New Balance Fresh Foam X More v5 | The More Gets Even More Cushioning!
NB reps are by far the best speakers on their product. Everyone else repeats themselves and just runs in circles 😵💫
Connor's a SHOE SALESMAN. Let's get the Facts OUT. NB REPS well they're a different breed and have been trained in house with all the Science and Technology that supports the products they promote.
@@jt.8144 Connor is a runner that sells shoes. There’s a difference.
are they any good for heavy runners?
White Dave Chappelle knows his shit !
Glad that hollowed out heel is gone!
Okay the height is getting ridiculous. I'm sticking with 880v14
Stack height on this one is in the 30s mm, so it's not ridiculous at all. It's very much middle of the pack. The side walls are misleading.
They can go higher!
The year is 2034, max stack shoes make the average runner 9’5”
V4 had a better geometry. V5 looks clunky.
Had the V4 and the sidewalls gave me midfoot blisters, even though I got a 2E wide. Are the sidewalls in the V5 different to the V4?
Add an insole to raise your foot up-plenty of volume to do that. I have buniions and do it in all my running shoes.
sidewalls are the best thing about this shoe. makes it crazy stable along with the flared misole. Sounds like you got the wrong size. Could be too small or large, narrow or wide, I have no way to know, but either one can cause blisters.
I just picked up the more V4, it was on deep discount.., but damn, I just got it
It’s a great shoe, hope you enjoy it!
How deep we talking?
@@HenryPurcell-zc3ih 59.99, from Sierra,
I just picked up a pair a few weeks ago for $86
@@HenryPurcell-zc3ih 59.99 on Sierra
Can’t wait for the V5, I loved the V4!
“How high do you want your stack?”
“Yes.”
To the heavens
It's not even that high. Did you not listen? Ofc not. It looks high because it cups around the footbed. The stack on the More V4 is like 33 mm. A nimbus is more like 40. Tons of shoes have taller stack. It's actually a very clever design the way the midsole wraps around on this shoe, between that and the way it gets even wider at the bottom, it's extremely stable.
The toebox of the V4 was much worse then V3 and the upper was warmer and felt cheaper. I doubt this versions toebox is wider then the V4 which is unfortunate. Also hopefully no quality control issues with the dreaded dimple in the toexbox that some people had including myself on the V4. I do like the ride of the V4 a bit better then the V3 but man the toebox and upper were a major disappointment. Don't make toeboxes that squish my toes on a easy day shoe!
I wished the new V5 had less weight, because the V4 works nicely despite the 10.9 oz
New Balance should reinforce the durability of their shoes. The rubber under foot will crack after few runns. It is unacceptable to spend a lot of money for shoes that could only run a few miles.
have run in the v4 300 miles-sole is fine.
You def don’t know what your talking about 🤣🤡🤡
I got to try this on a few months back, it felt nice underfoot, better than the V4. Dunno about the weight though, that seems excessive
Bulk-Bulkier-Bulkiest 😂😂😂
I miss the lower stack NB shoes like the Vazee Pace and the Fresh Foam Zante series. Now they’re trying to make everyone over 6ft.
Bruh, the 1080 v12 was 28 mm stack in the heel. That's basically a racing flat these days. It's insane.
Gene Simmons called, he wants his running shoes back!😉
Has anyone confirmed the reported 4mm drop? It looks steeper than that…. I want a pair, but I need a low drop.
Just bought the v4 last week for USD60+. Will buy this in 2026 hehe
$60 where?
@@damiang27 the marathon shop here in Malaysia. For about a week the sale going. Now back to normal price
Near the same in Germany Last year (online seller: About You). 65 Euro/ 72 Dollars
Great shoes. 400k in and still fresh.
They made the sole harder in the V5? No thanks. I bought 2 pairs of V4 because of its very soft cushioning.
How is the stability on the V4?
@@pressrepeat2000very good!
@@pressrepeat2000 That might depend on who you are.. As the rep admitted, the very soft cushioning can be "squirrely" for some of us. The firmer v3 had excellent stability for me, but the softer gap heel on the v4 caused me problems (mainly achilles). Under me, v4 was very unfortunate soft-squish overkill. Admittedly, that's great for some people, but the rep is making the appropriate noises for my ears. No reason v4 lovers can't stock up now, while they are cheap.
Short kings rejoice
What's the heel height?
V4 was terrible, returned it after 2 runs. Not sure what the point of the “More” line is when you have the 1080 V13 which is considerably the best recovery easy run shoe on the market. Especially with the Balos coming out at the end of the year as the new max stack super trainer without a plate.
If I were a product developer id cut this line.
1080 isn't max enough and easy recovery enough for some ppls mate. simple
@@maracas23 that’s where other brands “max stack, easy day recovery shoes” are superior. Side walls on the more will blister anyone, it has no bounce you just sink in it, my point is its not a good shoe.
@@dextersuarez9948 what is a good 'max stack easy day recovery shoe' in your opinion then?! i think the more is great, no blisters and loads of cush. and i run in alot of different shoes. So you're wrong.
@@dextersuarez9948 now it is.....
this one looks WAYYY BETTER, I saw V4 at Winners for $100 CAD it was a steal but boy the look of this one just went off the charts. I think I might wait for this one.....
I got one for $90 usd. 90 vs $155. How much better could it be? I only get the latest models if they are really worth it. I will say the upper looks much higher quality in the new version, that was an issue with the v4, the upper felt very cheap for a $150 msrp shoe.
@@jeffhicks8428 For me, I realized my gears have to look and feel good for me to feel good while running. It's tough to get out there sometimes so whatever helps!
I don't like the big, max cushion running shoe. I prefer the NB ff beacon v3. But Like to Conor. Have a great day.
Don't go by the sidewalls to estimate the stack height. It's not big, it's only mid-30s mm. Plenty other shoes have between 40-50mm.
@@aliasgharkhoyee9501 .Hi. I know it. Have a good Sunday.
Is this the first discussion of this shoe out there? I don't recall this anywhere else yet.
It is reuploaded i think
Even though your talking about a different shoe, please pass this on to the New Balance reps. The 608 cross trainers 2017 and before were wonderful. I was a gym owner for 14 years. and wore them all the time. Also played racquetball and did wind sprints in them. SINCE 2017 the new Versions ( I bought some in 2023 after the last 8 pair wore out) are TERRIBLE with hard soles and thin inserts. My Plantar Faciitis that had been gone for 20 years came back in 3 days. I am now searching for new shoes. I would like to see New Balance go back to making them the way they did 2017 and before when made in Indonesia.
I feel like the NB team has so many inside jokes about the More.
I beg the opposite. Been using the V4 as my easy day shoe now, great for slow pace easy run. Can use the words "melts and disappears on foot" to describe. Did take about 50 miles to break in for me. I also have the SC trainer V1 for slightly faster long runs. The V5 look gigantic! Hopefully the new foam is more lively than the V4.
It's the high sidewalls, the actual stack height in this is middling for a max cushion shoe. It's mid-30s, nowhere close to 40-50mm that you see in a lot of other max cushion shoes.
I disagree. I have the v4 and it's a shoe that you always notice that you're wearing at all time. Not just because of the bulk but because of how bouncy and trampoline like it is. I never don't notice that I'm wearing. I have a Via Olympus 2 as well and that's a shoe you forget that you're wearing. Much less bulky than most maximal shoes and the midsole is just dialed in. It's just right, not too soft and mushy but not firm. Not dead but also not a trampoline. Literally don't even notice it.
Bonjour la hauteur de la semelle est de 44 mm au talon et 40 mm a l'avant pied ?
its its the 1080 foam then try again because its an epic fail
fresh foam beef cake v5 and I’m so here for it.
Confused, he said August 2024, but the video description says July 2024.
Likely available for pre order in July on that website but still won't get it until it releases in August. That's usually the case.
I think v4 outsole is better
That's the heels!
Just clocked 60kms on my V4s, and now I see this. 😪
Get this when you wear out the v4
BBL NB
BBL NB
WOOOO OOOOOOH OOOOOH
What's the main difference between the 1080V13 and these More v5s?
They mentioned it was the same midsole compund, so I’d assume the more v5 just has more stack height for more cushioning
NB BBL edition.
so its the same foam as the 1080x v13 or is it going to be harder foam???
every model and every version is always using different formula of the foam. Literally. None of them are exactly the same. They might all be called fresh foam x, but they're all different. Some of them vastly so. The foam in the 1080 v13 is nothing like the v12, and nothing at all like the More v4.
👀
these companies need to quit the gimmicks and changing everything every few months. find something that actually works and stick with it. it's not an iphone, it doesn't need updates and redesigns every week. make something actually good, iterate to make it better every year for a few years, then when there is actually a real major change that's worth doing, change things. Anyone else sick and tired of spending hours to find something that actually works for you only for that shoe to not even exist the next time you need one? Yeah. It gets old. Running shoes have been gimmicky and scammy from day 1. Nothing has changed.
From what some reviewers have said it’s actually quite a good shoe. There really isn’t a need to complain when there are sooo many options for every type of runner out there. Nobody’s forcing this down your throat. Just look at the difference between this and the pacer v2.
@@dogdogdoghorse I have the V4 and it is a really good shoe. Only two complaints. The upper is not on the level of other $150 shoes. feels cheap, but it works and the fit is excellent. Two, it's maybe the most bulky, clunky and boat like shoe I have ever seen. Aside from this the v4 was an excellent, very cushioned, very resilient and very stable shoe. It's a little bit more bouncy than I like, but that's fine. Looks like they fixed the upper on this new version, but I doubt this one is any less bulky. If I had to guess it got an even higher stack because every new model needs a higher stack in running world for some reason. They ruined the new 1080 though. The v12 was a near perfect shoe and the v13 is a mushy unstable mess
I've only ever worn a Fresh Foam shoe casually. Definitely picking these up for lifestyle use.
I understand people actually run in these, though I don't really understand why. I'm just a shorter guy looking for my comfortable gentleman's high heels to walk around in. But they keep firming up the foam for the people that actually run in them. As long as it's taller than the v4, i'm gunna buy it though. I paid full MSRP for Adidas Prime X on release because it was one of the tallest shoes on the market, and they hurt my ankle just to walk in, but I do it anyways, cuz in this world a couple of inches makes a world of difference.
@@justintung7981 In terms of max cushion running shoes, this is one of the lower stack height options (mid-30s mm), don't be misled by the sidewalls. As you mentioned, the Adidas Prime X is one of the many higher shoes with between 40 and 50mm stack heights.
same most of the new balance I wear are super trainers/racers, but I still wear them all casually!
@@justintung7981 Who keeps firming up the foam? The trend in the running shoe industry is foams are getting softer and softer. The 1080v13 was the most compliant midsole in any running shoe that's been made thus far. It's total mush. The More V4 was a not quite that soft, but also had a lot of resilience and bounce to it.
The Year of NB. Nothing but bangers this year. 🔥
I hope the build quality is better than the 1080 v13. Foam is too mushy too in 1080 v13. I'll wait for independent reviews rather than hype.
Yowana is that you
Had V4, sold it after 2 weeks. Felt like a brick to me.
All these companies are starting to make foam high heels, definitely look like clown shoes. I'm still waiting for the 100 millimeter max cushioned easy day shoes.
NB Team, please bring these shoes to Turkiye!
Done with NB, the new foam is not worth it. Only for slow runners. They have lost to Asics, Hoka and Saucony in recent years. Too bad it was top line a few years back.
That's a skyscraper, not a pairs of shoes anymore.
Cannot understand what people see in those bulky so called super cush shoes 🤔
It's like strapping inflatable pontoon to your feet, complete rubbish
well i like em. called recovery shoes for a reason.
The v4 is a flop!
Could not be more untrue. Of course it doesn’t work for some, but a majority of reviewers enjoyed the shoe.
@@kalvin. The midsole bottoms out quickly, 100/150km. And the stack height is 32,5mm at the heel( in case you didn't know) even the 1080 v13 has better foam, more Bounce and 38mm at the heel. A real flop indeed the more v4. Good for walking the dog.
@@LuisRamos-qw1gj sorry it didn’t work out for you! Sadly that’s not reflective of the majority of people’s experiences, but as they say, YMMV
@@kalvin. Well you are free to test it for yourself. I don't know what is the majority of people. Reviewers are not a good example...
@@LuisRamos-qw1gjI have really enjoyed the More V4.
