I'll bet every single one of those musicians still tell anyone who'll listen about the time they played Ace of Spades with Lemmy!!!!
as they should
This my friends, this is Rock N’ Roll
That is Rock'N'Roll. Lemmy strides up there, throws his bass on and just starts playing. The band did a nice job of keeping up with him.
Guess you didn't hear the drummer then.
Ace of spades with a piano and a horn section ....
😎..... Cool
Very:)
Everyone else trying to keep up with Lem is the best.
This is the absolute essence of rock n roll here.
Man I love the sound of the whole band playing along. Sounds absolutely wonderful.
I think Ace of Spades should be listed in the book of standards along side Jonny B Good , Lucille, Great Balls of Fire etc..
It's a good test for any bassist to play right. I've seen plenty of bassists get it wrong, few play the chords because it's not normal on bass but that's how Lemmy played it so that's right.
The dancing kills me
Bloody well missed!🇬🇧🏴
The 1st piece of music I ever bought when I was 8...loved it ...👍..
That was the first live track I experienced as a 14 yr old at Oxford Apollo. 😮
love that Lemmy still rocked up armed with killer amp, thanks dave, loved the stray cats since was was a kid
He wouldn't play through anything else but Marshall amps. And he was still louder than the band
I love you Lemmy. I miss you. Always alive for us!
Fair played to Gilson , kept up well with lemmy!
If ever there was an audience out of place, then this was it.
lemmie is one of my many heroes of rock !!!
*Lemmy
I used to love the quip "but apparently I am". Now it just breaks my heart.
Hate to say it, but I like the sound of having two bassists on a Motorhead track. One guy tracking an octave lower than Lemmy with a more bassy tone.
Lanko Lanko Lemmy plays rhythm guitar on bass which is hard to play on top of your right the real job of the bass to fill everything else in
Yeah man totally agree. Lemmy never played bass as we know it, he played his own style that has yet to be replicated. Everything else with him is an enhancement.
Drummer is killing it. Guitarist is like “holy shit, I’m playing the ace of spades lick with Lemmy”
The guitarist is Steve Bolton. He filled in for Pete Townshend on the Who's 25th-anniversary tour (Pete was having trouble with his hearing and just wanted to play acoustic).
I had a guitar lesson with Steve once in a guitar shop in Lewisham around about 1991 (can't remember the shop's name) a really, really nice bloke and very genuine.
And Jools has a look on his face that says “this is a bit weird”
@@ChrisHopkinsBass haha yeah
Who's the drummer? He's giving it socks! In a suit as well? Must be sweating balls!
@@fobster2000 He's Gilson Lavis, the drummer from Squeeze. Some of their early stuff was pretty punky so I think he must have been having flashbacks during this!
we are motorhead !!!!!! and we play rock and roll !!!!!!
This just proves... Metal is transcendental
That's the quickest Jools has played . Brilliant track 😜
R .I.P Lemmy love you 🇬🇧
Lemme could have played with the backstreet boys and still have maintained his street cred!
Great, great, great, Rock and Roll is for everybody, youngs & olds !
❤️❤️❤️
R&R. Hard R. Metal Need volume 10/11 2 listen 2 Then Njoy the vibes 🔥🏴☠️🔥
DAMN.
Rare to see a horn section playing heavy metal.
There is no heavy metal in this video.
“We are Motörhead- and we play Rock’n’Roll”
The people dancing...not sure Lemmy ever envisaged that...
”...but apparently I am”
This is the only version of Ace of Spades I can actually still enjoy, it's far better than the original, especially with the brass section and piano
“…but apparently I am!”

Less is more in this case. Ace of Spades is the essence of a three minute, stripped down rock and roll song. What exactly did the piano and horn section of add to that?
It proves that no matter which instruments you use to play Ace of Spades just play it loud and fast.
I didn't listen to MH growing up. My HUGE loss.
What year is it?
1995.
The good day's
Killer present and correct. But where's Murder One ? 😊
The amp
Jools doesnt know if its a shite or a haircut he needs...🤣🤣👍👍
Dave swift, you were inspiral carpets bass player once?
No, that was a different Dave Swift.
Ahhh ok. Cheers for answer.
Yeah Jules, that's exactly what ace of spades needs,
More piano,😳😳😳
Maybe a cowbell through it,
😔😔😔
Pity fast eddie not there
Lem,Ronnie Both gone Sadly
The goofball on Piano, who is that John Travolta?
Jools Holland, great guy and pianist. Show some respect, his show (not this show with Lemmy) has given more exposure to new young artists and good musicians than almost anybody out there.
I think I messed my pants.
Thank god I'm a real Motörhead fan and not one of these rented puppets.
What's your problem? They're having fun!
the piano was kinda useless ;)
Those band guys look so far out of their element with Lemmy up there rockin out while they play a trumpet or sax with their little ponytail. Lol
He needs a cough drop! One song sounds like the next? Don't get it and l love everyone from Kitty Wells to the MC5, Ramones to Buck Owens, Led Zeppelin to The NY Dolls, l don't get the Lemmys sound!
Have you heard him sing “Peggy Sue Got Married” with his friends in Head Cat ?
…or Motörhead’s ‘I Ain’t No Nic Guy After All’ ?
*Nice Guy…. !
That crowd doesn't fit the music? And they all stop at the perfect moment ? I'd say rehearsed for television
No mate, pretty much everyone knows that song in England.
Dude on piano does not look very happy
He looks well happy to me!
Jools is rather Bored here :)
They should have played motörhead instead, it's a Little bit more Melodic .
