When choosing wall paint colors, a rule of thumb is: Select the sample you like most and then go two shades lighter when buying. Lighting and shadows will make it appear much darker. A small sample will always make you want the more vibrant selections, but a whole room full of it will make you want it lighter.
Our bathroom paint ended up WAY lighter than the colour card... but I agree, in my previous experience it usually ends up looking darker. Paint is so difficult.
And paint in several areas: corner, around window, sunny wall, wall behind door. No need to do a large area, and no need to tape it off and make it perfect. Just get it on there and watch how the color changes with the light throughout the day and at night.
My grandmothers bathroom was all pink (bathtub, sink, toilet, walls, tile, etc., even the toilet paper)! Honestly we all really loved it as kids, let's bring back crazy colorful bathrooms.

I live in an old rental with a mint green bath and basin and I love them! The tiles are white but have a slight opalescent look to them which is fun. If I owned it I'd paint the door a matching green

As someone who worked at a paint store, I would always recomend that people get a paint swatch and do a BIG ONE. One tip i found was to buy a piece of poster board and basically make yourself a giant swatch. That way you can also carry it around to the different areas to test lighting. So many times people would come back to the store after buying hundreds of dollars worth of paint and try to have us save it but it we could only do so much. Green was probably one of the hardest colours to get right.
Ok, first you have to promise not to shame me for a 90s sponge painting adventure. BUT: I wanted an effect of a soft green dappled light, like a woodland morning. The colors the paint store recommended contained no green at all. It turned out perfectly. I trust the pros like you!
I did the poster board thing when building this tiny house I live in. I wish I would have gone for the darker green I picked, but the method worked out so well! I got to see the paint swatch in every wall in all light. So helpful

In addition to swatches I made on 60x60 cm prepped plywood I found it useful to get a small (A5) notebook with pages colored with final colors. It was convenient to have it at hand when shopping for textiles, furniture and decor. And sage green was the easiest color to match - goes great with greys, mustardy yellows, etc
I always paint giant swatches directly on the walls (all of them) and watch it over the next few days and nights, including different weather if possible. Once I've decided, I just prime over the test swatches then paint the room.
For anybody wanting to paint a whole wall/room: 1) Go 1-3 shades lighter, since shops are immaculately lit and your flat will probably not be. 2) Take your samples, paint different spots in the room - close to the window, furthest from natural light and in-between. Check the colors throughout the day, colors will look different with different amounts of natural light. 3) Then check at night with your preferred lighting (cold or warm), those will majorly change the appearance of your colors (especially yellows, pinks, greys and blues)! If you like the lightness of colour but its too saturated: Find the opposite colour on the colour wheel and add a little at a time to your paint bucket, mix well. This will grey your color down. If you like the tone but not the lightness, add straight white paint. If have painted so many rooms by now and this gives the best, fastest and most cost effective outcome :)
As a tip for novice decorators: if you're having a hard time finding the perfect shade but you keep getting SO close, your paint mixer can alter them! Just like in this video, she said she almost found the perfect color, but it was a little too vibrant, you can ask the paint store to lighten it by 25%, 50%, etc, instead of trying to pick out a totally different color. That would have muted the vibrancy and made it a softer green.
Here in the US, if you have a sample of the color you want, from a magazine or a photo or other source--you can take it to a Major Home Center and they have a digital photog thing that calculates how to match the color in pigment. Or so I've heard--never tried it.
@@mschmidt62 yes, and in my experience, they are really good matches! I took a piece of the paint that was peeling off of my garage, and the Major Home Center people mixed a perfect match for it.
@@mellie4174 and sometimes people forget that colored walls still reflect color. So the green samples you paint on one wall are suddenly going to be twice as vibrant once you paint every wall green and they're reflecting off one another. Lighting will do the same thing! Those magazine inspiration pictures always have tons of natural daylight, but what happens at night when there's nothing but warm incandescent bulbs?

“They’ll sell you thousands of greens. Veronese green and emerald green and cadmium green and any sort of green you like; but that particular green, never.” - Picasso. There's still one wall in my parents' house that's the most headache-inducing shade of green from when I was 12 and thought that 'sunlight through a leaf' was a reasonable shade to aim for when decorating my bedroom. When I finally moved out, what did I do? Continued my quest for the perfect shade of green to paint my wardrobe doors (Rust-Oleum chalk-effect wood paint was the closest thing humanly possible).
Same with all yellows, I was looking with my mom for a mustard paint for a kitchen, with this mushy / green undertone (like mustard, lol) and all the paints was very vibrant and yellow and nothing close to what we wanted
my mom always told me, when choosing paint for a wall remember it always looks much darker on the wall then on the sample sheet, so go 6 shades lighter than you think you want, you can always darken it at some point XD.

As far as your yellow wallpaper wall, you could always try to find a stencil paint roller! We decided on wallpaper when redoing a room in our house, then wrestled with the thought of selling the house, and I knew that I didn't want to drop a lot of money on wallpaper for the new owners to tear it out (The room we are redoing is also victorian-esqe themed). I found a beautiful stencil roller on etsy, and everyone that has seen the finished wall asked where we got the wallpaper from! Also, it was MUCH cheaper than the wallpaper I had picked out, and much more accurate to the victorian theme. Over $300 for the wallpaper, and about $50 for the stencil and the double roller to use with the stencil. I hope this helped anyone who needed it!
this is a great idea bc i always wonder about how it works to hang frames and stuff on a wallpaper wall... but this is prob the solution if i ever do want a patterned wall! thank you!
The way I put nails thru is that I use a box cutter to name little slits in an x pattern and then put a nail thru the middle. That way it's still invisible but I don't poke a hole thru
Paint sampling is a nightmare. We did 5 samples on our living room wall and they were all SO different from the little square and online. What we learned is whatever sample you like, pick a shade way lighter/more muted than you think you want. It will almost always end up more saturated than you think. The flat looks amazing!
I think it's because when you have a lot of the same color it tends to kind of "multiply" itself, reflecting from one wall to another. And samples are rarely painted in 3 coats, so that's also a reason for the color to look more vibrant.
At least one nice thing is you can use the "OMG too colourful!" paint as an accent wall and have it muted down to a similar but much lighter colour for the rest of the walls...
pro tip for anyone who wants to paint their walls green: always go for a greyer, more olive or sand shade, the natural sunlight will make it brighter and warmer color, plus warm leds in the room will do the same trust me, i've done some green wall painting in my life and i have regrets

@@minkamausi9285 mostly because it was being painted on a white primer walls. Same color over a white primer vs grey primer will look totally different. A safer bet is to paint wall swatches at eye level - because that's going to give you a better idea of what the color will look like - since it's going to imitate what you're going to see in daily life in terms of light reflection etc
Though to be fair sometimes there's no good way to know for sure how a color is gonna turn out until you paint the full room - and have light reflecting off the walls etc How we perceive color is weird af
@@minkamausi9285 It could be related to color theory aswell. When you put a color next to another it can look drastically different. Initially Karolina had that green next to a darker shade of green, that can make the vibrant green she chose look a little paler in comparison, but once it's all the same shade there is nothing to break off that color.
@@minkamausi9285 it was next to a very similar green who was next to a grayish green, all that make it looks "darker" and cooler, if you're used to it, you're not as easily mislead and can see their actual tone. Also, she painted it _so low_, once it would get on all the walls and the sun would reflect light, any color will look waaay brighter.
For my bedroom I wanted the perfect warm deep (almost black) green and I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE so I just took my acrylics and made my own colour and took it to the paint shop, and then spent an hour with the lady who works there matching it to a paint they had. 10/10 would recommend this method

I’ve been LOVING Karolina’s outfits throughout this series. I feel like because she does so many sit down videos. We don’t get to see her outfits in full, so this has been delightful.
Old places SHOULD have a mix of eras. My grandparents had an old Victorian house with some Edwardian stuff, some Deco stuff, some 40's stuff and it was perfect. It just happened organically as time went on. The only thing I didn't love in that house was Grandma's 50's blonde wood vanity. I thought the Deco vanity in one of the guest rooms was MUCH nicer.
It makes sense that an old place might have a mix of eras as different parts get updated at different times. Or if the decor predates the place, you can justify it by making it a retro-retro thing 😁

GOD do I enjoy seeing some design that isn't the typical Scandinavian one where I live and come from. Refreshing to see others loving colour as much as I do or have different looking trinkets and fun designs. @@thebookgoddess7380 Foyer works for me too. When I use mudroom I tend to think more of a room in the back of a house but maybe that is just me. I grew up on a farm and the little room/enclosed porch in the back was a mudroom sometimes called the breezeway and was the place for smelly farm boots and jackets. But that's the beauty of words, isn't it? That they have all these little nuances and sometimes they are individual to the person. I love your "name" - TheBookGoddess! How evocative!
I LOVE watching old stuff get cleaned and get a new lease on life. Some things have aged very gracefully and just because they're a different style than what's popular today doesn't take away from their beauty! Also seeing you put the little details on is somehow more satisfying than seeing a wood floor go in.
I like the art deco/older styles mix! It almost reminds me of the interiors aboard the ocean liner M.V. Britannic of 1929; a perfect mix of art deco and traditional styles :)
Oh Karolina, I wanted to paint my bathroom a nice historical green, and have been struggling to find the perfect color for so long as well!!! But a tip if you're still looking for the right color: eventually I went with the brand 'Little Greene', they have all kinds of historical colors!

I love the joy in your voice when you talk about your flat :-) As for painting walls (it's not going to be of much use to you now, but maybe someone else will profit haha): I remember when I was decorating my flat, I read somewhere that you should see which colour in the sample strip looks like what you want - then choose the one two shades lighter. Because it's always going to be more intense on the walls. Also the good thing about paint is: you can always repaint if you really dislike it haha.
I love this series so much so far! My mom is actually currently renovating an old Victorian house (of course after I move out my parents finally get a house hahaha) and while the design choices are very different it’s the same fun, overwhelming, seemingly never-ending process (that I mostly just hear about). Don’t beat yourself up about how long it takes to get these projects done, it’s always more difficult than you’d expect.

The natural light of the room, the size of the room, and the walls reflecting the color off each other (intensifying it) all make getting paint right difficult. I've learned to not worry about changing my mind even after I've nearly finished the job. Can't wait to see the finished product- it's going to be amazin'! Oglądałam i w pewnym momencie pomyślałm "naprawdę Karolina zostawi ten kolor ścian w salonie?". Przeczucie mnie jednak nie myliło, że towoje poczucie estetyki nie będzie w stanie go znieść. Akurat przemalowanie ścian to nie zrywanie płytek. Warto poświęcić jeden więcej dzień i trochę pieniędzy na nowe farby aby otrzymać kolor ścian jaki nam się podoba, niż codziennie przez najbliższe 10 lat patrzeć na nie i myśleć "trzeba było przemalować". Na tej zielonej ścianie sofa wyglądała niekorzystnie, kolory gryzły się a na tle różowej znacznie zyskuje kolory wzajemnie się ładnie podbijają.

I had a pink toilet, pink sink, and pink bathtub, not to mention pink paisley wall wallpaper. It was all very original to my 1950s house and it was A LOT 😂 I was so happy when I remodeled as all the pink made the space seem smaller. So glad Karolina went with a different color scheme 🙂

I am so heckin invested in this renovation. Well, it's mostly just me living vicariously through Karolina because damn I wish I could afford to live alone.
I lost my Dad 7 years ago. But mine like yours was always up for not just doing things for me but teaching me how to do things. If he was working on the car it was 'tameralyn come learn how to...." change the oil, check the fluids and change the bulbs. And not just change your tire but actually fix the hole in it. He showed me how to use pantyhose...yes pantyhose...as a belt to get you to a safe place. He taught me how and where to hit a man if he was being aggressive or ya know.. Dads are so important in a kids life. I thank my paternal grandpa for teaching my Dad how to be a Dad. He didn't have to, he was a step dad(bio grandpa died in ww2)..but he stepped in and stepped up. My husband didn't have to do the same thing to my older kids(their Dad had a heartattack in his late 20s)...but he did. Stood there and waited for them to need a Dad and be there. I'm so so glad your Dad is there helping you. Everytime you look at the floor or lights on the walls you will think of him. Such a precious memory....hold them dear. Hold him dear...looks like you got a great one.

My parents did each room in the house a different era or country: kitchen - colonial America; living room - Asian/ African; dining room - Spain; den - Mexico, bedroom - 1960s retro. So now my won home is very eclectic house where nothing is out of bounds.

Just a suggestion, there is a colour green by Benjamin Moore paint called October Mist CC-550. It is said to be colourful and warm, yet calm enough to be a new neutral. This gorgeous soft and earthy shade of green would pair perfectly with the style, furnishings and era you want to decorate in. Try a tester pot and see if you like it and good luck.

With paint, you really need to get a sample jar and paint a small area of the wall, then observe it in various lighting for a week before committing. The natural lighting in the room has a major impact on how the paint will look in your space.

A tip for paint swatching is to paint a large sheet of paper or cardboard with the primer and color of choice (like a poster) and tape it to the wall. That way you can have a large swatch to consider without actually painting the walls, and you can carry it around to different areas of your house to test different lighting effects.

I mean.. *scrapes throat* so I found this old lamp that _happens to be_ something I love and it got all greasy but I cleaned it! And whaddayaknow it fits *perfectly* in here!"
As someone who worked at a paint store, I would always recomend that people get a paint swatch and do a BIG ONE. One tip i found was to buy a piece of poster board and basically make yourself a giant swatch. That way you can also carry it around to the different areas to test lighting. So many times people would come back to the store after buying hundreds of dollars worth of paint and try to have us save it but it we could only do so much. Green was probably one of the hardest colours to get right.
Ok, first you have to promise not to shame me for a 90s sponge painting adventure. BUT: I wanted an effect of a soft green dappled light, like a woodland morning. The colors the paint store recommended contained no green at all. It turned out perfectly. I trust the pros like you!
I did the poster board thing when building this tiny house I live in. I wish I would have gone for the darker green I picked, but the method worked out so well! I got to see the paint swatch in every wall in all light. So helpful
As someone who has to choose a lot of paint colors for a house soon and who has been stressed about where I'd place swatches, this is SUPER helpful! Thank you for sharing your insight. :D
In addition to swatches I made on 60x60 cm prepped plywood I found it useful to get a small (A5) notebook with pages colored with final colors. It was convenient to have it at hand when shopping for textiles, furniture and decor. And sage green was the easiest color to match - goes great with greys, mustardy yellows, etc
I always paint giant swatches directly on the walls (all of them) and watch it over the next few days and nights, including different weather if possible. Once I've decided, I just prime over the test swatches then paint the room.
Your sister having the exact color dress and holding it up to the wall to see what it would like is the most sister thing I have seen in a long time.
For anybody wanting to paint a whole wall/room:
1) Go 1-3 shades lighter, since shops are immaculately lit and your flat will probably not be.
2) Take your samples, paint different spots in the room - close to the window, furthest from natural light and in-between. Check the colors throughout the day, colors will look different with different amounts of natural light.
3) Then check at night with your preferred lighting (cold or warm), those will majorly change the appearance of your colors (especially yellows, pinks, greys and blues)!
If you like the lightness of colour but its too saturated: Find the opposite colour on the colour wheel and add a little at a time to your paint bucket, mix well. This will grey your color down.
If you like the tone but not the lightness, add straight white paint.
If have painted so many rooms by now and this gives the best, fastest and most cost effective outcome :)
As a tip for novice decorators: if you're having a hard time finding the perfect shade but you keep getting SO close, your paint mixer can alter them! Just like in this video, she said she almost found the perfect color, but it was a little too vibrant, you can ask the paint store to lighten it by 25%, 50%, etc, instead of trying to pick out a totally different color. That would have muted the vibrancy and made it a softer green.
Exactly! They can add colors to darken, to warm, to cool and even to lighten. I love getting custom colors done!
Here in the US, if you have a sample of the color you want, from a magazine or a photo or other source--you can take it to a Major Home Center and they have a digital photog thing that calculates how to match the color in pigment. Or so I've heard--never tried it.

@@mellie4174 and sometimes people forget that colored walls still reflect color. So the green samples you paint on one wall are suddenly going to be twice as vibrant once you paint every wall green and they're reflecting off one another.
Lighting will do the same thing! Those magazine inspiration pictures always have tons of natural daylight, but what happens at night when there's nothing but warm incandescent bulbs?

“They’ll sell you thousands of greens. Veronese green and emerald green and cadmium green and any sort of green you like; but that particular green, never.” - Picasso. There's still one wall in my parents' house that's the most headache-inducing shade of green from when I was 12 and thought that 'sunlight through a leaf' was a reasonable shade to aim for when decorating my bedroom. When I finally moved out, what did I do? Continued my quest for the perfect shade of green to paint my wardrobe doors (Rust-Oleum chalk-effect wood paint was the closest thing humanly possible).
Same with all yellows, I was looking with my mom for a mustard paint for a kitchen, with this mushy / green undertone (like mustard, lol) and all the paints was very vibrant and yellow and nothing close to what we wanted
my mom always told me, when choosing paint for a wall remember it always looks much darker on the wall then on the sample sheet, so go 6 shades lighter than you think you want, you can always darken it at some point XD.
Seriously. I've ended up mixing my own paint for two of my rooms because it is so hard to get the correct shade from the store!

As far as your yellow wallpaper wall, you could always try to find a stencil paint roller! We decided on wallpaper when redoing a room in our house, then wrestled with the thought of selling the house, and I knew that I didn't want to drop a lot of money on wallpaper for the new owners to tear it out (The room we are redoing is also victorian-esqe themed). I found a beautiful stencil roller on etsy, and everyone that has seen the finished wall asked where we got the wallpaper from! Also, it was MUCH cheaper than the wallpaper I had picked out, and much more accurate to the victorian theme. Over $300 for the wallpaper, and about $50 for the stencil and the double roller to use with the stencil. I hope this helped anyone who needed it!

The way I put nails thru is that I use a box cutter to name little slits in an x pattern and then put a nail thru the middle. That way it's still invisible but I don't poke a hole thru
Paint sampling is a nightmare. We did 5 samples on our living room wall and they were all SO different from the little square and online. What we learned is whatever sample you like, pick a shade way lighter/more muted than you think you want. It will almost always end up more saturated than you think.

I think it's because when you have a lot of the same color it tends to kind of "multiply" itself, reflecting from one wall to another. And samples are rarely painted in 3 coats, so that's also a reason for the color to look more vibrant.

I had the opposite problem with the tan I picked out for my living & dining room. It looks more like a cream than a tan. Much lighter than I expected.
At least one nice thing is you can use the "OMG too colourful!" paint as an accent wall and have it muted down to a similar but much lighter colour for the rest of the walls...
My trick is to close one eye and hold the sample paper at arms length. It gives you an idea what a large chunk of the wall will look like.
pro tip for anyone who wants to paint their walls green: always go for a greyer, more olive or sand shade, the natural sunlight will make it brighter and warmer color, plus warm leds in the room will do the same

@@minkamausi9285 mostly because it was being painted on a white primer walls. Same color over a white primer vs grey primer will look totally different. A safer bet is to paint wall swatches at eye level - because that's going to give you a better idea of what the color will look like - since it's going to imitate what you're going to see in daily life in terms of light reflection etc
Though to be fair sometimes there's no good way to know for sure how a color is gonna turn out until you paint the full room - and have light reflecting off the walls etc How we perceive color is weird af
@@minkamausi9285 It could be related to color theory aswell. When you put a color next to another it can look drastically different. Initially Karolina had that green next to a darker shade of green, that can make the vibrant green she chose look a little paler in comparison, but once it's all the same shade there is nothing to break off that color.
@@minkamausi9285 it was next to a very similar green who was next to a grayish green, all that make it looks "darker" and cooler, if you're used to it, you're not as easily mislead and can see their actual tone. Also, she painted it _so low_, once it would get on all the walls and the sun would reflect light, any color will look waaay brighter.
For my bedroom I wanted the perfect warm deep (almost black) green and I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE so I just took my acrylics and made my own colour and took it to the paint shop, and then spent an hour with the lady who works there matching it to a paint they had. 10/10 would recommend this method

I’ve been LOVING Karolina’s outfits throughout this series. I feel like because she does so many sit down videos. We don’t get to see her outfits in full, so this has been delightful.
Old places SHOULD have a mix of eras. My grandparents had an old Victorian house with some Edwardian stuff, some Deco stuff, some 40's stuff and it was perfect. It just happened organically as time went on. The only thing I didn't love in that house was Grandma's 50's blonde wood vanity. I thought the Deco vanity in one of the guest rooms was MUCH nicer.
It makes sense that an old place might have a mix of eras as different parts get updated at different times. Or if the decor predates the place, you can justify it by making it a retro-retro thing 😁

I grew up on a farm and the little room/enclosed porch in the back was a mudroom sometimes called the breezeway and was the place for smelly farm boots and jackets. But that's the beauty of words, isn't it? That they have all these little nuances and sometimes they are individual to the person. I love your "name" - TheBookGoddess! How evocative!
Paint colours can be so hard to get right! The shape and size of the space, the lighting, the finish of the paint.
I LOVE watching old stuff get cleaned and get a new lease on life. Some things have aged very gracefully and just because they're a different style than what's popular today doesn't take away from their beauty! Also seeing you put the little details on is somehow more satisfying than seeing a wood floor go in.

Oh Karolina, I wanted to paint my bathroom a nice historical green, and have been struggling to find the perfect color for so long as well!!! But a tip if you're still looking for the right color: eventually I went with the brand 'Little Greene', they have all kinds of historical colors!

I love the joy in your voice when you talk about your flat :-) As for painting walls (it's not going to be of much use to you now, but maybe someone else will profit haha): I remember when I was decorating my flat, I read somewhere that you should see which colour in the sample strip looks like what you want - then choose the one two shades lighter. Because it's always going to be more intense on the walls. Also the good thing about paint is: you can always repaint if you really dislike it haha.
I went with this advice and ended up with gray that's so light it looks white 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love this series so much so far! My mom is actually currently renovating an old Victorian house (of course after I move out my parents finally get a house hahaha) and while the design choices are very different it’s the same fun, overwhelming, seemingly never-ending process (that I mostly just hear about). Don’t beat yourself up about how long it takes to get these projects done, it’s always more difficult than you’d expect.

The natural light of the room, the size of the room, and the walls reflecting the color off each other (intensifying it) all make getting paint right difficult. I've learned to not worry about changing my mind even after I've nearly finished the job. Can't wait to see the finished product- it's going to be amazin'! So sick of grey and bland everything in decorating these days.

Przeczucie mnie jednak nie myliło, że towoje poczucie estetyki nie będzie w stanie go znieść. Akurat przemalowanie ścian to nie zrywanie płytek. Warto poświęcić jeden więcej dzień i trochę pieniędzy na nowe farby aby otrzymać kolor ścian jaki nam się podoba, niż codziennie przez najbliższe 10 lat patrzeć na nie i myśleć "trzeba było przemalować".
Na tej zielonej ścianie sofa wyglądała niekorzystnie, kolory gryzły się a na tle różowej znacznie zyskuje kolory wzajemnie się ładnie podbijają.

I had a pink toilet, pink sink, and pink bathtub, not to mention pink paisley wall wallpaper. It was all very original to my 1950s house and it was A LOT 😂 I was so happy when I remodeled as all the pink made the space seem smaller. So glad Karolina went with a different color scheme 🙂

I am so heckin invested in this renovation. Well, it's mostly just me living vicariously through Karolina because damn I wish I could afford to live alone.
I lost my Dad 7 years ago. But mine like yours was always up for not just doing things for me but teaching me how to do things. If he was working on the car it was 'tameralyn come learn how to...." change the oil, check the fluids and change the bulbs. And not just change your tire but actually fix the hole in it. He showed me how to use pantyhose...yes pantyhose...as a belt to get you to a safe place. He taught me how and where to hit a man if he was being aggressive or ya know.. Dads are so important in a kids life. I thank my paternal grandpa for teaching my Dad how to be a Dad. He didn't have to, he was a step dad(bio grandpa died in ww2)..but he stepped in and stepped up. My husband didn't have to do the same thing to my older kids(their Dad had a heartattack in his late 20s)...but he did. Stood there and waited for them to need a Dad and be there.
I'm so so glad your Dad is there helping you. Everytime you look at the floor or lights on the walls you will think of him. Such a precious memory....hold them dear. Hold him dear...looks like you got a great one.

My parents did each room in the house a different era or country: kitchen - colonial America; living room - Asian/ African; dining room - Spain; den - Mexico, bedroom - 1960s retro. So now my won home is very eclectic house where nothing is out of bounds.

Just a suggestion, there is a colour green by Benjamin Moore paint called October Mist CC-550. It is said to be colourful and warm, yet calm enough to be a new neutral. This gorgeous soft and earthy shade of green would pair perfectly with the style, furnishings and era you want to decorate in. Try a tester pot and see if you like it and good luck.

With paint, you really need to get a sample jar and paint a small area of the wall, then observe it in various lighting for a week before committing. The natural lighting in the room has a major impact on how the paint will look in your space.

A tip for paint swatching is to paint a large sheet of paper or cardboard with the primer and color of choice (like a poster) and tape it to the wall. That way you can have a large swatch to consider without actually painting the walls, and you can carry it around to different areas of your house to test different lighting effects.
