  • The ProtoArc EM01 trackball mouse is something I haven't used in quite some time and although there is an adjustment period when using it there is the potential for it to pay off with quicker mouse movement when compared to a traditional mouse.

Logitech M570, Logitech MX ERGO Plus, Logitech M575, Nulea M501(a copy of the Logi M570 but with chargeable battery), and Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Wireless Trackball, owned in that order. (Thumb ball enthusiast?)
This mouse is a near copy of the Logitech MX ERGO Plus with some upgrades such as USB-C/50% of the price.
I 100% agree that the forward and back buttons are hard to use they are really small.
There are dpi settings but it's only 3 DPI levels (1000/1600/2400 DPI)
It's definitely a cheaper version of the Logitech MX ERGO.
It does appear to have a scroll side-to-side tilt and middle click on the scroll wheel
Be warned the RGB seriously reduces charge runtime.

Which wrist / palm rest pad is that? PS: Hows the Trackball now after few months?

I've only ever used a logitech trackball (M570 or Ergo M575), so there was zero learning curve for me. Basically, if you enjoy either of the aforementioned logitech tb's, there's no reason that I can find that you wouldn't enjoy the Protoarc...they all being pretty much the exact same with the exception of the RGB lighting, dpi button and device select button.

I’m trying to find a mouse that can help me use excel for school . I’m overcoming a severe brain injury so my hands really don’t open to my control. If I click the button would it stay pressed to help me drag and select cells? Do you know?

I have used a logitech mx ergo trackball for some time now. The protoarc trackball looks like someone copied the entire mxergo design from the key placements, including the forward/backward buttons to the 20% angle change. The mxergo also has its own software including dpi programming and button remapping. I can't think of any reason why someone would want the protoarc trackball over the mxergo.

price and RGB but i would still recommend the MX ergo over this as you really can customize the RGB so that aspect is pointless for me

I own both and they have their strengths and weaknesses when compared. The MX Ergo has a better feeling build quality and the buttons click better. The ProtoArc does not feel cheap at all, has 1 more wireless connection option and a higher DPI setting. If the protoarc had the left and right-click of the MX ergo I would prefer it, the soft buttons click too easily as they are now.

@@franksinatra8211 yes the protoark has 1 extra wireless connection but it dose not have any wired connectivity as ware the MX ergo dose so if you want to use the protoark on a device without wirelessly connecting it you cant but you can with the MX ergo

@@rayzimmermin I'm a big fan of the MX Ergo. I hope they do a 2022 refresh and bring a couple more features to the device.

@@franksinatra8211 the only two things i do not like about the MX Ergo is the rubberized plastic that always gets nasty after a couple years and the stock ball it comes with feels gritty when rolled so i replace them with aftermarket balls i curranty own two MX Ergo's one i have sitting on my desk and the other i have attached to a sim rig

why the F are out putting that on your powerplay the mettle base will hurt your powerplay never put mettle on an induction charger it clearly states that in the instructions

I’m assuming you mean ‘metal’ and not “mettle”. It’s not a metal base the whole thing is plastic.

@@1UpNerdcore sorry i have dyslexia so spelling is not my strong suit
and in most other images and revies i have seen it looks metal and the one on the MX ergo that it is clearly a clone of is metal so i figured it was metal also to give it the weight to keep it from sliding arround
if its not metal then i guess its OK but you should not be getting use to putting things an induction chargers that should not be on an induction charger only put the mice its made for on their just to be on the safe side
