Well tecnicly she was a good kinda friend to Rebekah, last episode she feel compassion for Rebekah and she was genuine with her but.. elena can’t let lose ends especially when it comes to the originals
They thought of so many plans, Mikael getting staked to lure Klaus, Rebekah being daggered, Katherine switching with Elena, damon sneaking into the house, Mikael compelling the hybrids so he can control them. I also was surprised that Katherine cared enough to mess up the plan, so they can save damon from getting killed by Klaus's hybrids. this was just an incredibly written episode with so many plot twists and turns.
I don't think it's that well written. Let me explain why. Salvatore brothers were killing hybrids left and right throughout the season, like Damon does in this episode, so why throw your once in a lifetime chance to kill Klaus? And also, Klaus just comes and throws a party for hours without seeing Mikael's body with his own eyes and securing the weapon that can kill him. I get how Klaus gets stabbed by Damon because he was distracted and all, but how in the hell does Katherine get up and dramatically throw grenades at the hybrids while Mikael says "Katherine" and just watches her? It was still a fun episode, though.

Damon wanted to go thru with killing klaus but klaus told katherine (thinking she was Elena) that even in death his hybrids still follow his orders. Klaus ordered his hybrids to kill damon if he was killed and thats why as much as stefan wanted klaus dead, he wanted his brother alive more so he stopped him. Klaus already knew something was up and he didn't fully believe that mikael was daggered which is why he had all of his hybrids there to help him. He had tyler throw the party to get all of his friends into one place so if things go bad he will have back up(his hybrids). And the whole katherine thing...damon had her stand in for elena so if things go wrong then she won't actually be hurt. Damon never told mikael that part of the plan thats why when he stabbed "elena" he was confused with it actually being katherine. Im pretty sure him standing there was because he was shocked and also what would attacking her or stopping her do for him? he didn't care about anyone or anything but killing klaus.

About Mikael not stopping Katherine, my problem is hybrids are compelled and now being used against Klaus, and neutralizing them means Mikael losing his advantage. Of course he doesn't care about the hybrids, but as a tool he would want to keep them around.
Elena stabbing Rebekah was messed up. I understand why they felt it needed to happen. They know from experience that saying you want your sibling dead and actually going through with it are two different things.
It wasn’t messed up. I hate how people fault Elena for this when she did not owe Rebekah anything. Rebekah was horrible to her and didn’t deserve Elena’s loyalty or friendship. It was warranted and needed to happen because she can’t be trusted.

Don't try to understand her, don't sympathize with her, don't do sweet things that mean a great deal to her and don't befriend her. There was a lot in that scene that was underhanded. They looked like they were about to kiss if the call didn't stop them. They thought of so many good plans so they can kill klaus, but it all got messed up because of Stefan’s betrayal. I get why Damon is so upset, I would be so heated too. little does he know, stefan saved him from getting killed by Klaus's nefarious plan.
I understand why Stefan doesn't want to turn his humanity back on. He will feel the guilt of what he's done these last few months rushing back at him all at once.

It’s kinda understandable & fair because they trusted Elijah & he ruined their plan to kill Klaus last second. But at the same time … it’s still disappointing because Rebehka didn’t deserve that.
Just a reminder on how the stakes work: the set where they have to dip it in the ash (like Elena does before temporarily "killing" Mikael at the start of this episode) are mostly silver and the ash is kind of just like vervain- weakening them and leaving them in a sleeping state. Because Klaus has the hybrid genes, the wounds he gets from silver- even stabbing ones- heal quickly and the stake can't put him down (arguably, they could actually use the stake on him to momentarily stun him, but that then relies on him letting a human close enough to get a stab in, and then they'd have to another plan ready to neutralize him once he's down). Mikael's killing stake, which burned up after being used and so is no longer a threat, was pure wood rather than ashes from the oak tree. But, while they haven't explained how Mikael got put in that tomb before, let me just clarify that Klaus didn't know that's where Mikael was (he just thought he was lucky and Mikael hadn't found him in a while) and even if he had he would have had to worry about whether Mikael had hid the stake somewhere to be used against him later. Honestly, great call on Damon and Elena's parts calling Katherine in- even though she did betray their trust, Mikael's stunt could have killed Elena otherwise, and while Klaus might still have laid down the threat ultimatum to let them know the danger to Damon, they probably wouldn't have been able to solve it as well as it worked out with Katherine (where at least Mikael was taken out and Stefan was freed and Damon unharmed). As to Elena & Rebekah besties arc 🥺, I would love it. I love their dynamic. But, while Elena was out-of-pocket for what she did to Rebekah, it's worth the reminder that not only did Mikael do the aforementioned stabbing of Elena this episode, but the last time they made a deal with one of Klaus' siblings angry at him, Elijah backed out of killing Klaus at the last minute. It was cynical and harsh of Elena, but she was actually smart to do it (that said, Rebekah, I'm so sorry).
They already explained why the dagger does not kill Klaus. Dagger is silver, Klaus is a hybrid, silver makes Werewolves heal like Mason said in season 2. Also the mom is not the first witch ever, she's called the original witch because she was the witch from the original family of vampires.

Yeah, like, technically if Mikael's dad was also named Mikael, then he would be Mikael Mikaelson, but we have no reason to think that's the case, cuz I don't think having the same first name as your dad was common in Viking culture (though I could be wrong, idk much about Vikings) Also, technically Rebekah's surname should be Mikaelsdottir, I believe? Pretty sure they used father's name plus "son" for "boys" and father's name plus "dottir" for girls.
They explained last season that the sliver stakes do not work on Klaus because of his wolf's side which heals from silver. The rest of the originals are full vampire so the stake works. Mikael has a full white oak stake that will kill any original.

Basically they can’t be seriously harmed by a dagger because the wound will just quickly heal. It’s why the dagger dipped in the white oak’s ash doesn’t disable Klaus like it does the other originals
In an episode with crazy twists, suspense, tension-filled moments....what stood out to me was the ending Damon - Elena scene. Two people, united in their love for Stefan... and their continued efforts to save him . Their utter shock and betrayal when their foolproof plan fails ,and Stefan disappears. It is almost too much to bear. They are heartbroken. Damon especially is devastated. Surprisingly, it is Elena who is the stronger of the two. She gathers herself quickly, and reassures Damon. "We will survive. We always do." And then , the most important declaration. "We'll let him go. We'll have to let him go." Im glad it was she who said this. For months now ,Elena and Damon have tried everything to bring Stefan back. But Stefan has constantly rebuffed them.They've even had near brushes with death. Damon almost had his heart heart ripped out by Michael. If not for Katherine ,Michael would have killed Elena . And now the latest setback .... Stefan's .."betrayal" . Elena decides enough is enough. And it really is. Stefan's not a child. He can't be forced into anything. Im glad they decide to not go after Stefan anymore. He has to WANT to come back. This scene to me (and all their interactions this season) shows how much Damon and Elena have progressed in their relationship. Their trust , belief and dependence on each other. Their shared love for Stefan has brought them closer. (And it doesn't hurt that the Damon-Elena chemistry is simply outstanding. And that they look soo good together as a pair.)
Gosh you forget how freaking amazing season 3 was.... this episode is phenomenal 👏👏 and it was the mid season finale so we had to wait like 6 - 8 weeks for the next episode 😮
I am SO HYPED for the next couple seasons they’re so good. 3-6 is so fun edit: also I think the order klaus gave to his hybrids to kill Damon wasn’t compulsion. He said they would kill damon even if klaus died, which implies it can’t have been compulsion, and also that sire bond orders carry through even when the sire dies.
The first time I watched TVD, Elena stabbing Rebekah made me so sad. She’s such a bad-girl character, but like her whole family, she has a thousand years full of reasons. They’re all great characters, but Rebekah will always be one of my favorite villain-esk, love and hate characters ever. Damon and Klaus are over the top awesome, Elijah, the coolest, and Stefan???… he’s a dichotomy… either too good or too drastically bad.
You guys get mad at Elena for putting a dagger in Rebecca’s back but she knew she couldn’t trust Rebecca and I understand. In the next breath you talk about Caroline like she can do no wrong no matter what she says or does. She is just jealous of Rebecca. Also you know how much Rebecca hates Elena and has done to her so I don’t pity her at all.
No one clocked that Katherine gave up her freedom from Klaus because she loves Damon! She loved both of them. And I hate that they never played on that with Damon and Katherine in the same room and then future disappointments! And it wasn’t Stefan’s plan it was Katherine’s! He could never think that far ahead. Katherine needed Klaus to be distracted so she could run again 😂 Also Rebekah came on terrorizing Elena. Poor Rebekah always getting screwed over. She’s literally one of the best characters in TVD universe. But she was meant to be there only for only few episodes. The fans loved Rebekah so much that she became a regular character.
The plot armor of these characters is insane I mean the way they did their enemies in The Originals compared to Elena and the rest is sad makes me irritated

Yeah, what Elena did to Rebekah in this episode caused me to lose so much respect for her during the show's original run, and many rewatches over the years. If it was Katherine, it’d be one thing, but for Elena to do this? No, that was just wrong. Especially waiting for Rebekah to be at her most vulnerable emotionally-that was low. Seriously, a large portion of the fanbase still hates her, and this is one of the pivotal moments that people point to for why they hate her (justified or not).

Mikael went out pretty quickly. I'm glad Klaus was the one who got to do it. Klaus does some pretty despicable things but Mikael is much worse.

In an episode with crazy twists, suspense, tension-filled moments....what stood out to me was the ending Damon - Elena scene.
Two people, united in their love for Stefan... and their continued efforts to save him .
Their utter shock and betrayal when their foolproof plan fails ,and Stefan disappears.
It is almost too much to bear. They are heartbroken. Damon especially is devastated.
Surprisingly, it is Elena who is the stronger of the two. She gathers herself quickly, and reassures Damon. "We will survive. We always do."
And then , the most important declaration. "We'll let him go. We'll have to let him go."
Im glad it was she who said this. For months now ,Elena and Damon have tried everything to bring Stefan back. But Stefan has constantly rebuffed them.They've even had near brushes with death. Damon almost
had his heart heart ripped out by Michael. If not for Katherine ,Michael would have killed Elena .
And now the latest setback .... Stefan's .."betrayal" .
Elena decides enough is enough.
And it really is.
Stefan's not a child. He can't be forced into anything.
Im glad they decide to not go after Stefan anymore. He has to WANT to come back.
This scene to me (and all their interactions this season) shows how much Damon and Elena have progressed in their relationship. Their trust , belief and dependence on each other.
Their shared love for Stefan has brought them closer.
(And it doesn't hurt that the Damon-Elena chemistry is simply outstanding. And that they look soo good together as a pair.)
No Alaric this episode. He probably would’ve been super helpful during this whole Kill Klaus plan.

Gosh you forget how freaking amazing season 3 was.... this episode is phenomenal 👏👏 and it was the mid season finale so we had to wait like 6 - 8 weeks for the next episode 😮
I am SO HYPED for the next couple seasons they’re so good. 3-6 is so fun
edit: also I think the order klaus gave to his hybrids to kill Damon wasn’t compulsion. He said they would kill damon even if klaus died, which implies it can’t have been compulsion, and also that sire bond orders carry through even when the sire dies.
The first time I watched TVD, Elena stabbing Rebekah made me so sad. She’s such a bad-girl character, but like her whole family, she has a thousand years full of reasons. They’re all great characters, but Rebekah will always be one of my favorite villain-esk, love and hate characters ever. Damon and Klaus are over the top awesome, Elijah, the coolest, and Stefan???… he’s a dichotomy… either too good or too drastically bad.
Rebekah always deserved better❤
Klaus was playing checkers while Stefan was playing chess. 🤷♀️
You guys get mad at Elena for putting a dagger in Rebecca’s back but she knew she couldn’t trust Rebecca and I understand. In the next breath you talk about Caroline like she can do no wrong no matter what she says or does. She is just jealous of Rebecca. Also you know how much Rebecca hates Elena and has done to her so I don’t pity her at all.
No one clocked that Katherine gave up her freedom from Klaus because she loves Damon! She loved both of them. And I hate that they never played on that with Damon and Katherine in the same room and then future disappointments!
And it wasn’t Stefan’s plan it was Katherine’s! He could never think that far ahead. Katherine needed Klaus to be distracted so she could run again 😂
Also Rebekah came on terrorizing Elena. People hating on Elena for stabbing her when we KNOW how much she loves her brother and would never kill him is insane.
true rebekah would never kill him, but i genuinely think she would of js gone to the dance n let mikael do it. especially w how she was in the moment, js finding out she lived a lie for a 1000 years n her brother is the one who killed their mom
@@apollokickz Rebekah loves Klaus too much to let mikael of all people kill Klaus. And she wouldn’t have been able to resist confronting Klaus. And Klaus would have shed a tear (ans it would be genuine and she would be able to tell he was being honest) and apologized and they would have been a team again.

Tbh If someone I’ve never met literally came and bit open my neck and told me “the original one was much prettier” and hated me from the start, I wouldnt blame Elena for not liking her 😂 I mean.. let’s be real. Yes she deserved better. But they really didn’t know if they could’ve trusted her or not. I still love Rebekah, she’s a good villain & I’ve actually met Claire in person.❤ but I’ve never understood people talking about how big of a a POS that Elena was for doing that and not talking about how much Rebekah hated Elena from the start 😭😭

I literally LOVE Stefan as a “villain” Paul’s face fits it too like if I were to witness the downfall of Stefan into a badass villain 🔥 🔥 amazing

Poor Rebekah always getting screwed over. She’s literally one of the best characters in TVD universe. But she was meant to be there only for only few episodes. The fans loved Rebekah so much that she became a regular character.

So she had to be out of the picture.

I really don't get this plotline like Katherine screwing up a plan to kill Klaus???? Like seriously??? that was completely out of character because she was ready to sacrifice Damon before when she was in the tomb (when he planned on killing Elijah and it was not even klaus) ig they just wanted to keep klaus in the show😂😂

Yeah, what Elena did to Rebekah in this episode caused me to lose so much respect for her during the show's original run, and many rewatches over the years. If it was Katherine, it’d be one thing, but for Elena to do this? No, that was just wrong. Especially waiting for Rebekah to be at her most vulnerable emotionally-that was low. Seriously, a large portion of the fanbase still hates her, and this is one of the pivotal moments that people point to for why they hate her (justified or not).

It's not about trusting her, it's the manipulation behind how she daggeres her. The showrunners even had sappy heartwarming music in the background, right up under the point Elena daggered her.
