tou didn't notice..Elena looks exactly like Katherine.. that's why he was interested n her..like how is it that Elena looks like Katherine? that's the main mystery in the story..also, Zach is already been presented as a human..he's a nephew of the Salvatore brothers but not directly..they are the only siblings.. also, Stefan is on animal diet for blood w/c is why he's weaker than Damon.. u'll know why very soon..hope that finally cleared things up better..thanks! looking forward!
The BEST thing about this show is the relationship between Damon & Stefan.
'Damon is evil but you just enjoy everytime he's on screen' is the perfect description for his character🤣🤣 dude does very horrible things, he's a dick and chaotic and impulsive but you gotta love him lol
Ian was perfectly cast as Damon - he's an ass but damn he makes the show interesting.
@@heather6668He really made the character. It isn't easy to balance the acts with the charm to keep him likable. I liked Ian on Lost, though you can't get much further from Damon than Boone. Except for maybe the attachment issues. I really became a fan with this show though.

Stefan and Damon's "obsession" with Elena is due to her looking IDENTICAL to Katherine (it's the same actress). Speaking of, that Victoria Justice comment is funny because she and Nina Dobrev are always on these "celebrity doppelgangers" lists. A lot of people think they look alike.

@@olavihekandjo2928 They already knew when I commented this 2 weeks ago and they were on E4 on Patreon. I think someone else mentioned it on there. But it's not a spoiler anyway as they just didn't notice/missed it. The viewer is meant to see they look identical in the first episode.

17:00 I completely agree with Corey about damon. He’s such a good antagonist so far. Katherine and elena have a wierd resemblance and the audience doesn’t know why they look so much alike. It’s a great mystery and element to the show.

She turned 18 that August and Jeremy doesn't turn 15 until October. So she's technically an adult now, and he's technically still 14. That's why she doesn't want anyone finding out.
(And yes, Jenna calls him 15 in this ep. but based on his birthday on the wiki, she's rounding up, because he's turning 15 in just over a month, at this point)
Matt is so overly hated by fans for no good reason. I feel bad for the guy and always thought he deserved so much better than how people viewed his character 💔

I’m gonna apologize to the TVD fans because I didn’t think this show was going to be a good fit, but I was so wrong lol and I’m glad I was wrong❤. These have been really entertaining reactions (and I’ve see a few more that are on patreon)
I watched this show so long ago that I can’t even recall where I left off. I remember something significant from season 2 and then don’t remember much after that so this is enjoyable for me as well. Loving the nostalgia, especially with the music.
These first few episodes are so different to the rest of the series. It’ll get way better.

Zack looks older because vamps don’t age. Zack comes from another member of the family. Say Stefan and Damon had a cousin to continue the line after the brothers turned. (Vamps can’t have kids) Around 150 years after they turned Zack was born. He would be Stefan and Damon’s great great nephew. That nephew (Zack) continued to age because he isn’t a vamp. Hence making him look older but really he is around a century younger.

It is addictive and you will appreciate the lore and the different qualities of Stefan and Damon as the show progresses. I hope you do continue with 2 eps a week as I always love to see how others perceive the show. It's great to see others who don't expect to like it get hooked and really enjoy it.

The character developments in TVD is awesome… Super cultural, and literary references throughout the whole series too. Damon has thee best lines! Hope you guys give it a chance because you’re gonna change your mind over and over again about characters in this series.

Damon and Elena have so much chemistry it’s ridiculous. Damon is such an interesting aspect and he makes it entertaining to watch. I love the humor and levity that he brings into the show

This is such a fun and entertaining show. I watched every episode as it was coming out and couldn't wait for the next one. it does get better and more mature as it goes on and the different story lines are pretty interesting. If you want the teen drama with a lot of supernatural jammed in, then this is it! Also, if yall end up liking this you should def watch The Originals. It's a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and its really good. Cheers!

If I'm not mistaken this show came out with the Twilight Trilogy and that should explain Stefan's jawline lol. You guys have missed an important detail about Kathrine in episode 1 that's key to understand Stefan's motivations but don't worry it will come around again within a few episodes. The Salvatore brothers backstory is really cool and have quite a few twist.

It’s always so weird going from the pilot of this show to ep 2. I think they were shot a year apart or something like that and a lot of the cast look different cos of that.
Paul Wesley who plays Stefan went to the gym since the show was fully commissioned which while pleasing to look at makes him definitely not pass as a teenager since his face lost all the softness it had in the pilot (it’s like he had no body fat left lol)
Pre-mom me was never concerned with the age gap between Elena and Stefan. Now I’m a mom of teens and I’m just as horrified as you three are. 😂. I also think it’s cute how all of you say Stefan differently.

Yeah, you gotta suspend some moral judgment for any vampire show in order to not constantly pick at the main relationships, but when even the living age has such a gap, it is harder. I suppose it feeds some into the villain mindset though. After all the age gap is actually one of the least problematic parts of Damon and Caroline and that is saying a lot.

I too had a hurdle pronouncing Stefan due to Family Matters.
Guys keep in mind that this show is relatively old, so some questionable stuff will happen that the characters will gloss over (like the age gap thing or Tyler's behavior not being taken so seriously), but it will get better later as soon as the next season, I think (not too much the age thing with vampires, because this is still a debate to this day lol like ic they're frozen at the age they turned, is it really weird if the age gap is +200 years? I can accept better a 20 something vampire that is +200/300 yo with a 18yo than a 40 something vampire that is +200/300 yo with a 18yo even though they're basically the same age... Like idk how to explain, but imagine being stuck at the 18-mid 20s range of age and then never being able to date, it would be really frustrating, since someone that is +200yo is older than literally everyone on Earth, so my logic is to date someone close to the age you were turned, it's what makes rhe most sense I guess 😭 and I don't really agree with the age gap between Caroline and Damon, for example, but it's only there because of when the show was made, like how they made a student date a professor in Pretty Little Liars and thought there was nothing wrong about it at that time 💀)
I don’t think it’s because TVD is an old TV show that some people are so critical of those aspects of the show, it’s only because we are too sensitive now. We get offended too easily at everything. Everything is creepy now in everyone’s eyes, the word “toxic” has been overused in social media that the real toxicity is losing its meaning.
We don’t appreciate creativity anymore and we can no longer see beauty in anything. Nowadays every TV show or movie are supposed to follow the same boring rules, nothing adventurous and nothing out of ordinary, because the writers are so scared that their writings might offend someone somewhere and the show got cancelled because of it.
Nowadays I can see that creativity is dying and it’s taking its last breath, you hardly can find an interesting TV show or a movie to watch with something to teach you. The writers are scared of letting their imaginations run wild and this is not how art is supposed to manifest itself. Art was never meant to be caged, it should fly wild and free and you should let it take you with it.
People are terrified to be challenged and grow. They make up their mind about something and they never let anyone or anything ever change that. They don’t allow flexibility and they don’t allow softness and as the result they remain stagnant and only at one place.
You know why TVD is still so popular even after all these years? It has nothing to do with nostalgia, it remains popular because it was a taboo breaker. It would challenge your morality, your darkest part of yourself, it would challenge your viewpoint on every single aspect of life and death and it gives you the whole other meaning to love and this is scary and not everyone is ready for that, imo TVD was way ahead of its time and people are still not completely there yet to understand it.

The best show ever
Stefan (like stefen, not stef-ahn) is 161 in the pilot. He turns 162 in S1. And when I was 20, when this was airing, a barely 17 year old girl with a man who is 144 years older than her didn’t really hit me. But it definitely does now. Elena went through a lot and I’m sure it matured her but not that much. Also, she was in a really vulnerable state after her parents died so even without the age thing, getting her into a relationship is taking advantage of her. She needs a friend, not someone who wants something from her.
Tyler doesn’t get any points from me for anything. He literally was about to r@pe Vicki in the first episode and only stopped because Jeremy came along. He’s a POS. Never liked Tyler.
Damon is so evil but we love him 😂 that's the thing about this show

React to the horror franchise in Found Footage called: HELL HOUSE LLC, there are 4 films in total, two of which are good and others not so much but they have sinister moments and an interesting mythology.
A hindered and something year old vampire dating a girl in high school is definitely bad but we ignore it for the show case lol. But it’s still creepy

This is probably my least favorite episode. I love the meeting between Damon and Elena, but the Jeremy/Vicki/Tyler thing is not so interesting. Fortunately it just gets better. Oh, and Zack is a great-great (a few times over) nephew of Stefan and Damon.
