I got 10 sleeves on my yugioh cards using random sleeves for yugioh and mtg cards and other things like credit card holders and such but after awhile you're risking bending the cards or compressing the edges even though they're smaller... (also, for yugioh i think they only recently started allowing double sleeving for tournament play at my locals in the last few years)
The outer layers that aren't designed for CCGs are probably a different type of plastic that pick up smudges and dings a lot easier. Since they seem to be designed for sports cards (which you don't handle that often) or maybe board game cards which are generally not played competitively so you don't care that much about small marks.
All of those sleeves is BAD quality control though... You aren't protecting the card from outside elements any more by just sticking more layers of plastic on it, but you sure as hell are putting more stress on the edges of the card every time you handle one with that much weight surrounding them. If you are really so scared about damaging your cards that you are wanting to put 6 sleeves on them, don't handle them.
I love that the judge you got to deck check you was the one who brought the Ruudi deck to PT Baltimore and swindled the UPF judges into letting him play an adult hero for the laughs. This community is great. Please never change.

Thank god I never got really into TCGs, this is the stupidest thing on the planet. Great video though! :)
Really? I play yugioh but never like YCS or anything. It was all locals and stuff, but we weren't too harsh on card markings or anything. Plus a lot of the MTG rules I've seen feel a little harsh too like certain keywords being used that forced people to actually skip the phase they intended to go to (I think it was "combat" skipping your beginning of combat phase and pushing you right to declare attackers) and just other shenanigans of "well technically".
I have been dreaming of doing something as ridiculous as this many times, but im glad to see you actually doing it man making the dreams become reality
"These are protected against scratches, dents, dings, nuclear winters..." LMAO great content, I've only sleeved decks 2-3 times but this is making me want to play more!
Funny thing, my Yu-Gi-Oh cards (in a Japanese-sized sleeve) fit *perfectly* into the Dragon Shield Perfect Fits that I got for my MTG cards, which of course fit perfectly into Dragon Shield sleeves as intended. It's surprising how well they fit together.
If I may suggest a yugioh deck may I suggest a P.u.n.k zombie loop combo that allows you to loop to summon an 100+ material zues to the field (this would let you have a monster with every 7 sleeved card stacked on top of it) as I feel it would be very satisfying to see.

Another thing when sleeving your cards and first layer sleeves for deck check in tournaments, wear a pair of nitrile gloves. This prevents marking from your hands and nails. I personally use the harbor freight 7mil gloves (like $10 for 100 gloves) to prevent finger nail pressing and fingerprint smudging on the sleeves. After my first resleeving issue in tournament from 3 down to 1 due to these issues, I always carry at least 2 pair in my tourney backpack now, in case I care to change sleeves and haven't had an issue being deck checked since. Hope this helps other players.
It adds an additional layer of protection as well, as you will never need to worry about having sex with anyone again when you show them your 6 sleeved deck.
I was thinking about grabbing those and the ones they made for the oversized Transformers TCG cards, but I couldn't find anything to "smooth out" the transition between them without looking absurd 😂
Fr tho, sharpen the blade every 5 cuts and it’ll be better also use cotton gloves when handling the cards with rubber tipped fingers. Might pull it off 😅
My deck was triple sleeved. I took incredible care of my elves when I played MTG. Craterhoof and tokens quick easy multi kills when I played it. Once tore apart a table of 4 other players in a single combat! Had to sell my deck when times got tough but hey memories are made to be remembered.
Had a friend who played vanguard who 8 sleeved his extra deck. It was completely legal to have different sleeves on your extra deck since it doesn't ever go into the deck, and the cards are the same size as YGO cards so you can fit an extra couple of sleeves with that size reduction.
When I was a kid I had a rare pokemon card and I put it in 3 or more sleeves to protect it. I sleeved them opposite directions thinking it would keep anything from getting in, like lamination. A tiny amount of condensation got into it and disintegrated the card because the liquid couldnt escape.
Could you get another sleeve or maybe even two going by starting with a japanese sized game (i.e. YGO) rather than a standard sized game? Edit: commented too early it seems
In like 2004 I found a black lotus in a parking lot. It was bent in half, torn, and in a puddle. I dried it out and taped it up and played it in my deck for casual games against my friends at home seeing as it had no resell value.
I'm confused. How does the condition of a sleeve or marks make them ineligible to play? I've never done this stuff before, but that seems kind of crazy to me. Are you only allowed to play perfect mint condition pack fresh cards in play or something? Because that seems legitimately ridiculous to me...
If you know what the “sweat stained” card is, you or your opponent might be able to identify it when it’s facedown or hidden. So all the cards would have to be uniform (which is one of the purposes of sleeves in the first place ironically)

I was expecting the judge to laugh at it, potentially make some remarks about how it would be annoying and bad to shuffle and drop a few sleeves.
I found out that not only is there strict quality control on sleeves, but they can actually reject your deck because your sleeves aren't good enough?
Thank god I never got really into TCGs, this is the stupidest thing on the planet.
Great video though! :)
This was hilarious! IIRC Yu-Gi-Oh! has very strict rules surrounding their sleeves, and I don't think you can get away with triple-sleeving there
Yeah they have a dimension that your cards actually have to be, you can't play unsleeved. (YGO has had a lot of cheating over the years)
Guess it depends with YGO then, I've only played online. And yeah that ruling about going to attackers was really unfair, but they've changed it since
"These are protected against scratches... dents, dings... nuclear winter..."
Gold. Pure comedy gold.
Of all the judges to check the deck, it was perfect that it was Jon xD Great video! Glad to know Chicago was a ton of fun!
It was!
I love how loyal your friend is. He is just like yes I will do it before knowing all the details. Like I am ready for whatever. Let's go!
I have been dreaming of doing something as ridiculous as this many times, but im glad to see you actually doing it man making the dreams become reality
I did this for you!
"How many sleeves are on this?" "The answer is YES!" had me rolling 🤣
"These are protected against scratches, dents, dings, nuclear winters..." LMAO great content, I've only sleeved decks 2-3 times but this is making me want to play more!
Judge - “How many sleeves are on this??”
Him - “The answer is Yes!”
😂😭
id love to see a version of this with a yugioh deck, didnt see too many other people agreeing tho
You could put even more on since those cards are smaller.
An 100 card mtg commander 😂😂
No need to find a judge for that official policy forbids more than 2 sleeves
Funny thing, my Yu-Gi-Oh cards (in a Japanese-sized sleeve) fit *perfectly* into the Dragon Shield Perfect Fits that I got for my MTG cards, which of course fit perfectly into Dragon Shield sleeves as intended. It's surprising how well they fit together.
"How many sleeves?" "The answer is yes." 😂
Judge: "How many sleeves are on here?"
Armada: "The answer is 'yes"
😂😂
Time to get a whole deck graded and play with it :)
Fully graded deck... 🤔
Actually get two decks graded and play a game with Flake, record it. Easy views :) @@DMArmada
You are on to something here.
the faces of absurd joy when they realise there's 6 sleeves is absolutely priceless. Bless those men
If I may suggest a yugioh deck may I suggest a P.u.n.k zombie loop combo that allows you to loop to summon an 100+ material zues to the field (this would let you have a monster with every 7 sleeved card stacked on top of it) as I feel it would be very satisfying to see.
Yes, use that Zeus + Zombie Curious loop by Dawnstar at MD (ik it is banned irl, but would have been legal), and see how high that Zeus can stack with TWO whole SIX sleeve'd decks under it.
I just watched a video of a man sleeving up some cards with some epic music under it and i loved it !
And that's why I'm proud of you
@@DMArmada Unrelated side note, but what music is it? I'm a huge sucker for epic choral music, and the song at ~3:43 hits all the right notes both in context of what you're saying and my personal audio preferences. Would you mind sending the artist's name/link to the song?
This was such a fun video idea. Loved it, but I think I'll stick to 1-2 sleeves for now.
I think you're better off for it 🤣
Another thing when sleeving your cards and first layer sleeves for deck check in tournaments, wear a pair of nitrile gloves.
This is the epic mealtime equivalent of a card video. Love it.
This is so unnecessarily dramatic and I love it
At least YOU get me.
Surprisingly enjoyable would watch the 7 sleeve
It adds an additional layer of protection as well, as you will never need to worry about having sex with anyone again when you show them your 6 sleeved deck.
I love this lol. 6 sleeves was the max I ever got on an mtg card. I did however manage to put 9 sleeves on a single yugioh card once! 😂
I can't wait for the 10 sleeve yugioh deck!
This is the kinda content I wake up in the morning for
You can actually go bigger then those swan sleeves by getting the sleeves made for the old commander giant cards. 129 mm x 910 mm.
I was thinking about grabbing those and the ones they made for the oversized Transformers TCG cards, but I couldn't find anything to "smooth out" the transition between them without looking absurd 😂
One thing people seem to not do when sleeving is push the air out of the first sleeve then second and so on everytime a new sleeve pops on.
Am I the only one who protects their cards by dipping them in epoxy resin?
@@WannaComment2 not for long...
props to the judge for entertaining this.
There is actually a rule already on how many sleeves can cover your cards
Fr tho, sharpen the blade every 5 cuts and it’ll be better also use cotton gloves when handling the cards with rubber tipped fingers. Might pull it off 😅
The beginning felt shaky but the ending was worth it
My deck was triple sleeved. I took incredible care of my elves when I played MTG. Craterhoof and tokens quick easy multi kills when I played it. Once tore apart a table of 4 other players in a single combat! Had to sell my deck when times got tough but hey memories are made to be remembered.
6:35 Lmao only 500 likes?
Did he ever do this? I wanna see it!
Had a friend who played vanguard who 8 sleeved his extra deck. It was completely legal to have different sleeves on your extra deck since it doesn't ever go into the deck, and the cards are the same size as YGO cards so you can fit an extra couple of sleeves with that size reduction.
Aaand this is why yugioh limits you to double sleeving
That dude’s shuffle was very satisfying. There was no issue for him shuffling those. Lol
2:57 MTG in a nutshell 😂
"WELL IT WAS 6 BEFORE!" Favorite part of the video ahaha good job partner!
Omg! This is best. Please do more😝🍻
I'm gonna need to use Ziploc bags if I go any bigger...
I bet you this will be the most popular comment!
In like 2004 I found a black lotus in a parking lot. It was bent in half, torn, and in a puddle. I dried it out and taped it up and played it in my deck for casual games against my friends at home seeing as it had no resell value.
Is anyone else concerned about Armada changing his look from school teacher to youth pastor?
Hey, there's worse looks!
Thanks for reminding me of that FaB. Always a pleasure watching a card game be played on the prof's channel.
8:07 bros whole ids on screen
😂
"there's four sleeves in that?"
"WELL THERE WAS SIX BEFORE!"
He was so offended lol.
