I love how Mss Yannie teaches, everything she says just makes so much sense and understandable . I’m sorry but most youtubers take for ever and a day to explain stuff or talking in circles, so over it.
Its like pruning a plant. As long as the soil is good and healthy where the plant can thrive then what you prune doesn't matter. Your head is the soil and as long as its good and healthy your hair with continue to thrive. Great video Yannie. Peace and blessing to you and your beautiful client.
Thank you Yannie, that was helpful. I was panicking as I’ve lost 15-20 ends. I will focus more on keeping a healthy scalp instead so my locs can be healthier.
This woman is amazing!!! I have never had anyone to ask me about my life and all that going on positive and negative in it. Her loc bath is sooo amazing. Yani help me to understand how my hair works for me and important my crown is and to take care of it. I wish I was her neighbor...lol. She is my loc angel. I miss you sugga😊 Be Blessed🙏
This is why I love you Yannie. Always keeping it 💯💯💯 I have no remorse cutting the weak ends. I always say the ends are the oldest part so it’s cool if their time is up🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Yannie, your videos and natural hair skills as a hair technician is purer than many, enough said'; and thats that. I'm from the Caribbean, love your presentation and stay doing it for the organical movers and shakers; it will see all of us through, thank you.
I’m glad I saw this video. I have Sisterlocks. My locs are only 4 years old. So they are nowhere near that long. However, one year before starting my locs, I escaped an abusive marriage, I survived a mysterious illness that made me lose about 40LBS in a week or two, I survived a stressful custody battle, I went through therapy with my child, and so much more. Before finding this video, I popped off all my knots. I’m glad I did the right thing!!
Omg see I was freaking out my locs are pretty healthy and today while checking my locs . I noticed one of my locs the very end was straggling away. Thank you for posting this video eased my mind lol
I don't even know anymore...I have wavy hair...kinda to the shoulder....i got backcomb and interlock done+ crochet...after my dreads got done...a week into the journey i thought it was a good ideea to buy a crochet myself and do the maintanaince myself...no interlocking...just pulling the loose hair...from once a week...to once a day...to once every 2 seconds when i had the time...now...the ends keep breaking off..i have blunted tips.....6 months of the journey..if u know anything about it...please respond....i bet its crochet damage...but im hoping its not...i thought about getting them off...but i love them (38 locks high top)..i wanna keep them but they keep breaking at the ends...like a little...but still....
"How much shyt happened in your life?" Maaaaaan if these locs could talk. They do. Just look at them. If it happened to you it happened to your locs. TLC all the way with them and with yourself.
Thanks Ms. Yanni, your tips are great not just for locks but natural hair in general. Keep it simple stop doing too much, be gentle on your hair, drink water, oil your scalp, don’t over wash, eat well if yo have vitamin deficiencies-fix that, and you can grow your hair as long as you want.
In my early years of my loc journey I use to b obsessed with retaining my length and the perfection of it, so when the ends would fall off I would sew them back on...🤦🏾♀️ Now I just let them fall off, no matter how long the length is. 14yrs strong!💪🏾❤️
Love this! Thank you. I’ve been locd since 2011, and have semi Freeform. In the early stages and a phase in the middle of my journey, I didn’t wash, dry and moisturize my hair in a healthy and consistent way. I occasionally have ends break off, but the scalp and upper parts of my locs are strong and healthy. I always saw it as a plant naturally shedding dead leaves (ends). Your video helped put me at ease though, bc I’ve been wanting a professional to speak on it without the obsession with preserving length.
So glad I found this video my son got loc'd at 2 and he just stared to have these thinning ends at the age of 8 and he has multiple and I was a little worried. But you put my mind at ease, So thank you for this. 💜
Beautiful Locs; Beautiful Sister. Her Locs and skin are so healthy looking. Thank you, Yannie for sharing. I’ve been adequately admonished....no knots! 🤭😧
Yannie, I miss you!!!! Your videos are like coming to see you in person. I am looking forward to seeing you in July. My hair will be totally disrespectful by then, to be honest it already is now🤫
I'm also wondering why locs change color? My husband and son both have reddish, almost sandy light brown color to the tips of their locs and neither have ever had their locs dyed. It is beautiful, to me, but I'm just curious if there's a specific reason or if it just naturally occurs?
Thank you so much for answering my question from your q&a this truly makes me feel better about my hair. I was afraid I was doing something wrong. I keep my scalp moisturized and my diet healthy so my tips break naturally.
Trust me i cant wait to have this queen bless my hair...i am very picky as to who touches my crown. I dont mess with it alot i just let it grow which many find cray cray...i dont care i love my locks....yannie i hope ill qualify when am ready
I love your videos Yanni, thank you. My locs have broken off as a result of dyeing them. I have a lot of long thick locs and some short locs I call littles. I’m just waiting for them to grow back. I would love to get into your chair one day. Thank you again for all the knowledge!!!!
Thank you so much for this! I'm in the teenage stage and some of my locs are doing this . I like your ends are your beginning. It makes sense because I started with ends that needed to be trimmed. So the dead ends are snapping off. Thank you 😊
I can testify to this. I wasn't aware the dangers of dye, and bleaching as we would call it, and half the length of my Locs was popping in a lot of places. My locs was at my buttocks 😥 it was my personal decision to make a big chop. It will grow back because I hve healthy hair and I DO NOT DO much to it.
What about when it happens close to the top of the head? And what is the best way to moisturize dreads and how often can one moisturise.....and the best way to sleep with dreads
Ok, so this can happen, from tension? My husband and 6 year old both have tips pop off. It drives my husband crazy. They both fail to consistently keep a loc sock on, throughout the night. I've been telling my husband it's tension from the locs being pulled/tugged while he is tossing and turning in his sleep, with nothing protecting his locs. Is this correct? It's the best explanation I could think to give him.
you are amazing i wish i would have been a little more patient because this has happened to me twice the first time i just cut them off cause i did panic and the next time which was just a week ago i just cut them once i counted 10 or more my roots have been thinning for years even before my locs i'm 50 i even stopped twisting for months and months still thinning. But right now i just decided to get scalp and hair treatment and get my hair back healthy.
Maybe it could be the menopause or something else us women go through! There’s sooo much. Don’t cut them, do what Yannie says, take her advice, oil the scalp and not the hair, half n half vitamin e oil & rosewater (really loved hearing her say this) you will start seeing a difference. Good luck 🤞🏾 🙏🏾
It was amazing Yannie, actually l got little locs and this popping of happened,,and someone tied the locs with the popping ones,,,,am looking forward to cutting them off....
Omg! My brother will not listen! All of his locs look like that because he never moisturizes his hair. His locs are less than a year old and it's everywhere except the root. It's loc abuse. He maintains nothing. I'm cool with disrespectful locs... But it's not ok to disrespect your locs...
The ends of my formerly interlocked dreads are popping off after a few years. I feel like once the ends are weak and trying to let themselves go, I take them out
This video just confirmed my thoughts of why my locs have been thinning at the ends and breaking off easy.. I have dyed them multiple times and not taking care of them as well as I used to… I keep telling myself it’s just the ends lol and I break them off lol eventually they will all break off and I can go on about my life with healthy black hair lol once all this color breaks off… but I am going to start taking better care of my locs. I got lazy over the years. I will be 5 years locked in jan.
Dear Miss Lonnie While I know you generally do not discuss the sister and micro Loc I will ask this question in hopes that you will attempt to give me an answer. Can you tell me can you go from them to traditional Locs? And if not do you have to start from. The absolute beginning. I have worn sisterloc for 20 years but my Diabetes medications have caused great damage. Thank you in advance.
Yup! Most of my bleached ends fell out when I had a fro still, the rest fell off while they were locked. Now my hair is beautiful natural and healthy, never again am I bleaching tho
Yannie, I go between BK and Newark. Do you have other people in your network that you trust clients with when you are out of town? I love your style and I've been looking for someone like you but you are in hot demand.
What about children? My 6-year-old daughters hair is doing this, and her locs are only 1.5 years in started with 2 strand twists. No one else in the household has this issue. I've been following you for years, so most of my practices I get from you have worked well for the rest of us. We don't retwist often, use oli and water and rose water
I wanted to ask about the ends. Thank you for answering this question. I will stop worrying about those few ends. Is it the same for a loc that splits and becomes two? I have a couple of loc that have split and look like a "Y" on the end.
Hi Lannie, Thank you for videos. Although, I do not have locs and loose natural I still find your videos very helpful. What do you suggest to help repair thinning edges and bald spots? I often wear my hear wrapped and the tightness has resulted in hair loss.
Yannie’s nails are always slaaaayed!!! 😩🤎🙌🏾🤟🏾💜💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾

“Ur ends were once ur beginnings”✌🏼🇮🇪
Beautiful black queen I love her locs
Omg! I wasn't ready for all that beauty when she turned around! Gorgeous!
Thank you Yannie, that was helpful. I was panicking as I’ve lost 15-20 ends. I will focus more on keeping a healthy scalp instead so my locs can be healthier.
That smile was beautiful when she turned around
So pretty when she turned around. Great smile! I am learning so much from your videos. Thank you!

Thank you for that tutorial about the tips of your locs popping off. Very important information I needed to know. thx
I KEEP STARING AT THOSE PRETTY HANDS 💖💅💖

Your uploads are a breath of fresh air.
Thank you!! I definitely needed this. Going on 7 years with my locs.

Thank you so much for answering my question from your q&a this truly makes me feel better about my hair. I was afraid I was doing something wrong. I keep my scalp moisturized and my diet healthy so my tips break naturally.

I love your videos Yanni, thank you. My locs have broken off as a result of dyeing them. I have a lot of long thick locs and some short locs I call littles. I’m just waiting for them to grow back. I would love to get into your chair one day. Thank you again for all the knowledge!!!!

I needed this video like this morning. Very informative. Thank you sooo much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this. This is happening to me and I thought I was doing something wrong. Now I wont worry as much about it. Thank you Yannie.
I hope that I can come and have you bless my locs this year. You're amazing 🥰
I have issues with those falling knots. I believe its because early on I was twisting too much. Yannie, your nails are beautiful!
Am guilty of knotting the ends and picking lint as well ill stop them both....knotting at least
Thank you so much for this! I'm in the teenage stage and some of my locs are doing this . I like your ends are your beginning. It makes sense because I started with ends that needed to be trimmed. So the dead ends are snapping off. Thank you 😊
Just let it go- pop it off💜💜💜

i LOVE her beautiful hair!!!!!!!!!! ❤
She is gorgious 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hey! She’s beautiful indeed.
Yay to the Widow's Peak!
Thanks for sharing and it's important to have knowledge about your hair.
Mine just unravel at the end, no thinning. So i trim and they keep unravelling....
Yannie, I go between BK and Newark. Do you have other people in your network that you trust clients with when you are out of town? I love your style and I've been looking for someone like you but you are in hot demand.
THANK YOU😘 I end up just cutting them into a bob🤷🏾♀️ couldn't take it any more lol!

I've had a couple of those alway hated when they feel off
First video I watch by you to get some advice and the Queen has the same name as me.
I have had that at the end
Beautiful ❤️
Hi Lannie, Thank you for videos. Although, I do not have locs and loose natural I still find your videos very helpful. What do you suggest to help repair thinning edges and bald spots? I often wear my hear wrapped and the tightness has resulted in hair loss.
8 years in and i was panicking 😮
Will take better care of them
My entire loc fell out and my locs are falling out at the root. I only use rose water and loc oil. 😭😫
Because atleast 8 of mine have fallen off😫
