In the future if people go to other galaxies and planets don’t touch things just take pictures and leave because you just might wake up the end of Humanity. Rest In Peace to Captain Janik and his two crew members on the USCSS Prometheus they are the real MVPs.
Man, I still remember well seeing this in theaters and feeling like the opening setup and David by himself holding the ship down and how he staves off boredom was the best part of the film. Somehow, something ticked me in a bad way that the introduction of the rest of the crew was going to make it steadily go downhill and I don't know why. Also, props to this moving for how I was introduced to Idris Elba proper and pretty much saying "I want to keep up with his work" proper after Pacific Rim.
17:40 Notice how the earth looks exactly like Earth today, rather than Earth from whenever Engineers created human life. Not sure if it's a sin or not, but I think that's interesting and has some implications. Does it mean they have been secretly mapping us all this time or something ?

Stanford and Yale have conducted large scale randomized studies on mask effectiveness. They found that there is about a 10% reduction in Covid infections if masks are worn. So, if 20 out of 100 people get Covid without masks, then with masks only 18 would. But wait, there's more! This was for surgical masks. With cloth masks (which 99% of people wore during the pandemic, the effecacy was only 5%. Meaning, if say, 20 out of 100 people got Covid normally, then with masks, 19 of out the 20 still would. Cloth masks basically did very little to combat Covid. The mental health effects of isolation and never seeing people face to face probably outweigh the minimal improvement in infection rates provided by cloth masks. Again. These are studies by Yale and Stanford. Aside from Harvard, they are the most prestigious colleges in the world.

God damn, this re-sin was fucking savage. This is the first sins video I've seen since the F9 video that I can't be mad at. That is, you took the time with the sins and pointed out legitimate ones pretty much the entire way through.
27:15 "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." LOL. The Doctor was my favorite character from Voyager.
10 year anniversary of the founding of the prestigious Prometheus School of Running Away From Things!
12:38 "This is just another tomb."
Worst. Archaeologist. Ever.
Classic. Also if the Redhead guy has an accent, and the main lady has an accent, why can't the spaceship captain speak with the actor's actual accent? I wonder who makes these decisions, and why.
I AM SO HAPPY THAT THEY STARTED IT WITH THANKING THE MOVIE FOR STARTING THAT SIN.
I would like to appreciate my gratitude for that as well.
*and is that a different guy doing the sinning?*
It’s Chris, the other founder of CinemaSins
I do not know why dude decided he would try to pet that serpent like creature when it clearly folded out it's hood in an aggressive defensive posture. The first thought that would have popped into my mind is this thing reminds me too much of a cobra. I'm not trying to get close to it.
And you would have better self preservation skills than that guy
Logic goes strictly against the writers plan for this movie.
@19:06 if the med pod was only used for males, Miss Vickers what was the point of you even bringing it on the ship
No Jeremy, No Watchie.
The fact that this is narrated by Chris fills my heart with joy, Happy anniversary Cinemasins!
Another sin: The hologram of Earth totally discounts what we know about plate tectonics and the Pangea.
My main reaction is: holy fuck , already 10 years!? Time does fly!
It’s been ten years of great videos, sinning, and its awesome!
26:54 Your videos make me smile, chuckle and laugh sometimes, but the Data sound overlay made me laugh some much, that I knocked my coffee off my desk. You are a genius!
Never knew how much I wanted Chris to narrate until right now
His voice is so goooood 🥰
I don't know if Chris did the writing too, but this is one of the funniest in a long time. Love all the references and the comedic timing is spot on.
@@sharkieshablm2640 Im not a nazi! Whats wrong with you? Leave me alone!
Geez...
YESSS! I enjoy Jeremy as the narrator but I’m glad it’s Chris for this one it wouldn’t make sense other wise. 😂
It's such a tiny part of this video but Fk I love that " did u see what god just did to us man?"
Best movie ever.
Now that needs a sin in
The original script and deleted scenes where so good it made no sense that those scenes where deleted
I've been upset about that since highschool
@@senju31 the whole original script is online it makes everything make sense and deleted scenes where so much better then what they went with.
Hello
The cut scenes of the life probes and dory at the end got me so good 😂
Prometheus is 10 years old, but looks better than 90% of today's movies. Look at the effects and everything, it is beautiful.
A polished turd is still a turd.
The movie looks great, but it's story and writing are still just as bad as 99% of today's movies.
I can't believe that it's ten years old, and that depresses me.
Talk about?
Which makes all of these dumb moments even more unforgivable. We'd forgive them in a trash B-movie, not in a movie of this caliber. 'Here little snake alien lifeform, here sweetie'
I'm glad you're finally lengthening up the old sin counts and I'm glad my comment about the founding members of the Prometheus school of running away from things was finally answered in this It's only been a year or more since I made that comment.!!!
I'm so glad you made this longer!
I really hope u keep doing this even after 10 years. So many great old movies in.... dated, videos
The "Old Spice" jingle f**king killed me. 🤣
This is the most passionate sin reading I have heard, and all the better for it.
Oh fuck YES, I wrote on another video that they better do Prometheus! Thank you CS, I love you guys ❤️❤️❤️
FIRST thing I thought of when coming back for this 10th Anniversary sinn'n (Prometheus School of Running Away). Fifteen billion square acres around and swear I shouted this at my cat just last week refusing to get out of wheelbarrow path AND SURE I shouted this at everything from Ring Necked Pheasants to rabbits to cattle, all honorable graduates! Was nature long before CinemaSins but damn if youse didn't define it and forever turn frustration into a laugh. "JUST GO TO THE SIDE!"
In the future if people go to other galaxies and planets don’t touch things just take pictures and leave because you just might wake up the end of Humanity. Rest In Peace to Captain Janik and his two crew members on the USCSS Prometheus they are the real MVPs.
I come back to this once a month to hear you say, “HE IS LOOKING RIGHT AT THE GLASS!”
10 years since it came out?…. Holy fuck I’m old
YOU’RE old? I remember seeing the original Alien film on it’s release back in ‘79!
@@AtheistOrphan shush I’m having my midlife crisis early xD
I didn’t see it in theaters on its original release. I was a Month old 😮
Talking about Alien, not Promethious
surprised you didn't sin David shining a flashlight at a HOLOGRAM to see it better...
David was the best part of the movie. He was cool.
17:40
Notice how the earth looks exactly like Earth today, rather than Earth from whenever Engineers created human life.
Not sure if it's a sin or not, but I think that's interesting and has some implications. Does it mean they have been secretly mapping us all this time or something ?
You are correct... its strange not many have noticed this but they couldnt have this model of earth... the vfx guys forgot about plate tectonics.
i watched this movie on lsd with a friend and we cried through the whole thing, so beautiful.
Ig acid really does make u rtarded
Not a single crack about how the weylands were dressed like Dr. Evil
Honestly given the reaction to masking there was during quarantine I'm totally willing to believe these people took off their helmets on the unexplored alien planet
Excellent point 😂

Crazy how RUclips won’t let people respond to this comment
Hmmm makes sense if David chose the crew it would mean people unable to work together with sup par skills were purposefully chosen to fail. Would make David even more unsettling.
10 years???? I remember seeing the original vid in my recommended list, I was 15 years old that’s insane
I think it was only the 4th Sins video they'd done at that point and the only one not narrated by Jeremy.
'I am surrounded by idiots!' David seemed genuinely worried and totally lost there.
Your end credits always make me smile! Thanks CS!
I came back to this to feed my CinemaSins nostalgia fix, and stayed just to show love to Chris' work as the narrator that I don't see enough other people showing here.
I remember that I watched the other video a couple hours after when it first came out 10 years ago. Wow.
Anyone else (for no real reason at all) not enjoy them as much when this guys doing the sinning?
When this movie was announce to be released I was so excited. My son in law took me to the theater, ( my daughter didn't like Alien) I was so happy to be seeing this. When we left the theater I felt robbed. This was a huge piece of shit. The visuals was great but the storyline sucked. When will writers understand there will never be an answer for the unexplained?
Now after watching this again, I'm glad shaw was tortured and killed off-screen between 2 movies. Good job David.
I can't believe you didn't sin the fact that they're debrief about the mission after months or years of traveling. And here I am convinced to not move a single muscle to go out with friends until they tell me where we're actually having dinner.
They started the conversation just before hopping in the stasis pods and 1000 years later continue it as if no time has passed.
They're being briefed, not debriefed. Debriefs happen after the mission or project is complete.
Yooo I JUST watched the original sin video for this like 2 days ago. Didn't have a clue it was the 10th anniversary. So glad there's a new video for this!
Popped onto RUclips and this is the first thing I see. Started dying laughing because this movie has inspired one of the longest running jokes in CinemaSins history and here it is again. And I am totally freakin here for it. We applaud you!
Yes... it is indeed- a running joke.
@andyjacobs7010 Lol this is gold 😂
Yeah Idris Elba him and his crew went out like some soldiers. If you think the bet's off you have another thing coming. You can pay me on the other side.
Sorry but I can't listen to these videos without Jeremy
i am glad that i can attend the anniversary of The Prometheus school of running away from things
gotta put it in my CV
If you're continually walking to someone who's holding a flamethrower and you know they're willing to use it, and they're telling you to back off that's suicide.
Nope. That still counts as murder.
@@999SickBoy666 Nope. It’s standing your ground and considered self-defense. Just because you take a life doesn’t mean it’s murder. Murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of a person, killing them when you feel threatened and have warned them to stay back isn’t murder unless you planned for the encounter to play out specifically that way.
I always loved the fact that the geologist with the cool 3D mapping pods ‘got lost’.
Everything Wrong With Free Bird (2013) for Thanksgiving.
Or Thankskilling
It’s the movie where they go back in time to the first thanksgiving to get turkey off the menu.
Laughed so much when you said the scientists were ‘on a mission from god’ and the blues bros popped up 👏
Really liking the new format. I don't think anyone really cares about whether an object in the background was in one scene, then gone in another, but fully exploring plot holes and motivations is ma pudding.
Crazy how I’ve been on a rewatch of the alien / Prometheus movies and now this comes out
