Any trims? I get less than an inch trimmed every six months. It seems like it would slow you down and it does a little, but my hair is still growing long and going towards my butt. Taking out the split ends and uneven hairs gives it a few months of just better quality hair. I know some guys swear by never getting a trim at all but I think you risk split ends getting worse that way.

Lol I know getting a trim here and there is better, but I kind of like the messy look. It's not a look for everyone, but I've been pulling it off fairly well since high school. I'm coming up on 7 1/2 years without so much as a trim. My hair probably would be longer if I had gotten regular trims, but I like the look. My hair is really thick and curly too
James Alexander I get what you mean. There is definitely a messy unkept look Ike that. I can’t pull it off. It’s a cool look though. Like you said you can still take care of your hair and keep that look. You don’t need split ends to have it.
Danny Sculptor You only have to trim it if you literally spot split ends, not just because of the amount of months passed since the last trim.

I got thin hair ,i have been growing it out for 5 years now , i use regular vaseline it works wonders and it don't soak in like oils ,try it !
Wash your hair like everyday to make it dry and less weighted, greasy hair looks like shit anyway. Then by products like sea salt spray. Also if it’s thin, I would not grow it too long. A shoulder length might look better. Wear your bun loose and on the higher side because it less weight on the hairline making it look smaller.

Always done a basic fold over style bun when my hair was growing out, and then either the regular tail or fold over now that it's longer. I didn't even think about a second hair tie for the high ball, and the tip about using a fairly small fold over with a longer tail as a base for the high ball is great, thanks!

This is really good. Was growing my hair out to donate and it's been driving me nuts. Figured out the semi top-knot on my own, but using the top as a base is great! And doing two when it's short is going to be a life-saver next round!

Hey Long Hairs! Just wanted to let u guys now, I unfortunately cut off my long hair a couple days ago... one of the reason why was because about 12 months into my hair growth last year, I shaved part of the sides of my head, and I’ve been really regretting, it looks a bad uneven undercut.... I’m waiting for the sides to grow in a little longer than I can finally grow again by summer!!!

I don’t like how I look with a slicked back pony tail. My head shape is wrong for it. I do an off center side part mans tail. The part is not down the middle but where my natural part is, about an inch left of the center line and then I tie in the back the same way. Works for me. Don’t see a lot of guys doing it but after much debate and practice, it’s the one for me. I’ll do the normal mans tail if I’m wearing a bandana or head wrap though.

I have i question for anyone. I have thick heavy wavy hair and every time I tie it up (and yes even hair ties for guy) when I take it out it pulls my hair out any tips to stop it or less is much appreciated
I get you, my hair and my husbands is the same you can do two things, firsts of all don't wash too much hydrated hair doesn't get pulled as easily and second of all the only hair tie in the world that really doesn't pull any hairs out is...silk scrunchies, I'm sorry to say it but silk is the only thing but it's super girly and I don't think lot of guys a are wearing them 🤷🏻♀️

This is my first time tying my hair. Since I have naturally curly hair that tangles easily, should I instead work with freshly shampooed and conditioned hair? I don't want to damage or pull out any hair while combing and brushing, and I definitely don't want to break a comb.

I don’t think there’s an answer for that. I like my hair straight but it’s naturally curly. Easy to break the curls though so just brushing it out is enough or going further with a heat brush.
