JLR are NOT known for their reliability or electronic superiority are they !
So having a offroad vehicle HEAVILY reliant on all of the technology with which to solely operate the vehicle is a recipe for failure ..... at the most critical time .
Maybe not in the first year or two or even warranty period ( which given U.S JD power survey data I highly doubt ) but certainly 5 yrs plus .
If you owned one after such time them I am sure you would end up great friends with your local dealership service dept. .... and the local tow truck driver !!
We know several people who purchased Defender 2-3 years ago, they also have no issues. People are buying Defender even knowing about its reliably reputation because it is really awesome vehicle. We can say it is really the best….in any case, any car can be broken, but in case of Defender the enjoy of driving it compensates any issue…
@@DriveYourWay ..... yes , well I know a few people that have spent the obscene money required to buy one and have not even been offroad with theirs and the vehicles have had major techical faults . Also in the middle of the desert or outback these supposed happy owners you mention won't be singing it's praises when the technology shits itself and they are stranded or simply can't get it fixed as there are no computer technicians in the middle of nowhere !! Once they have the true Landrover / Unreliable experience in that scenario the smile will well and truly be wiped off of their faces !!

We were off-roading far-far away from cities and we had no worries about quality issues as we also had no problems with any of three different Defenders we were driving.

I own a disco sport, the engine mgmt light spends most of the time on, dpf related issue i believe, recently it failed to switch off, the failed to switch on,they make great lookin cars for sure but reliability just is not there.
