A Spongebob movie with a plot having on the main cast "escaping" The Backrooms with good animation + CGI would honestly be very interesting. Seeing Karen compute their chances of escaping a theoretically endless corridor of different dimensions would go nuts.
This is an insane edit, it's like an actual episode especially with the realistic lighting, not even that but editing the audio in certain areas too. Love it
the lighting effects and detail look so good that i thought the versions of spongebob and patrick they're using had to be from a movie or something until i realized that was part of the editing

Exactly. it's two worlds colliding that you wouldn't think would go well together. But goes well together PERFECTLY. This is definitely one of the better Backrooms inspired video lately.
"The immortal relevancy" i made this own internet rule called rule B.0.ɓ no mattwr where place in the internet you are there will be something spongebob related
@Angle pr it’s a mostly 4 chan term where if a thread is getting to the last page before being closed. Someone can just “bump” it to the first page. Don’t why he did it here, RUclips doesn’t work like 4chan. Nor should he, as it brings fucking goobers like himself bringing in idiots to further degenerate an already fallen empire. 😎
There are no words for how stupidly well edited this is. Everything from the seamless transitions in each pic to the shadows and lighting making them look like they're in these pictures. If someone didn't watch Spongebob often, this would literally be passed off as some part of an episode they haven't seen yet because it's so well done.
Do you know what episode the clips of SpongeBob and Patrick are from? I actually DID think this was a clip from a real episode, and I was just thinking "damn maybe the newer episodes still have creativity worth watching" LOL I'm pretty disappointed this isn't real, but the creator of this clip had me fooled and did not only an amazing job at executing their idea - but also of even imagining this random, depressing, void exploration - love the concept! 💕
I don't watch the new episodes but I really thought a for a second (at the end) that this could be a spongebob epsiode and maybe they really used pictures like these for backgrounds.
The lighting and shading make this x50 than it would have been otherwise. Those are things that can immensely affect your immersion in a work that most people don't think about. You did it astoundingly well.
the shadows are so well done, its so rare to see people actually take the time to make everything correctly blend together so its really satisfying to see
Surprisingly, this isn't even the first time SpongeBob found himself in a liminal space 😂 Examples: - The void where Squidward wanted to be alone. - The time the Flying Dutchman captured them and they escaped through a Macy's perfume department, and prior to that the Flying Dutchman threw Squidward into an endless fall of torture for being a Karen. - The time when they went into Squidward's locker because Spongebob stole his clarinet. - The time when they went to Random Land and ran into the Squidward Red Mist scene. - The Squidward Ethnostate even looks like a liminal space if you took all the people out and just saw all of the repeating houses. - The time SpongeBob went into everyone's dreams and Patrick was just peacefully vibing on a mechanical sea horsey in the middle of an empty void. Oh wait, I guess it's Squidward that usually ends up in Liminal Spaces..... Honorable Mentions: - Rock Bottom could be considered a liminal space to a degree since it's basically a near-empty bus station at 4AM with a bus that mysteriously disappears every time you approach it, but I'd personally categorized it as SpongeBob getting lost in Chicago or South Dallas at night instead. - The time SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward got lost in a forest only for the rescue guy to arrive and just be lost with them. I've never seen a liminal space in a jungle-type setting, but it technically checks all the boxes for a liminal space with it being virtually void of all other life in an endlessly repeating maze that you can't get out of, but again, it would be the first time I've ever seen it take place in a lush forest.
0:10 Patrick: “must be the *BORING* dimension, let’s go home” The demons in the darkness that were planning to scare them but then realize that they don’t care at all:
All the lighting and shadows used for Patrick and SpongeBob are fucking excellent, not just with shading but those they're projecting. Bravo, this is cartoon theatrical film quality.
As someone who works in an arcade with several areas that could be considered liminal spaces (indoor playground, abandoned indoor roller coaster, mirror room full of exclusively non functioning video games). This really captures the feeling of closing up at night when there's no people
If this was an actual episode, it would be the kind where SpongeBob and Patric would “use there imagination” or something and Squidward would be calling them idiots and saying they can’t do that. But then it works and squidward is proved wrong. Like that episode with the “Magic conch shell” in the forest.
This is an actual episode, except for the ending and the backgrounds. But I haven’t watched the whole episode so idk if they did use their “imagination”. Also squidward wasn’t there if I recalled
Nice use with the DoodleBob episode! Little do they know however, their own town will one day be liminal space as well... Much like everything humanity has ever built in the future.
This is really cool, I love the concept and animation. This reminds me of that one scene in Monsters Inc. when Sully and Mike went through a bunch of doors trying to escape Randall.
