    Good advice. I think you only need to do the ecu update on the cars with digital dash. Early 2009 and before don't need this as far as I know. Keep it up guys

      Thank you for your support, Ant! 😁 With pre-2009 models, do you need to reset the steering angle? How come you need to do the ECU update only on the models after 2009?
      I'm only asking these questions because, from my understanding (from my research and other people's experiences), replacing the battery could trigger a steering angle fault, or a suspension fault if the ECU didn't learn that there is a new battery. 😊

      @@lifeasusual I have just seen other people with earlier models saying that it isn't necessary. Have a feeling the digital dash changed the tech in the cars somehow. I'll have to look at the manual to clarify

    Good video. Thanks for doing this. I don't like the idea of doing the ECU. I have a 2012 fullsized supercharged ranger over. What I have found out about these vehicles is that they don't like sitting for periods of time which I some time do. They are made to be driven. The more I drive it the better it performs.🤑🤑

      Thank you very much for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 👍🏻 Yes, I couldn't agree more, it has a lot of electronics that are battery-sensitive, so the battery has to be in tip-top condition, and for the battery to be in tip-top condition, it has to be driven often. 😁

    Hello LAU, A very interesting video, I was surprised when you said that you would not be putting the bonnet into service position as getting the battery out is very difficult if you do not do that, as you found out! I notice that you do not appear to have the exploding + connection on your set up, that makes the job even more fiddly to do, I did not have to reset the computer when I changed my battery (L322 2006) but they change the system so often yours may be different, as for the battery replacement when you buy one of these, good advice, but one thing I found was that if you use the vehicle only once a week, the battery will be flat, so I use a battery maintenance charger at all times, this cycles the battery and is probably what I needed to do rather than change the battery. Good luck with your wonderful L322! A far better vehicle that the later RR! Chris B.

      Hi Chris, welcome to our channel! 😊 Thank you very much for watching our video, we are so glad you enjoyed it! Yes, you are right, I did learn in the hard way that I do need to put the bonnet in service mode, which I should've done from the beginning. Throughout time, I learned that the computers on the pre-facelift are slightly different than the face-lift, but they are more or less the same when it comes to functionality. After replacing the battery, from our experience, we had no more issues using the car once every week or even once every two weeks, as long as we have a good quality battery and we replace it once every 3-5 years. Thank you very much for your compliment on our L322 👍🏻 And we're so happy you got in touch with us! Let's keep in touch! Best regards, Fahed and Alex

      Good afternoon Stephen 😊 Thanks for the suggestion! 👍🏻 Great minds think alike, as we speak I am currently working on this specific video, but it will take time for it to be released, so just please bear with me as it takes time for videos to be filmed and edited 😁
      This video was supposed to be released last year but we had troubles with the camera work, so we are re-doing it 🎥 If you have any other video requests that you'd like to see, please let me know and I'll see when we can fit it into our filming schedule as we have a lot of content planned 😊

    simple job but big thanks for showing this job, and great advice, could you put the link where you purchase the battery ? thanks in advance ( i never knew about the AMG )

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback, Stephen 👍😊 We felt it was important to show this job because many people wish to work on their cars but may not know where to start. And some of the viewers may have less experience than others.
      Regarding the link, it is simply a Land Rover battery that can be purchased from the Land Rover dealership (service parts team). If you prefer to buy it online with a link, you can go to the Land Rover parts website, like I showed in one of the previous videos (here: ruclips.net/video/GsheuIZdViU/видео.html ).
      Follow the instructions for the website and then select the car model you have, so it can show you what battery is suitable for your car. 👍
      P.S. - A high number of quality new batteries are AMG batteries, as they perform better and last longer.

    That battery is very heavy especially where it resides and the angle you have to move it out and in. Bonnet in Service a must. I am the 2nd owner of my L322 MY 2005 and the previous owner had replaced the battery 3 months prior. The L322 sat for weeks at a time with no running. The week before I purchased it a new battery had to be fitted. I don't use it every day but there is a battery charger on it that drops down to trickle . On first crank the engine fires and the voltages are correct. Well worth using a clever charger to keep the system stable.
    Have lots of fun with your Range Rover. Regards, Bernard

      Hello Bernard, welcome to our channel! 😁
      We are happy to have someone here who had a similar experience. We highly recommend to all new classic Land Rover owners to replace their batteries as soon as they get them because we never know how the previous owner treated their battery. As we all know, the electronics on the Land Rovers are all dependent on a perfectly working battery. Since we replaced the battery, we have not had any issues with any electronics. Enjoy your Land Rover too, look after it, and it will look after you for many years to come. 😊

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  Год назад +2

      Yes, Stephen, I agree with you 👍 That's why in the previous videos, I mentioned 3-5 years, but really, I wanted to say every 2-3 years badly, but I didn't want to get criticised. Hence that's why batteries come with a 2-3 year warranty because the manufacturers know their product won't last longer than this.
