2:22 the food was soo good the guy had to head bang for it. XD
I was looking for this comment! I noticed the headbang too! 😆
I don't remember the last time I head banged for my food 🍲🤔, I've gotta fly to Tokyo to experience this !! ✈️🗾😂
"damn"
Maybe he's drunk.
his face: DAMN that was good
yo, saying "okonomiyaki originated in hiroshima" is like declaring war against osaka
Yeah, but that version started in Hiroshima, Osaka has a different version I think. I prefer Hiroshima style
I Love Both
I would love to try both :(
both hiroshima and osaka okonomiyaki were originated in tokyo in 1920s.
@@icecube7685 both suck
Me:Too broke to go to Tokyo
Also me: Better watch it just in case
Conan Edogawa better get to work
Cool
But don't live in japan
Lol
says a pervert.
I've never heard Chinese accented Japanese before so it was interesting to hear about Qiu's story!
If you're not used to it, it can be difficult to understand sometimes. For some reason pretty much all of the mix up hard and soft consonants. "bunga" instead of "bunka" for example. The tenses are off sometimes, too.
It was very weird for me.
@@WWEMasterLucky1994 ? what's disrespectful
@@WWEMasterLucky1994 k you're def a troll
He's actually amazing being fluent in two of the hardest languages in the world.
HAAHHA, foolish of you to think I can afford a trip to Tokyo
Kit Kat I don’t think they assumed that r/
. Trip to Tokyo is fine. It’s living in Tokyo that’s the problem. Even anime animators from the best anime companies struggle to survive in Tokyo
Flight is cheap, less than $1000 round trip from the west coast of US. Food is fair priced since you don't need to pay taxes and tips. The only obstacle is finding a place. There is hardly any AirBnB or minpaku in Japan.
R/Woooooooooooooooooosshhh
@@toshi8569 Living there is a struggle. You can't buy a house unless you're very rich. Regular people usually just rent the house from the government or they live in an apartment, but an apartment is a bit narrow for families. It's much cheaper, or so I heard.
FYI Taiyaki Sakuraka Ginza is not open since May 2019 because of closure of the building. They have a shop in Nakameauro and Ebisu.
I recently tried Okonomiyaki and it made my dreams come true! It was so delicious!
I was wandering if you don't eat pork can you tell them to substitute it with beef or just take it out completely
KingSultanTV yes, you add or subtract anything, okonomiyaki translates to “as you like it” so go play around with toppings and fillings. Check out Simon and Martina’s video on okonomiyaki, they go over the classic version and a vegetarian version. If you have access to an asian market I highly recommend trying Cooking with Dog’s recipe (minus the pork).
@@viewerFAC dogs? 🤮
I lived in Japan and the "must try" for locals are definitely 1) Tonkatsu 2) Gyudon 3) Japanese Curry 4) Otoro sashimi
If you want people to try these, you should put the names of the places and their addresses in the description.
BananaCake26 they say names of those places in video. Even in which part of Toyko they are
Yes please!
Addresses (at least how we know of them) aren't as simple in Japan.
Unless it's changed in the 20 years since I lived there, there aren't really numbers and street names.
2:24 one of the moments you have to rewatch... dude is just like Yes!!
Reason to visit Japan:
1. Shopping at Nintendo Tokyo at Shibuya
2. Go to Super Nintendo World theme park
3. Visit Gundam Factory in Yokohama (or something like that)
4. Try out some delicious Japanese food.
5. Tokyo 2020 Olympic (?)
The most interesting part of this video was hearing the Gyoza chef with a Chinese accent speaking Japanese.
No
Yeah
Aww
No youre just boring
3:16 to be honest, I don't speak Japanese but he sounded as if was spitting some rhymes
Went to Japan and ate these food and let me tell you, they are *DIVINE*. There are absolutely nothing like those.
Everything looks so goooooood. Awesome video!
I have friends and family in Japan and this is my recomended food/dessertto eat in Japan
1 Dorayaki. 2 curry. 3 osembe. 4 tayaki. 5 mizuyokan. Hope you enyoy
Edit: OMG thank you sooooo mutch for all the like guys! I have newer have so mutch likes! Thank you😃
. Dorayaki, Mizuyokan and Taiyaki are great with tea. Osembe is the greatest break time snack of all time
i love sekkusu japan woemn
i luv hentai
Dorayaki is good! I've managed to by it in my country at times.
Can you suggest a couple of places? It’s my third trip and I’m always looking for new places to eat at. Thanks!!
2:24 He actually said "I think my Yakisoba are the most delicious in Japan" (=opinion), but your 'translation' is "Ours is the best in Japan" (=fact). How can you just translate an opinion as a fact?
Not everyone speaks Japanese calm down
And like do you know how many people say that their dish is the best of that dish legit everyone
@@jacobh.667 Looks like you don't even understand English.
Though similar, the nuance in their translation makes it seem as if he’s being cocky 🙁 when he’s j proud of his dish, like every chef out there
@@lukasmihara lmao
This is why I love this city
I'd like to try them all. Especially the filled dumpling things like perogies. Yum!
Thanks I'll make sure to visit them when I travel to Asia.
great timing! i will be going to tokyo in 2 weeks, so this gives me some ideas on what to try when i’m there
Gods speed
Perfect hot and humid for you
I always looking for great street food in Japan this video is one..❤️❤️
Hope we all get to try these some day
@Great Big Story you have no idea how i waited this..another episode of great big bites..
They all look so delicious.
Love The Cultured Videos
✨❤️
Mmmmm when i travelled japan, taiyaki with sweet potato was my go-to snack food. I moss it so much!!
Ahh my dream place to travel to, Japannnnn
I've been to Tokyo a couple of times. All of these are quite delicious and available everywhere. My personal ranking - 1) Okonomiyaki, 2) Gyoza, 3) Takoyaki, 4) Yakisoba, 5) Taiyaki. Mmmm, mmmm. 👍
Tosh T Thank you for the comment idé😃
I really don't get why this video is called "5 foods you need to try in Tokyo" while 4/5 things they mention are foods that not Tokyo, but other places are more famous for... ^^'
taiyaki 🤤🤤
I'm going to bite the bullet and finally try okonomiyaki and takoyaki. I always sike myself out because I dont think I'll like the brown sauce. If you could describe it since you enjoy it I would appreciate itA
@BabyBoyBelcher It's difficult to describe any brown sauce because they are made with so many fruits, veg, spices, etc. but if you know what Worcestershire sauce tastes like, you're close. But okonomi sauce is way sweeter. I'm certain if you go to a Japanese resto, you could get a taste even if you don't order okonomiyaki.
I like the pride each owner has in their food.
Really nice video!!! Gooood meals!!!
Yo Great Big Story another fine video and all but damn WHO PRODUCED THESE TRACKS PLEASE?🤓 The music is fresh!
Btw so many comments about being too poor to go to Tokyo: work towards it and visit that city, or anywhere else in Japan that you fancy. I’ve been around the world a fair bit and can assure you that if you make that trip it will be worth every effort you made to make your dream come true. Gambatte!
I love this 😊
Healthy street food..love it
Awesome, nice food 😍😍
Great content transistions 😍
Got to try the Gyoza and the fish look alike dessert😋😋
That gyoza place is really good, I randomly stumbled in there after a night out back in 2009.
Ahhhh I love me some taiyaki! Somi Somi has some good taiyaki! I definitely recommend it!!
Oh I miss Japan! Will be back!
That yakisoba looks delicious. I hope to taste it someday. It is one of my favorite japanese dish.
Next year I finally can taste all this delicious foods in Japan and Tokio
Nice one
I ll try to find these shops on my trip
The food is just so great that it fights back at ya 2:23
たこ焼き食べたくなりました。深夜に見てはいけない、本当に美味そうです。
Great video
Japan, here I come!
They seem very tasty, I wanna to try them one day!
2:22 I felt that in my soul. Me too man.
I've been going to that Taiyaki place for years. It's fantastic! Right by Shimbashi station on the border of Shimbashi and Ginza.
Always wanted to go to Tokyo, hope i can go one day
A chef's creation gets its worth... A person far far away from his kitchen is drooling only by watching his creation.
2:23 some great way to appreciate an outstanding food , think so!!!!!!
RIP Great big story 💔! You'll be missed🖖!!
I'm super hungry now 😍🤩😍
I went to Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan and my mom liked the okonomiyaki so much she started to make it at home
Man, that looks delicious
YES
Takoyaki has been my favorite food since childhood🤤
Happy 4 million
I tried all of these are they are all delicious
I'm very sure Ericsurf6 and John Daub loves this stuff!! 😁 I even think taiyaki with red bean paste or custard is so delicious; I tried a couple last December from Kevin's Taiyaki inside an Asian supermarket on Toronto's Bloor Street. Yummy! 😋
I’m a Yakisoba addict. I need to get me some of Japanese’s Yakisoba 😛
I love Japan, from India.
that yakisoba looks so good
I love Japanese food! 🤤
Tokyo is such a massive city
I even bought a Taiyaki machine from tokyo. gonna try this chocolate flavor at home.
My recommendation for a dessert to have in Japan is “shiratama zenzai” parfait! ✨
“zenzai” itself is a kind of Japanese traditional sweet dish made from sweetened adzuki bean, and when it’s topped with white, chewy “shiratama dango” (small, white dumpling balls made from refined rice flour) then it’s called as “shiratama zenzai”. But that’s not even the final form just yet! 😆 When you have the shiratama zenzai parfait, you’ll get a small portion of shiratama zenzai topped with matcha ice cream, kinako (roasted soybean flour), and a decent pour of brown sugar syrup! Mm-hm! 😋
I’m not even “someone with a sweet tooth”, but I can recommend shiratama zenzai parfait to you! 👌🏼
That yakisoba looks amazing.
It is good to be neighbor of Japan and China. All of us has amazing cuisine.
I've been fortunate enough to eat all of these in Osaka, and they're all delicious beyond your wildest dreams.
If you can only afford one trip in your whole life, I highly suggest making it a trip to Japan.
It's Look amazing
Great
Takoyaki is getting more and more famous here in the Philippines and it tastes really good!
Mas masarap pa rin ang squidballs
Anyone mapped out where the places are? Would have been nice if any info was in the video description as well.
u guys should do one in singapore
Thanks...
Now I'm Hungry.
And my fridge is empty.
nice video great big story can i use this in virtula tour thank you
Takoyaki one of the my fav foods
👍🏻
Love Japan from India❤️
2:20 the guy felt the love the chef put in his food.
2:22: hardcore headbang from the good ass food
Now I´m really hungry!
I've been to Japan last year, I had all these wonderful foods. I had Takoyaki in Osaka, Yakisoba in Tokyo, Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima, Gyoza in Kyoto and Taiyaki in Miyajima. One thing that I'd like to add is that true Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki has A LOT more cabbage than the one in the video!
wowie wow wow
i love japanese food & culture & anime too hehee 😂😉
오세륜 dear boy bts not Korea ,anime not Japan and Hollywood not America
more Japanese video please! :)
Damn this is making me hungry as heck......
I'm going in November...!!!
unfortunately I don't like seafood, so it may be a bit difficult but I'm willing to give it a try as long as the fish smell is not too strong.
You will not feel the smell of sea food from Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki.
We Japanese are waiting for you!
Editing is fire
⭐️
You're honestly better off going to Osaka for these foods.
Zoë Amber as someone who has been to Osaka 10 times, I wholeheartedly agree.
cheaper too,the stay i mean
@@gigipaul8066 dude I paid 2x for a hotel in Tokyo compared to a similar one in Osaka.
Okonomiyaki sounds like the bomb!
I had both Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki and I highly I highly recommend that try attest both
you guys need to do a germany episode
2:24 he really be feelin that yakisoba
Takoyaki is everywhere here in Indonesia
I'm Japanese. Is it real that you can buy Takoyaki everywhere in Indnesia?
@@user-ty5wx9ii3y yes it is a lot of japanese restaurant here, but different taste..
