The Bangles were definitely underrated as a pop band. When you think of 'all female pop band' maybe you think of the Go-Go's, but this band is SO much better.
lol .. the Go Gos are in the Hall of Fame. The BangGals are considered a joke band by the Hall.

Oh noh! Belinda Carlisle towered above everyone in the Bangels, and their harmonies were only third to Abba and the original Beach Bois! Don't even fantasize that the Bangels could hold a candle to the Beach Bois daughters! They both had atrocious drummers because I've only heard ONE female drummer that I like. But definitely, I favor the Go Go's over the Bangels in terms of overall talent. The harmonies of the Go Go's successfully duplicated the vocals in the Beach Bois and Abba. The Go Go's are the last band to accomplish this.
@@Benevolar There is no comparison between the Bangles and the GoGo's. The Bangles win and the ratings confirm it. There is not a single hit by the GoGo's that I really like. Debbi is not so bad but if you want to know the name of a very good female drummer, that is Roxy Petrucci (Vixen).

Michael Steele was such a freakin’ bad ass. She was just who she was. Much respect to her.
Fun fact; for a very brief moment in time, she was a member of the Runaways w/ Joan Jett & Lita Ford. It was during the latter days when they had trouble finding and keeping bass players.
My favorite from the group was always Michael! Bad ass guitar smokin hot woman!

@@richardds9 Actually, she was their first bassist and singer. Glad that the Goldstar demos have surfaced. Cherie Currie was cool and all, but Micki's vocals on those songs were vastly superior. The idiot A&R guy who rejected the Runaways based on Michael's singing shouldn't have been taken seriously.
I like The Bangles poster on the wall of the guys room. Also, Suzanna is gorgeous here.

I'll never forget it. I was a little girl, in the 1980s. I was on vacation in NY, in the Catskills at a family owned hotel. I started playing with another girl that was on vacation, and it was in the game room, there was a jukebox. She put some quarters in, and played The Bangles. I loved it. When I went home, I asked my mom to buy me their tape.
How can this be so perfectly 80s? Thank you Bangles ❤️

Lots of beautiful lead singers, Belinda Carlisle, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and others I'm sure I missed - but no one ever worked allure so well, was so world class beautiful and as memorable and sexy a voice as Susanna Hoffs. The fact that she is still so cool, so grounded and so beautiful at 62 tells you she's always been the real deal
I just rediscovered them and watched recent live stuff. Hoffs is still amazing at 62.
Plus Susanna Hoff had really good Parents (Having Money and BOTH Parents REALLY Helps in raising Children)

I first saw the bangles in 1983 at a college daytime show, they were still unsigned and a 60's garage band, to watch them become so huge was awe inspiring, they are all super talented and Sue has that special voice, no girl band has ever come close to achieving what they did in the 80's

@@skivvywaver It was the Runaways. The original all female punk/rock band. The Black Hearts were the back up band for Joan Jett who was rhythm guitarist for the Runaways.
The Heavy Metal band Vixen was all female and probably the best musicians of the bunch.
The go gos first album was a smash. Everything on it was really good.

When I was younger, I was so hung up on Susanna Hoffs (for good reason), that I neglected to notice how beautiful the rest of the band was. 4 hotties, good music, no wonder they did so well as a band.
The very thought of Susanna Hoffs "in my room" and promising she'll "do anything you want me to" is enough to give me a heart attack!

Most of their songs were written by others though. This one's by Steinberg & Rowles who also wrote Like A Virgin.

"Everything" is one of those albums you can listen to all the way through, never skip a song. Don't believe they ever got enough credit for their songwriting, vocals and musicianship. Like every guy I had a crush on Hoffs, but they all are great looking.

My favorite Bangles song. When Susan rips the line 'Feel Good!' in the break her voice breaks loose and rocks out. That little babe could sing a song. Still can.
Her 'Eternal Flame' performance was the greatest piece of vocal I ever heard from a girl.
