued playing as normal
i recently got to GC1 for the first time and i realized i realy need to learn this.
The tutorial itself is great but i found something that really helped me a lot.
I unbinded my normal air roll from L1 to nothing so i dont use it on accident. (i only disable it in training)
I found it when training this i mess things up by using normal air roll.
I dont know if any reads this but if you do: TRY IT
QOTD: not getting tilted for having a teammate spamming what a save with 6 total points in a 5 min game... yes I am plat!
hey, sometimes the guy with less points is really playing significantly better. usually on the defensive. i just hit diamond 2 today, from plat 3, and i averaged 210 points per game, with mainly clears and assists. you taking a solo play is actually a huge disadvantage, unless you're already locked into it to buy your teammates time.
@@Reaper-qo8tn if he has 6 points that means he’s touched the ball once lol
@@uuave no shit, sherlock. i never said he didn't. and actually...it means he's touched it 3 times.
If u get tilted from quick chat then disable it lmao
QOTD: honestly, i try to rotate well and be in the right spot with positioning but because i haven't mastered it, how do i know if i'm where i am supposed to be?
