      Awesome! Keep in mind most of the 395nm on Amazon are basically the same. if you want more power, then get one with more wattage. No problem, glad I can help!

    • @remconet
      @remconet 3 года назад

      That is a common misconception. Brightness does not equal quality with uv lights. It just means it's showing more visible (non-uv) light. For better effect choose the 365 nm light. That is the correct wavelength for true blacklight. I know it's counter intuitive, because you're inclined to buy the brightest one, but I'm guessing you want the best light-up from your uv paints (or whatever it is). But I'd buy a bigger wattage than this 2W one.

    Hi, is it possible to completely filter out the visible part of the emitted spectrum? I mean that the light source would not emit any purple/bluish light visible to the naked eye just make the painted objects glow.

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Год назад

      I don’t believe so. At 365nm, you’ll still see some visible light.

  • @alu7101
    @alu7101 Год назад +1

    Phooge, How did you find out the wavelengths of the LED UV lights? Do you have graphs of the two lights indicating their spectra, i.e. lumens (or some other indication of intensity) on the vertical axis and wavelength on the horizontal axis, or a URL to such information?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Год назад

      The product is branded as the wavelengths for these bulbs. You can also tell by how much visible light it puts out. Or, if you want to go really technical you can get a UV meter that measures wavelengths.

    • @alu7101
      @alu7101 Год назад

      @@UVBlackLights I have several of the Feit bulbs. I find no markings on the bulbs or the packaging regarding the wavelength(s) emitted.

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Год назад

      If you see a lot of visible purple light then it’s most likely around the 390-400nm range.

    Looking for a good black light bulb that will light up glow in the dark objects(even slightly) while regular lights are on around it as well. What would you recommend

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  3 года назад

      Hard to say, because if the regular lights are on it’ll kill any black light effect. I’d try to look for the highest wattage possible.

    • @andrewstambaugh240
      @andrewstambaugh240 3 года назад

      I'm guessing that 365nm would work better, because (as the channel said) you will need a lot of intensity to overcome the natural light.
      And you will probably want to dim the regular lights a little or change them temporarily to lower wattage bulbs to enhance the glow effect. A little dimness will go a long way to showing the glow.
      The 395nm puts out a visible purple light, so making that intense will make the room very purple and also that tends to wash out certain colors (eg if you have purple blackight paint and cast the room purple with 395nm light, then the purple will seem even more grey/not-purple)

    Would one sunlite bulb be enough to glow up a bedroom? If not how many ?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  2 года назад +2

      I would say 3 or 4 depending how big the bedroom is. I noticed it’s mainly for like a desktop lamp if you’re painting and such. If you want to do a whole bedroom I would get a tube style.

  • @remconet
    @remconet 3 года назад +1

    LOL that 365 nm bulb is literally 1 LED hahaha. You can buy those for $2 max on Aliexpress. Btw, is it possible to put a milky filter over a 365 nm LED or does diminish that the effect? Because a big bulp with just 1 LED doens't really look good.

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  3 года назад +1

      remconet that’s a steal for only 2 bucks then! The milk filter that I’m familiar with will diminish the effect, I believe it has certain fibers in there that’ll fluoresce. The 365nm LED isn’t really an eye sore, the 395nm sure is though!
