- In this video we're comparing every merry go round in the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise.
Hello Tycooners! Today I'm showing you a breakdown of every merry go round in the official series of RollerCoaster Tycoon. We're covering the original RCT from 2000, RCT2, which is actually OpenRCT2. We're also doing RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, and the infamous RollerCoaster Tycoon World, which is a control failure in and of itself. I'm also going to show you a little bit about the merry go round music from each game. I hope you like this video! Which merry go round is your least favorite and why?

Worst is RTC Puzzle 😅
Really, I like all of them. Plus I can't rate anything from RCT3 bad because it was the first RCT game that allowed you to be on the ride for testing or for fun. And you could release wild animals and chase the visitors around the park with them. RCT3 didn't look that well, but it was fun on its own.

That's essential. It's cheap, has good music and it quickly attracts visitors compared to more complex rides that take longer to construct. You can't go wrong with a merry-go-round.
Your definitely right Cody! The original merry go round in Rct1 is the best. I have the best memories of that game and that merry go round. Every park I play I gotta place a merry go round, except for the parks where guests prefer high intensity rides!

I know it's technically a re-skin but the double-decker carousal is actually pretty cool and definitely way better than the ones in 3-4(world). I wish it had been available in more scenarios.

I always hated that there was no merry go round track in RCT3, as much as I like the music in that game. It seems like it’s made out of paper too. The ride cycles are quite short, so I always set it to two or three laps.

The RCT1 carousel does have one fatal flaw: no profit. If you charge for park entry, once the ride is only a few months old, guests will refuse to pay even the minimum fee of $0.10. The Ferris wheel and haunted house also have this problem. If the park has free admission, you can charge the excitement value of a ride no matter how old it is, but this strategy does have its own drawbacks as well, namely that you get nothing from guests who go home right away and those who do stay run out of money faster.

In RCT1 and its Corkscrew Follies expansion pack, the colors couldn’t be changed, so you were stuck with the original yellow with red trim. The Loopy Landscapes expansion pack added the new ability to change its colors and that other suggested colors like red, azure, and gray when you built it right from using the Build New/Ride Attraction window.
And yes, RCT3’s rendition is obviously the worst due to the lack of its own fairground organ songs and being more like a gazebo top.

In Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 you'll have to import your own carousel music for the Merry Go Round.

The first two games are the best version of not just the merry go round but of everything. Even more so when playing them on OpenRCT2. I always put a merry go round as the starting ride. It's basically the very soul of RCT itself.

RCT 1 is a Legend it self. like all those games. from 90s came many great games with classic pixelart graphics, not so concerned to perfect flawless graphics, but they are so enjoyable. and on that graphics, what a details. :D . in modern days, focus on the perfect graphics increase requirements on the hardware, and sucked out all of the fun and those lovable datails. in my opinion, best Merry go round what i like is in RCT 1 and two. iconic fairground music, sometimes funny breakdowns, beautiful details, and fairground music which could be heared in many real parks.
