great series but I am wondering a) how many posts I need and where to locate them and b) where I locate the beam (distance from/to ledgerboard), do you discuss this in a diff video? thanks
How do you determine how many "ROWS" of beams are required? My understanding of this project and size of deck I thought only one beam would be required but the deck is being built with 2 beams.

@@ryanh4693 you are stating location between the footings. But the question was about distance between beams. looks like they set two beams between the house wall and outer edge of decking. They stated that entire deck would be 14ft and footings are 12'' in diameter, so the distance between beams would be 4ft.
Great job I can see lots of home owners and their handyman friends getting'er done with these videos.
Is it acceptable to use that L angle bracket in the corner? Or should I use a concealed joist hanger? Thanks again and awesome video.

Why 14 3/4” for the first post mark? Wouldn’t the CL for the post be at 15 1/4”? (1 1/2” rim joist + 1’ cantilever + 1 3/4” post center)
My guess is the rim joist wasn't included in the 12" overhang and his post is a 6x6 so 12+2 3/4 = 14 3/4

my speakers blew out when you hammered in that stake it was so loud.
So when you were trying to square the opposite side, you moved that string that means the first string also moved. Didn't it?
Hi, Thank for the video. What should be the distance between the beams? And what is the minimum distance?
It would be the maximum and I believe it's 8 ft which is why they went 7 ft 9
