    Nice video. I’m sure you know this, but I thought I would mention it for other viewers. On these vehicles, you can open the hood/bonnet into an extended mode to make working in the back of the engine bay a bit easier. Good luck on your investigation here.

    pull your bonnet struts off by lifting the little spring clips with a flat blade screwdriver then just sharp pull they come off then you can put the bonnet in service mode more or less vertical you`ll see the brackets that hold it either side it makes it a lot easier to get the battery out & generally any work in the engine bay,

    Hi, Just watched your video, great information. Did you ever finally fix the issue and if so how?

    The fan and gearbox light stays on for 15 minutes after shutdown on my it but you have to be crafty as it comes back on as soon as you open the door. I left the window open, went and had a brew then went back to it and it had gone off, but on the BMW it's supposed to stay on for 15 minutes and should be the same on your L322 👍👍👍

      Unfortunately mine stays on infinitely, I saw a little trick of putting a piece of tissue paper over the fan vent, while its spinning the tissue stays put and as soon as its stops the tissue falls away, left the car for about 3 hours and it was still there! and the battery is still draining

      @@JDFAutos the only way you can trick the car into thinking it needs to go to sleep is to open the front doors and push the latches fully in to let the ECU think the car doors are shut. Then go have a cup of coffee for at least 15 minutes, then will the ecu's go to sleep. Only then can you do your battery drain testing accurately If however after 15-20 minutes ( mine's 16 minutes on the dot) and the little red light indicating park is still on then you are correct and something is keeping at least one control module awake. Then you need to investigate which one it is. If the HVAC system is still blowing then it will be the BCM.

      @@samrodian919 Yes i did exactly this, ive swapped out my BCM for a known good working unit so its got to be a short somewhere in the wiring

    Hey did you ever figure out the battery drainage issue?? Thanks!

    I found a 400 milliamp draw from our suspension ecu in a 2006 range rover sport HSE. Can I pull the fuse as a temporary measure? Does this circuit only need to be active when CHANGING suspension height, or is it always necessary?
    BTW, how do you guys do this inside the passenger glove box fuses? I am 6'3" and 190bs, I can barely sit in that sport, let alone get my hands in that space and hold the leads close enough together to get an accurate reading!

      Yeah I would pull the fuse mate, just make sure your set in standard ride height first, the system will just read inactive, it won't lower unless you have a leak somwhere

    Hi Thanks for the good Video. Im having the same battery issue 2007 4.2 Supercharged. Have changed the FSR, have cleaned out the temp sensor fan and i have 2 batteries in Parallel. The vehicle just doesn't seem to shut down. Looking forward to your conclusion. Thanks

      from my research cleaning out the fan wont resolve the issues if its a fault with the climate unit, usually bad circuitry that keeps it running, so you might need to change that, i have got a replacement BCM now so im gonna swap that out later and fingers crossed that will solve it! ill let you know

    it's easier to put bonnet in service position loads of room to get to battery then

    I'm stopping this at 8.55. I don't understand why you have not put the bonnet up into service mode. It makes life so much easier to get at the battery, in fact if you were not doing the extra clearing out the drain tubes you could have got the battery out without removing the plastic HVAC intake at all.

    • @JDFAutos
      @JDFAutos  2 года назад

      Ive not put the bonet in service mode for exactly the reason you have said, i was removing all the trim and drain tubes amyway and didnt need too, and regardless of the bonnet in service mode or not, to fit the size of battery i have in the car, you need to remove the middle vents as the battery is bigger than the hole itself, but yes i agree if you are just changing the battery then its easier in service mode

    • @JDFAutos

      Its larger than the one an auto parts store will recommend for the car, with more starting amps, but will still just fit in the tray
