To escape from Kuchisake Onna, the confusing question is the way to go. Once you have her pondering an answer to that question, you run for your life, saving yourself.
As far as I remember, telling her she's not pretty will make her kill you, and telling her she is will make her carve a smile on your face. I might be wrong tho.

I think in the legends, you're never supposed to agree or disagree with the "Am I pretty?" question from a kuchisake onna, but now I want to know her story with Kokai. The first story was pretty sad... I can't imagine the depth of the mother's grief & hearing from the child made it more tragic somehow.
I like this little girl, the same way I liked the pluckiness of the girl in My Big Sister game. It feels like it's set in the same strange world which I enjoy along with the music.
You can interpretate anything in any way possibile, so i get why this could be difficult to answer. 😅
the correct awnser would be when she asks "Am I pretty?" is to awanser " you are so-so" This will either confuse her or it will satisfied her {depending on the local areas of the storys}

As I get older, some of my dreams start to look more like real life. I had a dream where I thought I was already awake and out into the real world. I did try to wake myself up from the realization but that method may not have been strong enough.

I think the game you're referencing is "My Big Sister", not dear sister.
There are indeed a lot of similarities in setting, sounds and character sprites, but it still feels unique. Looking forward to where the story leads.

I loved my big sister. It was an interesting and creepy game. So I'm sure I'm gonna love watching this. It already had a nice creepy start. Looks like Roh has been having weird dreams. I kinda wonder if theres gonna be a spirit chasing her through all of them consistently.
Did anyone else notice that for 1 of the saves it came up with ??? Rather than system saving? It's near the end. Most likely doesn't mean anything but still weird.

I saw this on Steam recently in the upcoming RPG maker releases and wondered if you’d play it, because it’s made by the same creators of My Big Sister! Look forward to watching this! Hopefully it will be just as surreal as the other games, maybe a more conclusive or straightforward ending than MBS? I’m interested in where the story goes including horror aspects and spirits (also the pixel art is as cute as ever!)

I'm actually happy that many people know about the urban legend of Kuchisake Onna/Slit Mouth Woman,
though I'm guessing not all know about the Rokurokubi / Long Neck Woman xDD I've seen it in some manga/anime but never got to dug deep into its lore

dsp doesn't want people to do letsplays/streams of their games, unless theyre translating the game in real time. mostly because they've been attacked by english audiences so much. the game also doesnt have an english translation since it was just released

According to vgpersons website, the creator is actually allowing playthroughs of their games now. But with COPPA and the possibility of Manly being demonetised, it’s still a risky decision to play if an English version ever comes out (I think vgperson has stopped translating their games, as the creators name has been removed from their list of plans). But I’m interested to see it and any changes (even in Japanese) if someone uploads gameplay on RUclips. DSP has appeared to be remaking a lot of their games recently.
