I've never really played Pioneer before so I decided to enter a large tournament with a precon Magic The Gathering Challenger deck to try and win the whole thing.

Lovestruck Beast’s adventure (Heart’s Desire) creates a 1/1 Human Token… I’m assuming that’s why Human Tokens are included.
You should've gotten the Arclight Phoenix challenger deck so you'd get to play with banned cards.

@@lordhallibel3604 if you use the 75 out of the box as-is you are able to play with the EI's.

During the last open house tournament at my lgs, a friend of mine brought the dimir control Pioneer Challenger deck to a modern format. He said the deck stood pretty well against modern decks.

This is where I would've brought Orzhov Auras. The thing is about that precon is it contains a banned card (Lurrus), but if you play the deck as is you're allowed to run the banned card. A real mind game on your opponent when game 1 you reveal Lurrus as your companion and then they call a judge and you have to explain the situation.
That would be funny.
Had a guy at an RCQ top 8 with that same deck. Gruul is OP out the box

@@TheMickslash yeah, i mean it will also show people the transformation of the deck. By adding in some cards to help them win. I got this deck and played it with some upgrades. Especially sideboards.

Your know how you could use banned cards in Challenge decks if the list is kept as-is (like expressive itteration)? Wizards should take the idea and do specific decklist with overpowered/banned cards just in these lists. It would be interesting

Well damn, as a commander player, this specific pre con looks dope. The stomping grounds was a cool surprise, as well as shifting ceratops. I personally would recommend this pickup if you can, but maybe for a but cheaper if possible?

I judged a tournament this weekend and someone came in with this exact same deck and made top 8 with the precon. everyone was cheering him on through them tournament. he only lost to rakdos sak in the end and apparently the matches were pretty close. sadly didn't get to watch much of that match.

I played the mono red Hazoret challenger deck once at FNM for modern. I faired better (as it was a pretty casual FNM) but I'm glad to see someone else pick up the torch. You are not your results and I'm hoping you found some enjoyment out of this.
