I used to work for the health dept and you wouldn't imagine the things I've seen. Just letting you folks know that it's a RISK going out to eat! You have a better chance of cooking food in your own kitchen.
...you are correct . Unless you've SEEN that Kitchen .. it's a gamble, gping out to dine .... having worked in a Restaurant, decades ago ... I know the Protocols and we never were rated anything under an " A" . A lot of states REQUIRE that the Health District Rating be posted conspicuously in the Front window... , which should be the absolute " Normal " .
Many years ago a friend of mine told me her brother had gone into a Chinese restaurant kitchen to make a delivery.... And the Chinese Chef was beating and tenderizing a piece of meat.... He noticed that the piece of meat had than fallen on the floor of the kitchen.... And instead of him picking it back up and putting it on the table after washing it or throwing it away in the trash... He got down on his knees and continue to hammer snd tenderize the rest of the way straight on floor... And then placed in the pan..... My friend never ate at another Chinese restaurant....
You can't be safe anywhere, these are only reports of a little patch of restaurants that they found. Any of your favorites is doing something wrong something stupid I guarantee you, learn how to cook.
Asian places always seem dirty to me. Unless it's high end I don't eat at them. One time with coworkers we went to a place. Kitchen curtain, not door got stuck open. Saw an old lady cutting something on a piece of wood on the floor. We left.
Unfortunately there’s several Jim’s the exact same way. I went to 2 different ones one night bc the first one I went to had a roach crawling on my seat, so went to another one same crap a roach crawling on the floor. So yeah I won’t eat there anymore 🤢
After the things I've seen on bar rescue, I know to watch the bartender for my drinks to make sure there's no bugs in the liquor bottles. I've only seen fruit flies personally
Im.sorry but them Asian restaurants always fail i wont eat in Chinese restaurants anymore ..i don't eat out much period everything is so expensive so these restaurants owers are going to cute corners to make it work so eating out at a lot of theses restaurants is not in the plans these days stop giving them passes and jusy shut them.down

Chinese restaurants seem to not do well with inspections. Look at your local food inspection scores.
