It really surprises me that the property still has power connected 😲😲 The property is in really good condition given its age. You have shown homes/mansions that have not weathered as well
I love this home, it is in great original condition. It is so full of style and character from that era! The 80s updates were nice. I love those bathrooms, and all the fantastic natural light flooding the rooms! It is a wonderful home! Cool explore!😎✌️
I love the layout of this house. Btw I have a house with gas&wood fireplace, my house was built in the late 40s. I have a master bedroom, spare bedroom& master bath built on later which was originally was a porch at one time. I have hardwood floors and ceiling throughout, they were covered with ugly 12x12 squares on the ceiling, found out as I tore the ceiling down to renovate . I just sanded, stained and polyurethane, the natural wood turned out beautifully. As I renovate I wonder what other surprises I'll fine.
You can tell it is a mid century home from the proportions of the rooms, the adaptable partition doors and the wonderful windows that make it feel twice as large. this one was really upmarket for that time. the color scheme was probably all pastel soft hue . A shame it is someday going to disappear. Cheers for the season, Ethan.
Early 80's phone, I bet. Mom was too cheap to "upgrade" from a rotary lol. And Pella is (or was?) a really good-quality window/door company. The vertically-oriented windows with the crank at the bottom-totally 60's, and kinda hard to find now, unless you want to pay lots for replacement. And you're right about the large windows(the WALL OF WINDOWS), and the window orientation-although in northern climes, the windows were def not a good thing-it was hot at f in the summer, cold a f in the winter. (But the natural light? yasssss. BEAUTIFUL). Oh, and gas(and electric) fireplaces were possible the 60s, but really pretty uncommon (unless I'm mistaken). Ooooh!! and the recessed brass closet door pulls-- Sorry. Being completely dorky and cruising down memory lane. You do wonderful work, Mr. Ethan. Thank you so much.
beautiful style 60s home back in the 1960s a house like that would have held a lot of cocktail parties where the man and his wife would be host their guesst over but a great house glad that your cold is gone thanks for the great tour of this beautiful home looking forward to the next video take care
I love this house and it’s layout and spaciousness and it’s style. My favorite era of house. I love all the sunshine coming through the back portion of the house, all of its warmth and light. Nothing like it on a cold winter day and it would be made even better with the sunlight reflected off the snow. The view back there was amazing with the large property and all of the trees way back. I like the kitchen and that large living room with the fireplace although I can’t figure out why they would put the fireplace so off center. Liked the unique wrought iron divider between living and dining rooms. Like the big room with fireplace on the lower level. There didn’t seem to be any decaying or damage even though house was empty for a while and 63 years old. Nice large pool. I would love to have and live in this house. Would love to have that old style parquet flooring throughout. Love the older style bathrooms. I might even paint the ceiling blue but leave all of the blue tiles which were in amazing shape. Why tear a home down if it seems to be made so well!? My house was built in 1953 and I can’t imagine it being torn down. Another cool house Ethan that I thank you for sharing. Glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Take good care of yourself be well and be safe. Wishing a Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones!
Hey Ethan, I'm glad that you are feeling better. I love this era house & this one has alot of cool extra features. That swimming pool is massive & must have been spectacular in its day!!! Your gloves are really cool too!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting adventure!!! 👍👍☃️🎄
I liked this house. Imagine it in it's heyday. I've watched all of your videos at least once, and tbh I can't always remember everything about each one. Still, I'm surprised that I don't remember seeing the wrought Iron gates that separate the dining room and living room. I just love it. I also don't remember seeing the hidden wetbar in the basement. Those are two distinct design elements that we haven't really seen in other house you've shown from the same era, and you have shown a lot of homes from that era. I'm glad you're feeling 💯.
Ethan, you are so right and introspective , it is crazy to think that so many could afford a nice house like that in the 50’ and 60’s on one job. And being born in 1961, I remember people having that option that if the husband made enough money then the wife wouldn’t have to work. I never thought about that much after say the 80’s, I guess by then the man would have to be rich for the wife not to work. I guess that’s all the “ Housewives” shows the last ten years that give me that idea. It might be plenty of wives that are not rich that don’t have to work, like wives of lawyers, execs, doctors, etc.
Hi! In the States when you had an entry like this house I believe it is called a "split level". A ranch is just one level ....livingroom in front , garage on one end, kitchen and dining behind livingroom and a hall on opposite end from garage to bath...and bedrooms. A bungalow I believe is boxy in shape one level. This house was nice with a really nice kichen...livingroom.
I love this house. Nothing too pretentious but it was definitely upper class. I would have loved to see the original kitchen. And the bedrooms would not have been white. Thanks for sharing.
Wages were comparable with Cost of Living until the late 90s. Now things are completely upside down. It's a shame. Our whole Economy is entirely man made. Greed
Glad you are feeling better. I like the neutral colour of this house that metal patterned door is very nice but not suited in a cold country however the reflection from the pool and heat from those large window would pull the warm air through those metal opened doors toward the rest of the house. That next room has its own large window. I love large windows with lot of lights. The metal door needed oiling to stop the squeak Ethan. Great video thank you.
i bet this was a beautiful house 🏠back in its hayday ❤ Thank you Ethan .along faithful viewer . Definitely in Canada an cold climates like where i live in Wis need big windows in a home 🏠 🏠the iron sliding doors was popular in 50s an 60s in nice homes .happy holidays 🎄🎁🦌🎁🎄.take a lot of vitamins c an stay hydration plus in moldy homes please wear a mask .All us love you ❤️❤️
Ethan I hope you get 100% better soon. I can see it in your eyes that you have been sick. I like watching your videos. You think things from way before you were born are cool. I think the push button phone was very popular back in the early 80's. I always had one because the cord could be stretched into another room while you talk. I live in a apartment that was built in the 70's & there is still the big "hollywood" lights over the bathroom mirror just like that first bathroom. We had our milk delivered growing up but it was always left on our back steps. Get well soon!!
Hey Ethan..cool house, love it ..looks massive ..love those iron gates between the dining and living room, what a nice idea ...60s and 70s rock ,best eras ...HAPPY CHRISTMAS 🎄to you and yours Ethan..stay safe well warm and happy 💋
You’re right, Ethan…in the 1960’s, telephones were still had rotary dials. Crazy, but I love the laundry room! And the kitchen…I love all of the windows. I certainly am unaware of any gas fireplaces in 1960. It was definitely an above-average home for 1960, and more than a little, too. Thanks for the tour. Another shame.
Hi Ethan😎🏎💨,glad your feeling alittle better now. Ya it looks definitely like a 60s house,I’m sure it was nice once. I wonder how many people lived there. That pool was really big. I really liked the fireplace very old school,it looked alittle copper color on the chrome. Anyway ya I remember my grandparents having those flower curtains similar to those lol and the kitchen looked kinda big. I liked how the folded door still works that’s cool to. Overall not bad even tho most areas are just damaged from being old. Well anyway I hope you have an awesome Christmas and a happy new year to,hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and family 🎄🏡😎🏎Stay your awesome self😁 and see you in 2024😄
Love the House 🤗 Merry Christmas 🎄 & Happy New Year 🎊🕛 ETHAN 🤗 Thank You for all you done for Us in 2023 Much Appreciated 🤗 & I can't wait to See What you have for Us in 2024 🤗❤️
hey Ethan!! the "Pella" you saw on the accordion door is front Pella Windows and doors. they sell products around the world but are based in Pella Iowa. I grew up not farcrom there. if you are looking, you may see a lot of doors and windows with that logo in your houses. they have been around for a long time!!
Ethan I am in my middle 60s edging towards 70 and I remember when it was transitioned with the phones from Rotary to button phone like that they had princess phones so yes that phone is as old as the house. Just an FYI.😮❤😊 take care and be safe🤠
Really enjoyed this explore! Very nice home! So very sad they just tear them down! From US. FYI, the Pella brand is known for good quality and a high price tag. I’m laughing as that original Maytag washer is the exact one I have! It has lasted decades! They don’t build them like that anymore. I would love to have that beauty shipped to me, LOL! Kitchen Aid another very high quality and expensive brand. That house has so much potential. It’s lovely and really livable in it’s current state. We here in the states would call it a bi-level. So glad you’re feeling better and enjoying your explore experience. We certainly are!
It's the day before Christmas Eve here in the states. (I'm not sure if it's the same for you in Canada) I just wanted to make sure I say "MERRY CHRISTMAS Ethan" to you and your family! And Thank you for all your wonderful gifts this year to us (🏘️'s) ! 🥁🕊️🎄☃️🕯️♥️
You're right about the phone. In 1960, all phones were rotary. Push button phones like that one started to become popular in the late 1960/early 1970s.
I really like this house. It appears to be in good condition, apart from the broken window and animals. Somehow it feels like I would be comfortable and at home here.
Thank you Ethan first basement I can actually hangout in. Beautiful home. I was born in 1960. You were somebody if u had that big home. We had a decent size. But one story until my parents built a 2 story with a creepy basement. Lol.. Happy New Year 🎉 . Thank u for all u do..
Great viedo Ethan ❤ take it easy and get back to 100% I know here at my house in beaumont texas area our family been battling it too hit me the worse of course 😂
As per your comments towards the end, as a single guy, it annoys me tat I will have to completely work my assk off to get to a house like this. Even down here in the US, something like this is damn neat $800,000 to own! At least the part of the US I live and work in.
That house looks more 60s, it looks like a house my aunt used to live in the staircase and wood panels are very typical of the 60s🎉 the fireplace could have been converted to gas ,are they planning to nock this one down as well.
It really surprises me that the property still has power connected 😲😲 The property is in really good condition given its age. You have shown homes/mansions that have not weathered as well
A very nice house. You could move right in as you make repairs and remodels. Thanks Ethan.
I love this home, it is in great original condition. It is so full of style and character from that era! The 80s updates were nice. I love those bathrooms, and all the fantastic natural light flooding the rooms! It is a wonderful home! Cool explore!😎✌️

I like this house a lot, you could imagine what it was like in its prime.
Omg those black gates were gorgeous. Id take this home all day.

OMG ❤😊❤totally awesome thanks
Thanks for responding, dude. Have a great few holidays. Chill a bit.
Great video Ethan and have a great Christmas❤
You're right about the phone. In 1960, all phones were rotary. Push button phones like that one started to become popular in the late 1960/early 1970s.
Your videos are amazing Ethan 😎
Merry Christmas everyone
I really like this house. It appears to be in good condition, apart from the broken window and animals. Somehow it feels like I would be comfortable and at home here.
Beautiful ❤️ awesome house
Thank you Ethan first basement I can actually hangout in. Beautiful home. I was born in 1960. You were somebody if u had that big home. We had a decent size. But one story until my parents built a 2 story with a creepy basement. Lol.. Happy New Year 🎉 . Thank u for all u do..
I really liked this house. Also with the phone. First you had phone that you stuck your finger in. Then came the push button phone.
Hello and God bless from Shawnee, OK!💜💜💜
Oh wow, that's very cool that doors from Pella windows and doors from pella iowa my brother in law used to work there
Good one the curtains brought back childhood memories
GREAT STUFF..........LOVE IT
Feliz Navidad Ethan ,🎄🎁🇵🇷
Have a very Merry Christmas 🎄 ✝️💜
In a 2960 house Ethan, you should have given us the peace sign along with the “what’s up guys?”
Interest rates have been high for years in the housing markets but now they are finally back to about 6 percent or so!
Yeah, it would have been a rotary phone in 1960and black. Most phones were black back then. Nice house .....big!!
You’re right Ethan, a turn style dial and a far different looking phone 60 years ago.
Glad you are feeling better, Bro..
I liked the layout of the basement with the pool bet it was nice for parties. The old style is neat. Sorry Ethan those curtains gotta go yuck LOL
Yes, Ethan, 60 years ago was the rotary dial. This push button was an upgrade maybe from the late 70’s or early 80’s.
One of my favorites! I wish i could live in it now!
Pella is a window manufacturing company out of Pella, Iowa.
1950s is when gas fireplaces became an alternative to wood
17:25 I couldn't help but to laugh! 😂
I remember Pella windows and doors. Feeling old
The countertop in the last bathroom was Formica #287 White Onyx popular into the 1990's
Great viedo Ethan ❤ take it easy and get back to 100% I know here at my house in beaumont texas area our family been battling it too hit me the worse of course 😂
I would pay $100 for that red wood burning stove. I love it!
I love that kitchen! That's the type of kitcen I want in my house!
Have a merry christmas ethan❤
I would love to live here, such a nice comfortable home
OCD Ethan with that floor! I love it! ❤
Love this style house
Ethan, stay safe. Great video, Merry Christmas and all the good wishes! 🎄 🎊
As per your comments towards the end, as a single guy, it annoys me tat I will have to completely work my assk off to get to a house like this. Even down here in the US, something like this is damn neat $800,000 to own! At least the part of the US I live and work in.
Push button phones started mid 60's. And Pella is a high end window and door co.. Big bucks.
That house looks more 60s, it looks like a house my aunt used to live in the staircase and wood panels are very typical of the 60s🎉 the fireplace could have been converted to gas ,are they planning to nock this one down as well.
The phone number would no longer be in service and if there is noise it doesn't mean anything unless there's a dial tone. That's how land lines work.
Nice home
Nice house.😊
Merry Christmas❤
I miss that old way of living! 😮
