i watched this video like 9 months ago, and to put it simple it lives in my head rent free. but anyways, i never wouldve thought that single crochet takes up the most yarn, but it makes sense. sure, if you were to do just one row the same length as lets say a double crochet it the double crochet would take more yarn. that being said though, if you were to do multiple rows and make them the same height the single crochet would take more yarn since its shorter so more rows would be necessary. let me tell you- when i figured that out i felt as if i had a giant eureka moment i felt so smart.

The waffle stitch is not as agonizing as the shell but still lengthy. Before I changed stitches, I purchased more yarn in order to have enough.

WOW! I would never have guessed that the single crochet used more yarn than all of those other stitches! I am blown away by these results! Interesting! Thanks Donna

This video helped me pick a stitch to use for my next project. Please do another video like this using other stitches. THANK YOU! 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😊

What a great experiment..I kind of figured it would be single crochets because it takes sooooo long to do if doing a big project, and it has less holes in the stitches😱 great video! ❤️

I’m actually shocked! But if you think about it for a second, it makes sense!!

Very interesting and informative. I, too, thought the C2C would use more yarn, and never thought the single crochet used so much. Another thing about the samples being shown all in one video, I've come to decide that I like the C2C, the Moss stitch, and the shell stitch. Not only are they pretty stitches, but they use less yarn than the single crochet. 😀 Time for me to start crocheting again. 😁

Truly interesting! Looks can be deceptive indeed. I always thought the double crochet stitches took more yarn. Thank you for this informative video.

Great idea you had testing which stitch takes the most yarn. I always wondered about that so you solved it for me. Thanks dearly.

Interesting. My money was on the waffle stitch. Wasn’t going to stop me using it if it had used the most, because the waffle is so squishy and delightful. ☺️
