Hi All! I shot this a few weeks ago and I’m really happy to report the erythema is gone and my melasma is starting to clear up. I’ll share a nighttime routine really soon!
I tea so funny that you’re trying to clear melasma it looks like freckles which is something people are drawing on nowadays 😂 I think you look beautiful either way. Looking forward to the nighttime routine. Do you have a video over dry skin that’s acne prone?
I had no idea what had happened with your skincare line since I am not that into beauty community gossip but I want you to know that I have been trying your products and I love them and the big deal people made out of something that wasn't any of their business, is that I bought the products in the first place...glad I did!!
I have been using the Naturium tranexamic acid and the alpha Arbutin serum with my vitamin c in the morning and using an OTC hydraquinone at night before my tretinoin. They haven’t worked miracles because I think that’s an impossibility with hyperpigmentation especially hormone related pigmentation, but I do think all of it together is helping to somewhat fade the pigment and give my skin an overall more even look. Thank you for all the knowledge Susan! You are gorgeous inside and out ☺️
Your skin is just so beautiful! I’ve learned so much from you and Hyram, and I was able to get rid of a lot of my hyperpigmentation thanks to you. My skin is more even, and I’m now confident going out without foundation because it has a nice glow to it. The spots don’t bother me that much, and I enjoy that my skin is much healthier. Thank you Susan! 🤗
Would you be willing to show before and after photos of your melasma so we can see how much of a difference treatments and skincare routines have improved it?
Thank you, I’m a black men suffering so much Lately from dark spots and you have really been helping me with showing multiple products that help with this
i have hyperpigmentation AND acne and i definitely have a lengthy more intense routine like this because i truly have to! love this and the ingredients you use are super similar to the stuff i layer in the AM
Your eyebrows stay so nice and groomed thru this whole routine. They don’t even get washed out from the powder. Do you have a gel on them or any other product/treatment??
I cant even say your melasma is a problem bcz u still look so great ! The end result of the skincare is what we all aim to acheive! You are just amazing to watch ❤️thank god we have you😀🥰
I have no idea as I have not tried it for Melasma spelling? however I use my Ziip beauty device and there is a setting total clearing that has helped my skin pigmentation issues, I believe Melasma is also treated. I love my Ziip. I also (You probably know all this, Eucerin product (the European line) some people swear by. You're beautiful.
I've started using the azelaic acid emulsion in my morning routine and it's so nice! My morning routine is focused on brightening as well and I'm looking forward to seeing what results are adding this in!
I've seen some derms suggesting titanium dioxide isnt enough as it doesnt protect against long wave UVA, only short wave UVA. I would consider this when choosing sunscreens that use TD as the only filter.
That’s not weird to me at least, I got melasma from my first pregnancy and I honestly like it 😅 I think I got lucky though, mine just looks like freckles on the bridge of my nose
I recently started my skincare routine after seeing one of your post(by random) on facebook. I am so happy i started doing that! I have been noticing melasma on my skin and it has started to spread but I am noticing some big change after starting my routine. I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge for people like me who did not think skincare routine is crucial :) I would love to see your nighttime routine!
Thank you for the tip to pat powder around eyes after applying sunscreen when you don't wear makeup. This is a very helpful video about dealing with melasma Susan. Wish you can get rid of melasma soon. Lauren from Houston.
I’ve been on the tinted elta md sunscreen for hyperpigmentation for years but after seeing your skin, I’m running to Ulta tommorow for that spf. Wow your skin looked so glowy and the tint is slightly darker. Another great video! I’d love to see night routine also. Let’s get an updated makeup video with what you and Nikki use to cover hyperpigmentation .
Sorry, but you would probably be better off staying on the Elta Md with zinc oxide...this sunscreen featured only has titanium dioxide which isn’t a good UVA filter. It only covers UVA2 and not the longer UVA1, and is primarily a UVB filter.
So glad I watched this. I was thinking that my routine might be too much but, with the exception of the Cyspera and the powder, I’m using all of the same products (not necessarily the same brands) as you. I am also of Asian heritage with melasma so I’m feeling pretty proud of the routine I came up with after finding out it almost mimics a pro’s routine. Thanks for the confidence boost Susan 😃
I have melasma as well I’m a very light skin Hispanic. So you can use multiple treatments at once? I’m currently using in the morning vitamin C moisturizer and tinted spf. In the night I alternate 3 days a week I use tretinoin. The other days I use the ordinary buffet, cerave pm moisturizer then rose hip oil.. but I don’t really see a difference. 1 or 2 days I use either salicylic acid, glycolic or lactic acid.
@@chrisluisangel I started out with Buffet and TO vitamin c suspension + HA but I didn’t see any difference in my pigmentation after a month. So I added alpha arbutin and switched to ascorbyl tetraisopaamitate in vitamin F and niacinimide from TO since it’s easy to get that brand in Canada. Then added Cos De Baha azelaic and Face Theory Exaglow (super hard to find azelaic and tranexamic in Canada). Feel like I’m finally making progress on the melasma and haven’t experienced any irritation. Using TO natural moisturizing factors and Pipette mineral SPF 50 AM and Cetraben PM Biggest regret is that I started proper sunscreen use too late in life and all my stupid years are definitely showing on my face
@@taraimakire5408 I used TO alpha arbutin and inkey tranexamic acid and it did lighten some melasma on my cheeks. I finished them and didn’t buy them again instead bought TO azelaic acid i finished it and I just bought the cos de baha azelaic. I use different spfs elta md. And the Pipette spf that I love! I gotta try that TO moisturizing factors. Yup same here for me I realized I got melasma after having my 2 kids and using birth control. I stopped already about 6 yrs but it hasn’t gotten any better I think actually somewhat worse !
Uh oh, I’m not liking my skincare and that’s why I’m red? Actually, I get red as soon as I cleanse my face. I use Neutrogena brightening cleanser then use Tula toner and Musely for age spot and hyperpigmentation and melasma and then I use vit c and then a moisturizer, during the day, I will use a tinted botanical spf 50. Any suggestions on if I need to change anything? The process (of the routine and getting better skin) is sooooo long, I’m thinking I’m imagining it working 😂😂. I’d appreciate and guidance you can give. BTW, your videos are so real and you’re quirky, I like it!
Hi Susan! Can you ask the Naturium team to put together an updated layering guide/chart? You have all these awesome new actives now but I don't know how to use all the ones I want to try! (For example: How can I fit retinol, azelaic acid, BHA, and PHA/mandelic acid, into one routine?)
You can't use bha/aha, azelaic acid with retinol in one routine you can aha/bha in the form of a cleanser or use aha/bha or azelaic acid in the morning and retinol at night
Hi Susan can you do a video of what acids/serums you shouldn't layer? And when you layer products do you have a recommendation on what goes first and last?
With cosmelan treatments he skin must be prepped for about 10-14 days prior to the peel with treatments like kojic acid + tranexamic acid and even retinols, post treatment you should have been provided with a home cosmelan pack, which you use for for a few months which help prevent further hyperpigmentation.
I’ve been using a lot of the products you recommend for dry skin and they have done wonders! Love your videos... very informative. Nighttime routine please 😊
OMG do I love her brand NATURIUM. One of the best hands down. I have her face wash many of her serums and her retinol cream. Her brand has really help save my face from breakouts. My face is oily and acne prone. I’ve turned my sister in law on it and she loves it. Best thing now is it’s at target. Every body run to go get it.
I totally agree, I've been searching for product n try new product for years after years n it never work well for my face until I found her video n I binge watch all of them n decided to try all her product n I fell in love with all of them. My skin is super sensitive n dry n flakey but her product fix the problem. I love it n I recommend her product.
I just love you soooo much ! And I love your skincare line , I got all your amazing Products ! I have a huge passion for skincare & recently got into Microneedeling thanks to you , Mah Skincare Queen 👑 👸 !!!!!
Only covers against UVA2 not UVA1, so probably wouldn't be considered broad spectrum in Australia and EU with their stricter broad spectrum label laws.
Yes, LRP make some great sunscreens, but this one isn’t even available in Australia probably because it doesn’t meet the stricter broad spectrum regulations.
Please bring Naturium products to Walgreens also for easier access, especially melasma and hyperpigmentation products. Thanks for all that you do !! Hoping forward.
Titanium dioxide only filters uva type 2!! So all the long uva rays are still making their way into your skin. I know you live in the USA and you don’t have easy access to good sunscreens but if you truly want to get rid of malasma then a high uva protection European sunscreen with innovative filters is the way to go. Uva-pf of above 50 is what I go for.
We really need those new filters here in the US, the overseas shipping prices are more expensive than the product itself and honestly getting good uva protection shouldn’t be that expensive.
@@friedchicken892 my top favourite ones are P20 kids spf50+ (uva-pf of above 50) I’ve been using it for years, amazing protection that lasts for a very long time and all my family are using it, even nephews with sensitive skin. Evy technology kids spf50 (my go to everyday sunscreen, I wear this even if I don’t leave the house, feels very nice one the skin) La Roche posay uvmune spf50+ (has new first of its kind filter that protects against the longest uva rays and comes in two different formulas but can stain white/light clothes) this one is not cruelty free though These are my go to, pretty much the best you can get as far as my research goes. All of them use great filters that are not available on the us market. Titanium dioxide only sunscreen is probably the worst thing you can buy for pigmentation and anti ageing, especially if you know you’re going to be in direct sunlight, it’s giving false sense of protection. I always say if you’re getting a tan, you’re damaging your skin and your sunscreen in not protecting you well.
Thank you for sharing your melasma skin care routine. I too, suffer from it sadly. Watching this skin care routine helps tremendously, as it gives me an idea on which products I can try n apply to my face to deal w/melasma. I applaude u for sharing
Is the plant derived "bio-retinol" bakuchiol? I'm a big fan of bakuchiol. It doesn't make you photosensitive, but is very effective at combating hyperpigmentation.
Hi Susan. Thank you for sharing this. Looking forward to the night routine as well. What should I do differently if I have melasma, hyperpigmentation and am acne prone? Thanks!
I layer 4 of the Naturium serums in the same routine (alpha arbutin, tranexamic acid, vitamin c, & azelaic acid) and my skin has been loving it but I only do this 4 nights a week. The other nights are all about hydration and protection of the skin. In the morning I use the Naturium alpha arbutin essence and mix the Good Molecules vitamin c powder into it.
the naturium azelaic acid serum which wasn't mentioned is EVERYTHING!!! i love it i have seen huge results from it ! its better than prescription azelaic acid!
Susan, your skin is so beautiful & glowing !!! I left another comment/question prior to this one. I am dealing with similar issues of melasma/age spots/ sun damage and I am much older than you, so it’s the toll gravity has taken that bothers me even
Question: you mention that these products are ok to use together with the small percentage of niacinamide in them, versus your Naturium niacinamide 12% serum... Does this mean you should not use the niacinamide serum with Vit C or these other products? Thank you!
I also love LRP tinted mineral sunscreen and I’ve been using it for years. But recently a dermatologist on RUclips mentioned that it’s not as effective Bc the only active ingredient in the tinted version is Titanium Dioxide. Is this something you may have addressed in the past? For me too the tint is absolutely perfect and I’d hate to let it go.
Wow, you’ve thoroughly educated me. All my life I barely used sunscreen because I darken well, rarely ever burned if at all but since turning 30 a couple years ago I started seeing darkening over a couple scars above my lips. That’s become worse and this summer I’ve had blatantly obvious patches around my cheeks like yours only mine are much more obvious and dark. I have freckling that I’ve never had… I did buy and once a day use a moisturizer with spf 17… it’s the only moisturizer that I don’t break out with spf. All others dramatically make my already oily skin, much worse. Anyways, I really appreciate your knowledge and sharing what you use, I watched another video in which you mentioned your hyperpigmentation/Melasma and for the first time it hit me that this isn’t just aging. I think this summer has been so bad with my face, after researching more on Melasma because I have Lupus (sle) and a few of the meds I’m on warn to stay away from the sun plus lupus itself is anti sun loving as well. I’d love to see more videos and advise on Melasma bc my sister has it far worse than I do, her spots are really dark, her cheeks this summer flared up puffy where the sun hit her skin and reminded me of lupus butterfly rash but now I’m thinking Melasma sounds much more like it bc you mentioned having inflamed skin, but worse than me she’s allergic to about every skin care product she’s ever used. She literally flares up meaning her skin raises/lifts, has a long lasting and painful rash… I sent this video to her but I’m afraid she’ll continue to ignore her condition because she fears allergic reactions to all skin products. I’m just curious who else has Melasma, who else deals with super sensitive skin with spf or are allergic to most lotions and skin care products… is this typically found with Melasma. Can autoimmune diseases enhance it? I don’t know but I’m curious and now wishing I’d dealt with acne break outs over sun exposure smh
Please make a video with morning and night routines just with your products, and please be more clear how many times a week we can used each one. I just bought them. 🥰🥰🥰🌷👏🏻
Hi Susan!!! can you please create a skin care video for man something sample? My husband has sun damage but as most man doesn't like to wear anything on his face so I have slowly have him use at least sunscreen to help with his dark spot or at least help not keep damaging his skin but I really wish I know of a simple routine that I can show him not make him feel like is a hole process but simple. Thank you!
I love this routine but here's a question, is titanium dioxide alone enough to provide broad spectrum protection? Usually mineral sunscreens rely on zinc oxide for the uva protection. My dermatologist suggested me not use to this sunscreen from La Roche posay.
Hi Susan! You are beautiful and your skin is glowy and plump. Thank you for your clear and informative video. Like you, I have been dealing with melasma for 20+years…2 rounds of Obagi, 4 sessions of Fraxel, several chemical peels and now on Musely for the past few weeks. I will definitely try Naturium serums to supplement my Skinceuticals CE Ferulic in the morning and I will check out your nighttime routine as well. Thank you for emphasizing the use of daily sunscreen, I have 4 different ones in my medicine cabinet right now. I feel like we are soul sisters! I just subscribed to your channel so keep up with the videos. Love you!
My eyes are very sensitive and I always struggle finding a sunscreen that doesn't make my eyes water, etc. I'll definitely try using a powder to set the sunscreen. Hopefully it helps! Thanks for the tip, Susan!
Look into the Asian sunscreens...ive recently been turned onto a couple Japanese brands that have no stinging/greasy/shiny look & no white cast... skin aqua & biore UV...amazing! Dr. Dray explains they have superior filters.....
Thank you for posting your routine Susan! I use almost all the actives you use, apart from Cyspera, but I split them in AM and PM. I would be really interested in seeing your PM routine.
When I saw she used her naturium tranexamic topical acid, I was a bit taken back cause I’m currently using it and hers looked very saturated and yellow. Mine is literally almost clear. 🤔

Thank you for sharing your melasma skin care routine. I too, suffer from it sadly. Watching this skin care routine helps tremendously, as it gives me an idea on which products I can try n apply to my face to deal w/melasma. I applaude u for sharing
the powder trick with sunscreen is so helpful!
I would like to see your night time skincare routine please Susan. Thank you x
can you talk more about bakuchiol? I cannot get retinol products so I've been using bakuchiol, but is it just a waste of money?
My Naturium tranexamic acid isn’t the same color as Susan’s. ??? It’s more cloudy/white-ish. Does that mean anything?!?
Where could you fit in another antioxidant that's a thicker serum consistency? I have all the Naturium products but I have the Alpha Arbutin Essence.
What is the difference in the Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion and the Azelaic Acid Topical?
Just purchased your 3 serums mentioned (but got the multi-bright 5% T-acid) noticed after checking e🙄 Oh well. Looking forward to trying them out.
Thanks for the powder idea,! I’ve been wondering what was leaking in my eyes during the day.
Thanks!
Kate Somerville does not get enough credit! I love that brand so so much!
Have you tried other azelaic acids?
Susan, your skin is so beautiful & glowing !!! I left another comment/question prior to this one. I am dealing with similar issues of melasma/age spots/ sun damage and I am much older than you, so it’s the toll gravity has taken that bothers me even
You should do skin care routines for all types of skin. Each video should be a different skin care routine. Love this!! Thank you so much
Question: you mention that these products are ok to use together with the small percentage of niacinamide in them, versus your Naturium niacinamide 12% serum...
Your Tranexamic acid serum was the only thing that brigheted my skin. I loved it!
I was thinking about this too as TD doesn't protect against long wave UVA
If you wear makeup how do you reapply sunscreen every 2hrs?
When will your brand start retailing in the UK 🇬🇧?? 😩😩😩 I really want to try all of it out on my melanin rich skin
Woman, you are beautiful! You're a natural beauty with a beautiful complexion.
Setting your sunscreen! Yes! I needed this solution bc my eyes are SUPER sensitive. Thank you!!
It would be nice if u can develop the serum with all 3 actives. Thanks
Thanks, Susan! 😊 Would love to also learn more about your nighttime routine, please! 🤗
@@lisa408t thanks, I'll look into these!
Powder to set the spf thanks!!!! I also deal with eye redness👏🏼👏🏼
I think her melasma looks pretty actually!
Your still so beautiful! You make malasma look like a high end bronzer boo!
hmm.. interesting! The color of Susan's serum looks like the color of oxidized vitamin c serum. Really weird- I wonder which one is normal? 🤔
@@luigilove254 I’d like to know that as well 😅
Same with mine it’s almost clear not as yellow as hers
Your beautiful and your vibe is always feel good vibes to watch. Love and Light 💛💋✨🐎🐎
My Derm always says that melasma needs to be covered with tinted sunscreen bc it also needs protection against light :)
That's what I've heard
Come through with the night time routine Susan!!
Thankyou for the tip about the powder around the eyes❤
That is my go-to sunscreen! I love that its also water resistant
Hi!, when will Naturium ship worldwide? I can wait to try your products!
