I was at this concert - pretty funny how the 2SM logo on front of stage was for the radio station that promoted the concert (it was free by the way), and 2SM was a radio station owned by the Catholic Church in Sydney!! I remember someone threw an apple at the stage, it sailed over Phil's head and landed at the back and suddenly all the sound went dead! It took a while to get sound back up and Phil kept the crowd entertained doing soccer tricks with apple - no shit.
This is superb! Finest band EVER! First saw them at the old Glasgow Apollo in 79 during their Black Rose tour. TL had an amazing combination of talent and that twin lead harmony guitar sound was legendary. Phils jokes and craic with the audiences was brilliant. How we miss that stuff today. Nothing comes even close. Drummer in the vid is Mark Nauseef - he stood in for Downey on that tour for some reason. Downey was definitely back on the drum stool in 79.
R.I.P. Phil Lynott, R.I.P. Gary Moore. Thin Lizzy was criminally underrated. Just listen to "Live And Dangerous", definitely one of the best live albums ever.
@JAMESBOND333ful You should know that Gary Moore was only a couple of years in TL. Scott Gorham is the guitarplayer that was the most loyal to Phil Lynott and to TL. You do him no justice if you deminish his influence in the band. He was in TL from 1974 till 1983 when Lizzy split up. They came back together in 1996 and he was in it again, until now. He plays on so many great Lizzy albums, Doesnot mean that Gary was not a superb guitarplayer, he played on a lot of albums too.
The coolest thing of 'em all is that Scott Gorham really emproved every time TL changed the second guitarist... He was good in the beginning, he became pretty cooler and more confident with Robbo and with Gary Moore (and John Sykes later) he became even better! Just a proof of his love for music.
Lizzy forever! What a cool bunch of dudes... Why did no other band manage to blow them from stage til today???? Simply because the were the best Rock Band ever 😍
I saw Lizzy early on when they were supporting Bachmann Turner Overdrive (touring the UK on the success of "You ain't seen nothin' yet"). 15 minutes into the BTO set the crowd was still chanting "Lizzy, Lizzy". Poor guys.
Wish I'd seen Lizzy on this tour. Phil is awesome as ever. Seen them on the Renegade Tour and guess what? Still awesome. I'm one of the lucky ones. Wish he was still out there xx
Wow this is an incredible performance. Great song too. And in all fairness to the audience, Black Rose wasn't out yet so they didn't know this song, and it's difficult for an audience to get into a new song.
Talk about underrated Scott Gorman might be the greatest guitarist in Thin Lizzy he's the only one that could hang full-time on or off stage with Philip Lynott
you know, i've all these video's,but someone else has posted them already. it's good. so i know i'm not the only one who regonize what good music is. thanks for sharing.
Steffan Pila Mark Naauseef plays the drums on this concert. Brian Downey declined to participate this concert due to complications of Pneumonia and spending more time with his sick son. Also, he did want to do the concert at Australia because of the high demand of the "Live And Dangerous Tour." Long Live Thin Lizzy!!!
I agree 100%....dunno if it was due to having 2 "alpha" mentalities clashing or if it was an aversion on Gary's part to the hard-partying ways of the rest of the band. Either way...glad for the music that they DID bring forth...and personally, I prefer the Moore/Gorham guitar tandem.
I think this is a 'Snowy white' time in lizzy.. scotty doing a good job of it of cause.. Come to think of it? havent heard anything from Snowy for a very long time? Where is he??
See I kept looking to see who was on drums because I know it's not Downey because the song is dragging it doesn't have the same Gallup/pace as with Downey.
Yeah, its hard maybe impossible to be behind the drums in Lizzy, cause of Mr. Brian Downey. This DVD would rock, but the sound and picture arent good. But they still make a hell of a hob here!!!
A great performance from my favourite band, and if I could find the sound engineer responsible for recording this I would beat him over the head with a blunt instrument.
i thought most forgot snowy white, what a band huh broke all kinds of barries, even matallica does the cover whiskey in the jaro but we know who wrote it
Everyone is talking about moving over to Grooveshark / other sites...because RUclips has decided to keep playing some asinine game with displaying Generic "Broadcast Yourself', rather than allowing the Artist and name of the song to be displayed, when sharing...
hey boys, close your eyes and you can hear it. listen to the guitars...... no doubt gary moore and scott gorham. snowy white is not in sight. believe in me.
That solo kills me each time. I've always loved Scott's playing. Power and passion.

Rock Stars.Scott Gorham and Gary Moore! Just the ultimate 2 guitar assault.Phil was born for the stage! BEST Band ever
Before Scott cut his hair off... Fell in love with this band in 1978, still just as impressed.
R.I.P. Phil Lynott, R.I.P. Gary Moore.
Thin Lizzy was criminally underrated. Just listen to "Live And Dangerous", definitely one of the best live albums ever.
Amazing. The best rock and roll band ever, in my opinion. I'm really trying to spread the word around about this band... here in Brazil.
My favourite band of all time - Phil Lynott wrote such wonderful, wonderful songs.
Oh God, this brings back memories. I was there in that crowd as well. I loved this band and saw them every time they came out.
Performance-poet. Completely authentic and unique
THIN LIZZY with Gary Moore = the BEST THIN LIZZY !
RIP Gary ...
We miss you !
One of a kind!R.I.P Phil and Gary.
Isn't that 2 ?
Thin Lizzy are one of the all time greats.
it doesnt get any better than this..man i wish i had been there...RIP Gary and Philo
awesome stuff!!!! Black rose is a helluva album.
Corridors of Power great solo album by Gary Moore.
This band is what music is about. plain and simple. They have the talent, not studio crafted talent.
Wow, what a great clip! Wish I'd come along ten years earlier to see these guys in their prime!
Best band ever
Love live Lizzy
How lucky she was ..and so you are for the pics.

So would I, I was born 20 years too late to see the great Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy live.
One of the greatest bands ever; with one of the fucking coolest songs ever.
Aguably the MOST UNDERRATED & UNSUNG R&R BAND! AMAZING!
RIP gary moore the Belfast bluesman will always be remembered
Thinn Lizzy, wohl eine der beaten Rockbands überhaupt...
The coolest thing of 'em all is that Scott Gorham really emproved every time TL changed the second guitarist... He was good in the beginning, he became pretty cooler and more confident with Robbo and with Gary Moore (and John Sykes later) he became even better!
Just a proof of his love for music.
Scott is one of the all time greats. Those who know, know
this is what i miss today, music and talents of this calibre...this is just epic!
wish i had been old enough to go to this :(
The crowd is massive! If I was around in 78 I would have been there.
Average Skaters I was around myself but couldn’t go.Unfortunately I was doing time,didn’t manage a Jailbreak :)
Lizzy forever! What a cool bunch of dudes... Why did no other band manage to blow them from stage til today???? Simply because the were the best Rock Band ever 😍

thanks dimebag62, for all the Sydney tracks, a great set
Wow this is an incredible performance. Great song too.
And in all fairness to the audience, Black Rose wasn't out yet so they didn't know this song, and it's difficult for an audience to get into a new song.
gotta love Phil's bass tone...so thick and huge...in ya face.
"It's moi band. So you're gonna hear moi bass".
Phil and Gary gone...and we are stuck with Bieber...no justice in the universe.
Gary Moore and Phil Lynott!!!!
Awesome
thin lizy sounds the best live
Great band, great recording for live.
4:31, love seeing young Gary Moore here being very energetic and nimble. :)
That end guitar harmonizing makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up
It makes me Laugh what some people write . ROCK ON !!!!
My first concert... 11 years old & I still remember Phil asking if any of the girls had any Irish in them... & would they like some?
Lol
This is the best concert they ever recorded in my opinion.
amazing...great song...
What a band....
Scott Gorham was the only mainstay of thin lizzy! they had a revolving door of guitar player's except for him.
Best Irish band ever
Awesome!
A pity that the Lynott/Moore collaboration could never work for a long period of time
@poopzoid111
cool to have that memory and to be able to see it on youtube.
Great vocal/ killer bass. Phil's the shit!!!
Amo a Brian Downey como batería del grupos, pero es justo reconocer que Mark Nauseef estuvo brillante en esta pieza.
Oh man aint that the truth. Most triumphant rocking ever!
The Irish at their best!God Save Ireland
awesome...
Baddass!! Drummss!!
Steffan Pila
Mark Naauseef plays the drums on this concert. Brian Downey declined to participate this concert due to complications of Pneumonia and spending more time with his sick son. Now thanks to mr. Dimebag 62 i,m not working for another hour.Too bad Gary only recorded one album with Thin Lizzy.
Pese a que adoro a Brian Downey, es justo reconocer que en esta interpretación Mark Nauseef es un monstruo.
Gary on fire , u could see that he looked upto Phil.
Yes, fella.
i thought most forgot snowy white, what a band huh broke all kinds of barries, even matallica does the cover whiskey in the jaro
Thanks for posting - this is my favorite band for 30 years...
Why not Brian Downey on drums?
Good stuff Mr Moon
lizzy was lizzy they roked it no matter what
I agree 100%....dunno if it was due to having 2 "alpha" mentalities clashing or if it was an aversion on Gary's part to the hard-partying ways of the rest of the band. Either way...glad for the music that they DID bring forth...and personally, I prefer the Moore/Gorham guitar tandem.

See I kept looking to see who was on drums because I know it's not Downey because the song is dragging it doesn't have the same Gallup/pace as with Downey.
Yeah thats moore ! do you know who the drummer i only realised Downey isnt there ?
Yeah, its hard maybe impossible to be behind the drums in Lizzy, cause of Mr. Brian Downey. This DVD would rock, but the sound and picture arent good. But they still make a hell of a hob here!!!

i thought most forgot snowy white, what a band huh broke all kinds of barries, even matallica does the cover whiskey in the jaro but we know who wrote it
Is this just me, or does their guitars sound really distorted...
Oh well, IT ROCKS!
Everyone is talking about moving over to Grooveshark / other sites...because RUclips has decided to keep playing some asinine game with displaying Generic "Broadcast Yourself', rather than allowing the Artist and name of the song to be displayed, when sharing...
Gorham almost did as many drugs as Phil...the only difference is that Gorham was able to break his habit and Phil didn't.
Ya, me neither, til i just looked him up. lol
fan-fucking-tastic :)
@hanusanus666 Yeah.. i bet she did;nt show him them pictures.. dogin behind the amps!!
@poopzoid111 Moms who dig Thin Lizzy rock!
hey boys, close your eyes and you can hear it. listen to the guitars...... no doubt gary moore and scott gorham. snowy white is not in sight. believe in me.
Was Gary giving someone the finger at 0:54
He was asking the foldback engineer to turn up his guitar in his foldback monitor.
BRIAN DOWNEY Plays whit Gary Moore now!!! Great
There's a moment towards the end where it sounds like the drummer is half a bar out of time for a bit...
Phill looks like the spawn of Jimmi Hendrix and inspector closeau .
@poopzoid111 can i add u on facebook so you can share those valuable pics man? or where can i see them?
