Holy shit, an actual Transformer wouldn't be as complicated as this toy. I finally managed to find one and ordered him, but I think he'll be in robot mode forever.
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer , i have found out that this year or next year , Takara Tomy is making a MP-39 sunstreaker , so people can stop getting bad cube sunsurge
maxwell maldonado actually, the day after I heard it was announced and saw the pictures I grabbed myself sunsurge. if Takara is going to make faux parts for a car bot and still charge 120, there's no way I wasn't getting an equivalent with a better head for half the price
all i am trying to say is that you can check tfsource.com and any other toy website that sells masterpiece figure and takara legends figure that are being preordered
Man, this thing is an engineering marvel!! It's also quite a puzzle-former. But it has to be to make a Walther P38 into an animation-accurate Megatron. When Sunbow redesigned his stubby Diaclone robot form into Megatron for the show, it was to idealize his proportions to look more humanoid and dynamic for animation. It utilized a lot of "anime magic" that couldn't be replicated in the real world, which is why the toy version HAD to look the way it did....back in the 80s. Now, toy engineering tech has finally advanced far enough to give us the Megatron we wanted as kids, although with a lot of jigsaw-type panels in alt-mode. That's just the way it has to be because this gun was never meant to turn into a robot. Unlike the Macross VF-1 Valkyries, Transformers mostly had real-world alt-modes of vehicles and objects that were never originally engineered to turn into robots. That's why the only G1 toy that had good articulation in bot mode was of course, the Macross VF-1 recolored as Jetfire. The modern VF-1 toys look anime-accurate AND also have the exact same simple transformation from the anime. That's because they were just loosely based on the F-14, but were a totally original jet that was designed from the ground up to transform into a piloted robot. These Masterpiece Transformers, on the other hand....damn, they're complicated and they have to be to look right and work right.
MP10 (Optimus Prime 2.0), MP12 mold (Sideswipe and the other Lamborghini Countach peeps that ain't Sunstreaker), MP13 (Soundwave), MP15 & 16 (the Tape Minions), MP17 mold (the Datsuns: Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen), MP24 (Starsaber), MP27 mold (Ironhide & Ratchet), and MP28 (Hot Rod) would all care to disagree, as they're all pretty simplistic in their transformations.
Did fine Transforming Megatron from bot mode to gun mode. Transforming him back however proves to be a challenge, particularly the legs. Kinda stuck at 4:20 where you need to expand the legs and worried that my man-child strength would just rip the sides apart. Gonna try to be careful but if it doesn't budge, then I'll have to keep it at gun mode until I find a solution.
i super appreciate the work you did for this. this is definitely the most cohesive transformation video ive seen, and you adding your own audio steps to explain it with each bit really polishes it up making it so much easier to understand. im about to get this figure and im not even gonna bother looking at the instructions sheet since you made this. the amount of patience you must have for this craft is absolutely incredible.
For a review/transformation you were bored with; this is the best one I've seen period. So much so I'm saving this as my transformation guide when ever I feel like flagellating myself. Keep up the great work! Keeping you and your family in my prayers in regards to recent event in your life. Peace bro!
great video, but one little note... the non fusion cannon forearm, that panel should be unfolded for bot mode. When folded, it creates the rear iron sight for the gun mode. He's become one of my favorite transformations thus far!
Okay, finally transformed Megatron into gun, truly a masterpiece (original instructions a little hard to follow). Now to use it to hold up the local store so hopefully I can get enough money and buy a second Masterpiece Megatron so I can keep that in robot mode. Can't see clerk convincing police that they were held up by Megatron. Overall, great guide, now consuming liquid courage to get funds for second Megatron.
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer i heard that the last video you made for combiner wars bruticus. i found out that unite warriors has a new UW-EX balgius with a remake of the transformers robots in disguise 2001 or in japan transformers car robots compaticons
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer its me maxwell maldonado thanks for responding and i just want to say that the mp-36 megatron video is nice and i hope you can do masterpiece artfire with targetmaster
You doing a transformation - 'fold here, flip this, rotate that, flip here....' Me doing the same thing - 'fold here, please dont break, please dont break, please dont break.... ' Fantastic video! Thank you so much!
I got a really high quality knockoff of this figure but for some reason the arms don't push in all the way meaning there is a gap in the gun mode ruining the illusion and in robot mode the left shoulder refuses to plug in while the right is completely solid any ideas
That's interesting that a lot of people need to loosen the screw on the hinge between his hips, cause I felt like mine had a lot of other much more scary tolerances. If I just rotate his hips so that I can push perpendicular to his hip ratchets you can use his whole leg as a lever and I've never had to apply much pressure. It's just tricky to rotate the hips into the correct position. There are, however, SEVERAL hinge joints that are square shaped for sake of smooth square outside panels which I find to be much scarier to force into place. Specifically around his arms.
I didn't have the hip joints lined up and couldn't get the barrel strait! Took me a half an hour to figure it out. There is a Takara Tomy quality check guy who needs some screws loosed on his desk chair!
Thanks for the video, l discovered that the figure I bought for my father's birthday wasn't broken, the right side abdomin panel wasn't in the lowered position when MP-36 was packaged. What a relief there is no way I would have gotten a replacement with all this Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you again.🙂👍
This video was a God send! It was easier to put him in gum mode than to transform him back😅 Im gonna transform him once a month until I have it memorized. Thanks!!
Dude that video was amazing, thanks for the heads up about the hips and that screw. I searched for and watched your video during my 1st transformation as the instructions are freakin tiny. I had him in gun mode just long enough to take a few "see i did it" picture and now he is safely back in Robot mode where he will start for ever more. This figure was created by an evil genius but I actually had to trim down the plastic hinge that lets the barrel flip down as the tolerances between that plastic hinge and the metal barrel were just too tight and it was going to snap before it would have moved. thanks again :)
Alright, that is one sweet looking Megatron... but that transformation complexity, geeze! No offense to anyone who gets this figure, as I truly admire your dedication to G1 accuracy. As for myself, however, I don't even feel bad about skipping this.
I have a some of questions. first how do you afford your figures? do you have fundraisers or just save money? two what stop motion program do you use and how do you edit the videos? and three who is your favorite transformer (preferably autobot and decepticon)
Levi Blanchard for Megatron, I had to sell a buttload of figures. usually I have to save up, and even then I get KO's i used to use iMotion HD for iPhone, but I bricked my 5s, so I now use Stop Motion Studio for Android. from there I export to video and edit with Adobe Premiere my tastes have changed recently. i ised to say Jazz and Thundercracker, lately I want to say Brawn and Soundwave
Cool, thanks I am revamping my (horrible) stop motion channel. I personally like thundercracker (I'm getting a ko version of the hasbro mp) and tracks (same deal). I really enjoy stop motion and have a sense of sympathy and respect for anyone else who does animations. thanks for replying you are my favorite youtuber as of right now (did I mention how funny your overloads are, especially the thundercracker kreo scene).
A very complicated Masterpiece. One for true collectors who have the money for it. Nice job, LER. I'll send you the cash for the figures before the end of June. Sorry for the extremely long delay, I've been sick, injured and got lots of damn exams.
yeah, wasn't a fan. it's more white and less silver to make it cartoon acurate, and I'm perfectly happy with my semi toon, semi toy accurate MP12 original. thanks though
one more thing you need to The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer. i know that takara are making transformers legends sixshot. with its g1 colors. and there are other legends figures like hot rod. he now looks like g1 hot rod or in japan hot rodimus and comes with a targetmaster and other legends figure from lg-45 all the way to lg-52
I've got the IT ko version and the damn dangly bottom-of-feet bits that fold up and out and whatnot that are metal never wanna stay together in robut mode. Then again, I'm more of a poser than a player with the toys, so it's not terrible. Still.
10 month old comment, so you may have figured it out by now, but the feet don't lock into the legs until you compress everything with the skirt armor. On the rocker joint, the outsides go down while the insides go up.
So I was transforming this thing. And then I had to go to work, leaving it half transformed. I say naively before sitting here in awe.
Great video! Love the stop motion as always
Step 1: Follow the instructions
Step 2: Transform back
Step 3: NEVER TRANSFORM IT AGAIN
idk, I'll take this transformation over Apollyon any day
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer I'll take this *figure* over Apollyon any day

I can't be the only one who enjoys the transformation and doesn't mind doing it several times a week right?
This cannot be be anymore complicated than some of the Transformers from the Michael Bay Universe Movies. Can it?
I really want one but aftermarket prices are just too much
You might not be the only doing it, but you’re probably the only one enjoying it.
Bravo sir, bravo! That transformation looks very intimidating.
He’s just transforming there… MENACINGLY!!!

You are my hero man! The manual of this figure is garbage, but thanks to you I finally did it without a scratch on my figure. Thank you very much sir.

*OH MY GOD CAN THIS TRANSFORMATION*
Orion 03 Yeah, it looks nightmarish at first, but it's not too bad in hand. Trust me. ;)
I just love your stop-motion videos. this is why your my #1 reviewer.
thanks = )

As someone who's just got their pre-ordered MP Meg's, I wanna thank you for this video
They do come in Megatron mode already? no way I'm gonna transform it to the gun! lol

Hello great video had megatron in gun mode for a while now all his joints are loose after changing him back.
Any tips on how to fix?
I didn't have the hip joints lined up and couldn't get the barrel strait! Took me a half an hour to figure it out. There is a Takara Tomy quality check guy who needs some screws loosed on his desk chair!
My copy of him struggles to transform, the joint on his legs to put them together for the handle won’t come down, how do I get it unstuck?
Thanks for the video, l discovered that the figure I bought for my father's birthday wasn't broken, the right side abdomin panel wasn't in the lowered position when MP-36 was packaged. What a relief there is no way I would have gotten a replacement with all this Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you again.🙂👍
Thank you for this video ever since I got this figure last April I've had a problem un-collapsing the legs
This video was a God send! It was easier to put him in gum mode than to transform him back😅
Im gonna transform him once a month until I have it memorized.
Thanks!!

Wow just wow that transformation. Does he not come with his stock though 😕
Great vid bro!! I think I will ignore the instructions and use this instead. MUCH better. Can't wait to see the review, watching that now. AWESOME!!
it's been two years of watching this transformation and I've finally done one leg
Could this transformation really work in a voyager scale KO?
I can't get the chest piece to pull out on the double hinge. It's pissing me off, no matter how hard I try to push it down!
When you pick him up in robot mode do the feet bottoms fall out a bit? Anyone have this issue with theirs?
Alright, that is one sweet looking Megatron... but that transformation complexity, geeze!
No offense to anyone who gets this figure, as I truly admire your dedication to G1 accuracy. As for myself, however, I don't even feel bad about skipping this.
Emeral Bookwise idk man, wait till you see my review in a week or two = P

The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer I bought a KO and I can’t even get the legs apart, heck even the inner knee cap on the left broke!
I have it but it’s difficult to get it right off
I CANT PULL THE LEGS DOWN EVEN AFTER LOOSENING THE SCREW!!!! 1:58
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Alright, I pulled them down with lots of force. I think I might have permanently damaged the figure
Thank you for this video 🙏I just did a animated Megatron review, and I wouldn’t have made it through the transformation without this video lol 😂
The screw on mine is in so tight it's almost impossible to loosen. It like it was welded in.
Thanks for this. He will be staying in gun mode on my shelf.
Hey just asking should I order g2 colored Cw Superion for 69.99 dollars plus shipping or go to a store and get its for 120-110 dollars
whatever your wallet can afford man
more figures need this type of video. thanks man!
hmmm....should I start making these types you think?
yiss
I knew this would come in handy one day. Thank you man
A very complicated Masterpiece.
One for true collectors who have the money for it.
Nice job, LER.
I'll send you the cash for the figures before the end of June.
Sorry for the extremely long delay, I've been sick, injured and got lots of damn exams.
Alpha Seeker oh hey no problem. not like they're going anywhere
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer Haha, using PayPal, right?
By the way, does PayPal accept gift cards?
Man, does this make me appreciate the relative simplicity of Wei Jiang's Megamaster.
You must be the only sentient being who can transform & de-transform mp36 in 6 & a half minutes... Brilliant. .. Thx.
I love your videos! Really makes transforming clear! Thank you Lazy Eyebrow!
Man I love this channel thanks for doing all this G1 stuff in G1 toys have a great holiday sorry about the misunderstanding
price ????
Wonder how many pics it took to make this video....great as always
cory powell just the transformation? ~400 in each direction = P
At 0.59 it's easier to fold the side with the barrel in place first then tuck the other side in...
Love your presentation, it's easy to understand and is very clear.
Excellent walkthrough.
This is a good-looking representation of old Buckethead
bruhhhh i dont feel comfortable with how much pull it's taking to get these leg hinges down lol
* Watches intro * "Oh wow! Gotta get me one of those! Looks just like the -
*Transformation gets four steps in*
"Nevermind."
I love the stop frame animations except for one thing… I can’t see your fingers bleeding like mine from moving all these tight tiny parts. 😂
P.S they said that takara is making another sideswipe called mp-12+
yeah, wasn't a fan. it's more white and less silver to make it cartoon acurate, and I'm perfectly happy with my semi toon, semi toy accurate MP12 original. thanks though
Your Welcome

Holy crap thank you! You make it so much easier!
I FRICKEN NEEDED THIS THANK YOU
YOU'RE QUITE WELCOME!
Thanks man, This actually helped me Transform my figured Back to Robot form. It's legs were stuck... pain in the ass :V
Darn I was wanting another three hour mp megatron review. (Sarcasm)
I've got the IT ko version and the damn dangly bottom-of-feet bits that fold up and out and whatnot that are metal never wanna stay together in robut mode. Then again, I'm more of a poser than a player with the toys, so it's not terrible. Still.
Thank you so much mine arrived today this helped a lot
Thank you very much. This helped more than the instructions.
i just want to let you know, that today i used this videp to transform my mp-36
Problem solved a panel forming the handle broke and gluing it back made the joint immobile. Now i never have to do this clusterfuck ever again.
Amazing job ! Thanks
the little flap on his left forearm is supposed to be up in gun mode and down in robot mode.
Random Stuff By Caleb Biehl huh. so it is. my bad
nicely done. I enjoy your videos
Thank you so much for this!
And FYI, removing the scope doesn't make it look any less real. Especially now with paint that can make a real gun look just as identical as the toy.
2:54 I can't do it.
10 month old comment, so you may have figured it out by now, but the feet don't lock into the legs until you compress everything with the skirt armor. On the rocker joint, the outsides go down while the insides go up.
excellent tutorial thanks
That tomska quote though
as long as the alt mode is worth it im fine with taking over 10 minutes to transform
I just like watching your videos
I'll just put a little dish soap at that joint and perfection
Great Review
not a review, just a tutorial = P
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer I mean always
You who are without mercy, now plead for it ,I thought you were made of sterner stuff megatron
The only qualm I have with this figure is that he isn't MP-38.
If I owned this, I would never transform it. Wow, is that a lot of steps.
thanks for the lesson....my problem now is i dont have a megatron figure....shame!!!
I'm gonna be honest, i liked the old thumbnail better.
Thanks a lot dude !!!!
Someday I’ll have this figure, then I’ll get the world record for transformation time
I think the lazy eybrow already got it
I wish the original G1 toy had looked like this.
Wish there was a masterpiece Megatron with an easier transformation
You jumped past the part where the front half of the gun goes down into place.
Nevermind, I see what you did.
I don't have one this is just fun to watxh
Megatron transformations make my stomach feel queasy. They make me nervous.
[Trumpet jazz bgm]
So I was transforming this thing. And then I had to go to work, leaving it half transformed. So my fucking brother decides to transform it, but now the shoulder is loose and floppy, the gun barrel is also now at an angle that can’t go back in place. So now I have to transform this fucking thing into a gun and back to fix it.
wow.....thats alot of pics my friend....
noooooooooooooooooooooooo kidding. and that was only 1/4 of the review
Now that's Decepticon engineering for ya
(TF Prime reference)

Patriot prime sent me. Hello.
Better question who in their right mind would design a toy to transform INTO A GUN? Another better question WHERE THE HELL WERE THE CENSORS on this one?
