    Yes, in the past, radioactive materials were used for the night display on the hands, which glowed in the dark, but it was harmful to nature. Later, fluorescent materials were used, which had a short lighting time, and later Lumibright technology was used in Japanese watches. which stored light faster and had more exposure and was compatible with the environment

      Well, if it was a 1940's clock then those hands were very likely painted with radium. Your removal technique has created a gross-contamination of your entire workspace. You need to check these things with a geiger counter before you go removing paint from old clocks, watches or instrumentation pointers or knobs.
      I have had to decon work areas where this has happened. It was a prolonged process and took multiple cleanup steps with checks with a much more sensitive detector than the $100 garden variety civil defense meters.
      Radium is a 'bone seeker' if you ingest it your body tries to treat it like calcium and you will carry that radioactivity with you for the rest of your life.

      Thanks for your thorough explanation as I understand it and some people say this watch is from the late 70's

    That came out super nice. Great job. Reminded me of my childhood. Grandad had a similar one,but with two bell type things on each side on top. When I'd spend Friday and Saturday night, I got to hear in the morning and run to his room also he could let me shut it off. Very cool memory. Thanks for the memories my friend.

    Definitely not from the 40's. I bought a clock just like this, also made in Germany, new in Montreal in the late 70's. I loved it. Unfortunately the legs on my clock were made of plastic and kept breaking. I mended it a few times but the repairs didn't hold and I didn't have the skills to fix it properly. Wish I still had it.

    Beautiful restoration job you did on the old alarm clock. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
    I know that this is the same comment I make on most restoration videos, but the restoration work is truly impressive.

    عالی بود قدیما برای داخل عقربه ها از اورانیم استفاده میکردن برای شب نما شدن و درخشندگی در تاریکی وقتی اون لایه داخلی عقربه ها رو لمس میکنی حتما از دسنکش استفاده کن

    • @Unique_restorations
      @Unique_restorations  3 месяца назад

      بله در گذشته از مواد رادیواکتیو برای قسمت شب نما بر روی عقربه ها استفاده می شود که در تاریکی میدرخشید اما برای طبیعت مضر بعد از مواد فلورسنت استفاده می شود که مدت نور دهی آن کوتاه بوده و بعد از آن در ساعت های ژاپنی از تکنولوژی لومی برایت استفاده می شود. که هم سریع تر نور را ذخیره میکرد و هم نوردهی بیشتر داشت و با محیط زیست هم سازگار بود

    I don’t believe I would’ve painted it. It would’ve looked a lot cooler and period correct if it would’ve just been polished brass. Good job though.

    Un buon lavoro, ma il movimento interno andava smontato completamente, poi pulito e successivamente oliato durante il montaggio.

      Buongiorno, visto che non c'era ruggine ma solo polvere, ho preferito non aprire i pezzi perché dava molta fatica, inoltre in queste ore è sconsigliata l'oliatura perché assorbe polvere.

    I think u frogot that the clock needs oiling too especially staying in diet like that and after the wash

    • @Unique_restorations
      @Unique_restorations  3 месяца назад

      Hello my friend, the clock mechanism is designed in such a way that it works without lubricant and oil because oil absorbs dust, if you buy a new clock, you will see that there is no oil, also the whole mechanism is made of brass and is rusted. It can't be done, so it doesn't need to be immersed in descaler solutions

    Hallo,
    Sie haben das sehr schön ggezeigt und den Wecker wieder in einem neuen Glanz erscheinen lassen. Ich habe einen ähnlichen, lasse den aber im Original. Ich bezweifle ob Ihr Wecker tatsächlich von 1940 ist - damals stand da noch nicht "Made in Germany" drauf, eher 60er Jahre ? Auch cool wie Sie das radioaktive Zeug von der Zeigerbeleuchtung entfernt haben.
    Greetings

    Do y'all buy these at antique stores, and then toss them out in the dirt for a month before "restoring" them? Every one of these types of videos I've seen it looks like someone purposefully dirtied up something so they could clean it and call it a restoration, lol.
