Sarge and Sheik was one of the greatest wrestling rivalries of all time. We're all gonna miss Sheiky. Kudos to Sarge for being unfailingly awesome as always
I love that the Sarge knows his fans will be watching this so he wore the G.I. Joe hat. That was a nice touch. It's also nice to see how in high regard he holds the Iron Sheik in his heart. R.I.P. The Iron Sheik. Iron Sheik number ☝
Would've been more iconic if he wore the drill instructor hat that he wore way back. That would've really brought back the 80s. Nice to hear his stories about Sheik. The old guard is slowly fading away...
Love Sheik, but what you said is highly debatable and just an opinion. Guys like Piper, Flair and even Hogan himself and a bunch of others can be called "best heel ever". It's tough to pick only one.
Sarge wearing the G.I Joe hat gave me fantastic memories watching G.I Joe as a kid and how exciting those episodes were when he was on it. RIP Sheiky! One of the greatest Heels of All-Time.
This one hurts so very much, growing up he was my absolute favorite wrestler and as the yrs went on, loved seeing him whenever he made a appearance, his HOF speech was the best thing ever, will always remember you as the greatest, rest now as we forever think of you Sheiky Baby, "Mr camera man, Zoom in" 💔😢
The 'Boot Camp' matches between Sarge and the Sheik in the 80's were great. These guys knew how to get a crowd into a match and both worked hard in the ring. Sarge was a very underrated bump-taker especially for a guy his size. RIP Iron Sheik.
The Iron Sheik, flat-out, is the greatest “Heel” in the history of professional wrestling. No one today could play a character like him. He was politically incorrect before we even knew what that meant. He was powerful in the ring, and beloved by his legions of fans. His rivalries with Sgt. Slaughter and Hulk Hogan are standards that may be imitated, but will never be equaled, let alone exceeded. The profanity-laden political commentary of his later years was as important as his legendary exploits in the ring. RIP,Iron Sheik!!!!!!!
I remember Sgt Slaughter and Iron Sheik together as a faction going against Hulk Hulk on the build to Wrestlemania 7. Great memories! Sgt Slaughter and Iron Sheik were really great characters in the world of wrestling. I miss seeing them both wrestling on tv. Blessings to both of those great wrestling legends. There will never be another 2 like them. They are both one of a kind. The Iron Sheiks hall of fame speech was SO FUNNY! Thats something everyone should think about everytime they feel sad about Sheik passing away. He was really a character for real haha a very funny guy
The Iron Sheik was a terrific heel. He was also the main antagonist that helped to turn professional wrestling into an incredible spectacle. He passed the torch to Hogan and his feud with Sgt. Slaughter was legendary.
I literally just found out from one of the wrestling channels I'm subscribed to. Im gutted, my prayers to his family and friends. I remember watching WWF as a kid and genuinely hating him, it was only when i was an adult i really appreciated him for how great he was. Those Iranian weight things he used to swing over his head were crazy. 81? He lived a lot longer than some of the other wrestlers. Such a legend, RIP Iron Sheikh.
I was privileged to watch Sarge and Sheik wrestle each other in a boot camp match in New Haven, CT in 1992, when Sheik was known as Col. Mustafa. It was an honor to be sitting ringside, and we got to interact with Sarge as he was heading down to the ring. RIP Sheik, and thank you for your positive contributions to my childhood memories!
It's so sad. I feel like I knew more about him than any other wrestling legend. Howard Stern, documentaries, interviews. He went through a lot of pain in his life, but he's a great example of the American dream.
One thing I have to say about Sgt. Slaughter is that he took hellacious bumps, it was incredible seeing a man his size doing those things. He would be hurled into the ringpost and he would flip over and fall belly down onto the cement floor!
I can't remember if it was 91 or 93 Royal Rumble, but the Sarge did 1 serious ring post belly flop as he got eliminated. As a teen I thought he hurt himself for real, but the Sarge was just a fantastic seller of the move..
Another legend gone. Another wrestler who was also a great actor who knew how to work the crowd. Sarge is a great guy too. Shame how many wrestlers we lose each year.
First I saw his hat and thought how cool then I saw his shirt caused a lump in my throat then his love for The Iron Sheik made the eyes most up! Luv you Sarge!
To think, it all started over a misunderstanding in February 1984. The Iron Sheik was finished with his Match, and Sgt. Slaughter who was a Heel was trying to get thru and Sheik and Blassie blocked him, Slaughter cusses him out, security intervenes, they're separated but the War had already begun!
Life just seems a little less fun without Shieky Baby. The Iron Sheik was absolutely one of a kind. There will never be another one of him. Just an absolute legend in every way. RIP Sheik. You're a legend
The 80s thanks to the explosion of media, and crossover with other entertainment, will NEVER be duplicated again. Nothing will ever capture the greatness that came out of that. RIP Sheik and thanks for all of it, the shoot videos and story's you left we can still enjoy. Sgt Slaughter is the perfect guy to tell his story.
It was sad to learn that his daughter passed away cuz somebody killed her and I felt so sorry for the Iron sheik he loved his kids so much and when lost his daughter it felt like his heart was ripped into pieces
He was the first villain i saw and man i loved watching him. Said to myself. There will never be another one like him. Boy was i right. RIP shieky baby
I've always said there should be a serious dramatic film made about the Iron Sheik's life. From Iran until death. His life had all the highs and lows and in betweens.
I hate seeing all these wrestlers from my generation dying. It feels like it takes a piece of my childhood everytime. But I remember always saying to myself at least we still have The Iron Sheik. True story.
I have memories of watching him against The Sheik from ny childhood. Some of the best memories with my Dad. He loved wrestling so nuch and raised me as a fan as well. Fly high, Sir. Thanks for the memories ❤
Was thinking at lunch today before I heard of this just now, how cool it'd be to meet sheik. Don't guess I'll ever have that opportunity now. Man kept it real all the way to the end.
It sucks that the older I get the more old school wrestlers keep dying off. I'm glad to see Sgt. Slaughter is still in good shape and seems to be of sound mind. I know he does a lot of conventions, maybe not as many as he used to, but he's a guy I'd like to meet just to say thanks. I wasn't even really a fan of his as a wrestler, as I didn't watch it when I was a kid, but I was a huge fan of GI Joe and I loved Sgt. Slaughter in the episodes he was in.
The Iron Sheik was one of my all time favorite heels. He was one of the best at drawing heat with the fans. Iron Sheik vs Sgt. Slaughter was one of the greatest feuds in wrestling history. Rest in peace to one of the consummate professionals and legends in the wrestling business.
The World Wrestling Federation's Most Violent Feud was Sgt. Slaughter vs The Iron Sheik. I love that Rivalry. We got Blood every single Match! Thank You for the Bloodshed! Sheiky Baby! I LOVE YOU!
I think it's interesting that Slaughter said both he and Sheik refused to have any pictures of themselves in character in their homes yet Bret Hart's house is absolutely full of them.
My god ! I remember when he turned good . ( we didn’t know what a babyface was back then ) it was such a chilling moment ! Him saying the pledge of allegiance while standing on the second rope the crowed went freaking nuts !!! Thanks for such an iconic moment in my childhood sarge !
WWF Championship Wrestling (February 11, 1984) Sergeant Slaughter (Heel to Face) vs The Iron Sheik (Mega Heel) The Greatest Babyface Turn in The World Wrestling Federation.
The cartoon age of wrestling that Sarge and Sheik were so instrumental to building was so much fun to watch as a kid. RIP Sheik - you had a hell of a run.
you are very good man sarge. and we missed iron sheik and general adnan. we wish you the best. god bless iron sheik and adnan souls . good memories will stays forever.
Sgt is a REAL one for telling Sheik not to break Hogan’s leg for Verne. Had he done that,he would’ve blown through that 100K on cocaine from the depression of NEVER working in the Wrestling business again! Say what you want about WWE but Sheik was from that transition era,Vince had him back on tv way past his prime, merchandise made of him,Hall of Fame induction & probably a Legends contract to do nothing. Breaking Hogan’s leg would’ve ended any income to take care of his family for a LOOOONG time. Rip Sheiki Baby🙏🏾
