Dr Beckstrand, I just wanted to tell you thank you, thank you, thank you, for this video. I have had forward-head posture issues for years causing severe trap and shoulder pain, neck pain and migraines. This video has almost completely gotten rid of my chronic upper back pain. I so appreciate you sharing your knowledge and I now plan on trying the 10 minute video you posted in the comments as well. Have a blessed day!
Perfect timing for this my neck and back been paining everyday at home while i work on the computer and phone hope your foot feels better soon love your channel sooooooooooooooo much love your exercises sooooooooooooo much
Thanks so much, Ramya! I hope these things I share continue to help you to improve. Foot's feeling great! The boot SHOULD come off next week. Thanks so much for the well-wishes!
Thank you! I drove for seventeen hours 2 weeks ago. And my upper back on one side was so painful for a few days. Yesterday I drove for nine hours. My back hurts, but I plan to do these exercises often so I won't have to pop ibuprofen every few hours for days. The same thing happened in 2017 and the pain never really went away completely. I was able to get rid of my neck hump following one of your videos (and doing the exercises often). So I trust this set of exercises, too. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome, Diann Hall! I hope they help you and you don't have any more long drives coming up in the future! Thanks for commenting and for your support.
This was my first time performing these exercises. The before and after comparison and the mat was amazing. Definitely will add these exercise to my daily routine. Thank you so much!!!
Your original post on these exercises was, I think about 8-12 months ago?? Regardless, I did these the first time you put it out and what GREAT results I get from doing this as an add-on to my daily/weekly routine!! Thank you so much!!
That video is actually 2 1/2 years old! 🤯 They're absolutely some of my favorite exercises, so I thought it could use a little facelift! 😂 Regardless - thanks for your support and kind comment, Kathleen! I hope these continue to help you!
Dr. Beckstrand, Thank YOU! I've only done this once, but yes, at the end, when I laid on the floor after the routine, the difference was amazing. This is an excellent session, I can't recommend it enough.
I’m 16 with a bad posture. I’m really trying to get it fixed, and during the second exercise I could literally hear my bones and muscles dislocating/rearranging. When finished with the exercises, I laid down again, and I felt both my shoulder blades touching the floor. The pressure was gone. It felt so good I actually cried 😭😭 Tysm for this. Appreciated!!!
Hi Jared, the audio again sounds muffled. Your earlier videos did not have this audio distortion. Not sure if you can fix this but it would help alot going forward in your future videos. Thank you for all of your hard work in providing us these types of videos!
I have acoustic panels everywhere in my gym and I bring in large blankets to cover flat surfaces behind the camera. If you have any other suggestions on how to improve the audio I would be more than happy to hear them! Thanks for your support and feedback, Stephen, and I hope the videos help you!
Wow, just doing this once has made a huge difference, will try to do 3 times a day as suggested with the weights exercises too. Can’t wait, I suffered from bad posture for a long time! Thank you
Thanks Alot !! Sir i was having severe pain in my hands 3 months ago, was even unable to wear a shirt and had gone through various physio sessions and medicine but none of them worked. But when i started these exercises in 15 -20 days i felt huge difference. Now i am perfectly fine. Really greatfull to you. 🙏 Kindly also suggest some specific exercise for tail bone pain. Thanks.
when I laid down at the end of the exercise, i was like what? the most effective and instant posture exercise i have ever seen. works like magic😮in the beginning i only felt my bladebones on the floor and after the exercise, i felt it touching up to my neck....thank you so much this is what i look for🤩
These exercises seem good. Will try them. First, need to buy foam roller. I tried your previous next exercises and doing them. Giving a lot of relief. Thank you for your concern.
@@toneandtighten Sir I am your new subscriber today i have a poor bad posture. so I saw all the videos about your posture correction .. Great routine! And the pain in my neck has gone...well, it has moved into the shoulder and upper arm. Still, a lot more comfortable than the pinched nerve pain.
Honestly, I thought I wasted $30 on the foam roller as I was doing the exercises, thinking it wasn’t doing anything. But I laid on the ground afterwards and you are right, what an amazing difference!
Hello , and thank you for the video. My daughter having a posture problem. We didn't try your exercises yet. What foam roller are you using? She is a beginner . Thank you
Ahhhmazing! It took me to the end of the two minutes to get to your recommended range on some of them - is it okay to keep going past the 2 minutes once I have loosened up to the correct point? Than you so much for your expertise and help!!
Totally normal to take a little longer getting to end range on these exercises... that's why we go for at least two minutes! As long as it's comfortable and as long as you're not forcing it into painful motions you're totally fine to do these a little longer. Hope they help you, SouthernBelle007, and thanks for commenting!

I’ve really enjoyed this routine but started experiencing chest pain from it about a week later. I’m sure I performed one of the exercises incorrectly but wondering if that is a common possibility? Just trying to rule out something more severe.
I was told during a foam rolling class that you should not arch your back the way you are. You should tilt your pelvis so that it is flat, tighten your core, and tuck your chin so that it is as flat asgainst the roller as possible. Form is important.
Hey J the roller exercise where you raise your hands above head, is that similar to the wall version. Which one is easier? That movement is a big stiff 🤪
Hi Gaby! The roller version is passive (stretching) - gravity takes you arms down towards the floor. The wall version is active (strengthening) as your muscles have to pull your knuckles back to the wall. Often if patients are struggling with the wall, the solution is to work the roller for a week or two to help them get there. Hope that helps! 🙌🏼

Quick question on the Foam Roller overhead and snow angels. It looks like you ar keeping a bend in the elbows...not forcing the arms to be straight. Is that correct? Thanks!

I just can’t lay down my arms all the way down like you did at 3:22 without feeling significant, almost painful, discomfort n my shoulders. Always been like that, as far as I can remember.
