This was a good one. Came right after I failed to look like Jesus at the end of my work night. I was not slow to anger and slow to speak. Pray for me please as I ask Jesus to live through me instead of living for myself. Thank you for the message Nate. As always, you seem to make things very clear for me.

I've been dealing with a person in my life recently that claims to be a Christian but only holds hate and anger in his heart. He suffers, gets angry, makes situations worse, and continues to suffer. And then lashes out at anyone trying to help him. He'll say that people sinning don't bother him because he knows they'll "burn in hell" and he'll laugh about it. He is the one that really convinced me of this verse. Someone who knows Jesus and God wouldn't be like this. I pray that God can heal his heart. But I am also grateful as he is a cautionary tale to show me I need to take my faith more seriously.

All he mentioned were scriptures and in context! We must take this seriously. This scripture says this and others say this. What is God's will? It's spelled clearly that on Romams 12: 2 it's found by conforming to Christ's likeness, being conformed to it. It's told to us that if we don't forgive others their sins against us we won't be forgiven, a response (i.e. work). Scripture tells us what pleases the Lord and what doesn't please him. Can we just avoid pleasing the Lord for the sake of theology?

There is real power to change hearts when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. It is part of prophecy that all will know God, love him, and obey him. If there is no desire to obey him, something is very wrong and their belief is shallow and vain on their lips, but their heart can be far still. I agree heavily with Mr. Nate Sala here. I’ve heard the normal commonplace point that never made sense to me in context. True, it’s not by our works we are saved, but it is through our works that we show if we truly belong to God. Back at that time, the Jewish leaders were split into 2 factions, and wanted the power that came from their Godly appointed positions. They were hypocrites. They preached love and peace and unity, yet sowed discord, hate, and mistrust. This verse should only seek to confirm that you fear (to a healthy amount) God’s power over your soul. Don’t be a hypocrite and stay far away from God, but lean in to Him and bear his good fruit in you.
Remember that by your works, you will be judged in front of the throne of God (not the place where we go to hell or heaven, but the chair or rewards or losses in heaven. This is in Romans 13 or 14 if I’m remembering correctly.) for your deeds to build the kingdom.
I’m a hypocrite myself. I have strayed from God recently, but I do speak the truth. Thankfully I know many of you know this, but just as a daily reminder to myself and y’all, check yourself for your Godly fruit and your hypocritical behaviors. Pray to God about it, and learn to be like him through his word.

Well said, but here is an observation concerning the statement, "...you will be judged in front of the throne of God (not the place where we go to hell or heaven, but the chair of rewards or losses in heaven.":
Paul informs {ref. 1} that all must appear for the judgement wherein each person is recompensed for his works.
Revelation 20, {ref. 2) informs that the martyrs gathered in the first resurrection, along with those (alive and remaining at Christ's return) who will have withstood the Beast, will be granted immunity to the second death. These will have been their works which unquestionably evidence their faith.
Revelation 20 {ref. 3} makes clear that it is this same event of judgement according to works that will determine whether each person receives the second death. _In the cases of those that will have been granted immunity to the second death_ , the consequence of this judgement will only extend to rewards or losses in "heaven" (within their condition of salvation, in the eternal state).
The rest of the dead, who will resurrect after the thousand years following Christ's return, will also have their faith tested against Satan's final attempt to gather them to attack Christ's camp of the saints; these being comprised not only of unbelievers but also Christians who will not have died through martyrdom.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
{1} 2 Corinthians 5:10 "For we must _all_ appear before the judgment seat_ of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, _according to that he hath done_ , whether it be good or bad."
{2} Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: [and I saw] † the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and [those] which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
† [there is actually no 2nd "and I saw" in the Greek of 20:4. Proposed retranslation: " _namely_ , the souls of them"]
      {3} Revelation 20 - The Final Judgment
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another _book was opened, which is the book of life_ : and _the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works_ . 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were _judged every man according to their works_ . 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. _This is the second death_ . 15 And _whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire_ .

    • @scottmcley5111

Were all hypocrites, and yes, even the ones who think they think they know the mind of God, and whose think they know exact criteria for judgment . You think that you can just say whatever and do whatever and it's all going to work out for you as long as you mouth some apologetic words on your deathbed.
Pick up your cross and follow him after selling your possessions to give to the poor.
I'm not seeing a lot of that, and narrow is the path.
So you roll the dice, when you could have done more, and see how it works out.

And It was like I was drunk.. this stuff didnt bother me because it made me feel like I had control, when the opposite was the case, it was devouring me.
I was pretty close to divorcing my wife for no good reason and I had my first sober thought in half a year that.. maybe I just need to ask God for help? So I did, one simple prayer and an honest attitude of repentance. And God helped me.. There was a lot of demonic creepy stuff going on inside me and around me through other people.. and all of it stopped abruptly when I asked for help.
Eliezer, God is Help.. If I ever have a son, I will name him that. And to those of you who think Christians can't fall spiritually read Daniel 11 closely.

I’m not sure if this is what Nate is saying, but there are two workers. Workers of Gods will. And workers of lawlessness. You can do things in Gods name but be those that practice sin. Or live in sin. Many have done “actions” in Gods name but were like vipers in the temple. How you act on the outside does not mean your heart is in line. Make sure what you do in the dark when no one is looking, is who you are in public.

He says he loves God and serves God but he lies, he allows gossip in the church, and practice tolerance of sins instead of correcting them within the congregation. His actions don't align the word of God. He is a false prophet. A pharasee. A man of God who works in lawlessness and a ravenous wolf in sheep's clothing. But that is not what Paul was discussing in Ephesians 2:8, 9.
Paul was not suggesting work is not necessary for salvation since our faith is proven/demonstrated by our works.
Paul was emphasizing as he did in other letters written to Christians in the first century that they did not have to perform works of LAW in order to be saved. Works of LAW.
Not Christian works but works of LAW.
Paul identifies and emphasizes the worthless value of works of LAW:
      Romans 3:20, 28
      Galatians 2:16
      Galatians 3:2, 5, 10
Jesus stated those who believe in me WILL do the works I do. Will do! Not will think about or not will contest. Will do. That serves as an indication of genuine belief.

Context, context, context. This passage is obviously continuing the discussion of false prophets and teachers. We should not be misled by their works, their sincerity or their beligerant confidence, which is evident in their self-agrandizement before the Righteous Judge Himself.
This passage cautions us to consider and look for fruit of the Spirit; not labels and false demonstrations of "gifts".
Who is magnified by these types? They draw attention to themselves and not Christ. Notice they did not say that, "You worked these miracles through us"; they claim instead "they" did these miracles in His name. There is no humility in these people. They are about self-promotion. It would appear the great admonition to Christians here is that we look for fruit rarher than gifts of the Spirit so that we are not deceived by the counterfeits.

However, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I’d rather fear Him who can throw my body and soul into hell, than trust the world, the flesh and the devil who try to slave me and convince me that freedom is already mine to keep sinning as if my sins have been forgiven, therefore I can sin and repent over and over. True change has been difficult for me at times. For I think I know the Lord, yet I keep sinning and I despair in the idea that I have not known Jesus. So I say to myself how can I claim to love Jesus, yet fail over and over to follow his commandments. May the Lord have mercy on me. May he grant me freedom from myself and my sinful nature. Romans 7:14-25:
14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Even Paul sinned and failed constantly, but God knows this and chose him anyway just like he chose you. We are called to follow Him even though we do so very imperfectly and as we draw nearer to Him bit by bit as he sanctifies us, ask Him for the things that are good like wisdom and courage and strength to do good things and He will help and guide us because He gives us the strength to do the good things our flesh does not desire and to fight the bad things our flesh does desire. Remember God wants us to hate sin, but He wants us to trust in Him that no matter how much we sin He will forgive us and be with us because we are His children. There is no sin that was too big for Jesus to cover!

I wrote this as part of a presentation related to Galatians 3 and wanted to share it with y'all: "However, there’s another concept to integrate: what happens when we are saved by Jesus, which is the concept of the new man. This means that once we are saved by Jesus, we should see a transformation in our lives (Ephesians 4:17-24). If we truly love God and truly want to follow Him, He will work to put new desires in our hearts and, through the process of sanctification, help us sin less, though we will never completely stop sinning (Ezekiel 36:26, Philippians 1:6). To thoroughly understand this concept, consider James 2:17, which states that faith without works is dead: "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead"(James 2:17-24). But what do these works look like? Jesus commands us to judge prophets by the fruits of their trees (Matthew 7:16-20). Therefore, we should judge our own lives and our walk with Jesus by whether we are bearing fruit. These fruits are beautifully summed up in Galatians 5:22-23 as the fruits of the Spirit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." To tie this all together, we are not saved through our works, but God does not leave us where we are once we are saved. We continue to grow in a deeper relationship with Him, which transforms us into new people with new desires, leading to the production of good works that can be judged by the fruits of the Spirit."

It clearly says only those who do the will of the Father, and Jesus clearly says that the will of the Father is that whoever beholds the Son and believes in him will have eternal life and I Myself will raise him up on the last day. I can also give you multiple verses that say works do not save us.
Let me ask you this, how is one saved? Are you saved in an instant you accept Christ, or over a process? If in an instant, then explain to me how something that happens in an instant is compatible with something that happens over a period of time.
If you say it is a process, then how do I know I am saved? How do you know you are saved? How many works does it take? How close to perfect does one have to be? Where is the line drawn? @@DeanStrydom-v4p In the verse where he divides the two groups based on their works, he says nothing about what you are saying. That's what I'm saying is when I say it doesn't say that in that passage, and that it's explicitly talking about works in that passage. Which it is. Not just one work, but rather multiple works. It's impossible to get around that if you read it.
Then you went on to ask me if one is saved in an instant or is one saved as a process. I would say it's both. I think based on your comments that you believe in once saved always saved. I don't believe that. Which means that, you can turn to God and be set aside as a person to save, as long as you persist till the end (just like it says in Revelation and just like Paul talks about), but later on you could make a free-will choice to turn away permanently. I believe in free will. I do not believe in the doctrine of predestination. God has made it abundantly clear both in terms of how he deals with angelic beings and how he deals with us that he allows complete free will.
Now the way that once saved always saved adherents work with those verses that say a person can walk away permanently or even be assigned a place with the hypocrites and written out, is the adherents to this theory will say "Well, then they were never saved to begin with". I've always found that to be an incredibly lousy and irrational argument. But as we see even in the book of Revelation, those who persevere even unto death, they are the ones who are saved. So that describes a process. That process has a beginning, no doubt, but it's a process. The Man on the cross did not have a life to live after that so therefore his process began, persisted through, and ended on the cross.
If it's once saved always saved then there's no reason to persist or be on guard, working out your faith. And just like you, I can also quote dozens of verses to support my argument.
I think you're missing a big point here which is that you and I are on the same page with regard to it taking one initial work, which is to believe upon the Son of God. But if you have a life to live after that, to then go on and not practice his words, or rather put into practice his words into your life would mean that your current faith has become null and void. Or as James puts it, your faith is dead. That means faith can die. That means faith can have a beginning, and you can later end it.
If you "get saved" and then 30 years later I walk up to you and ask you to prove your faith to me, how would you do this without showing me your works or letting me examine your works? Would you simply tell me how strongly you believe in your head? Would you shake your fists passionately and say at the top of your lungs "I believed thirty years ago on a sunny morning in New York!". I wouldn't care about that. Plenty of people say things like that and then if you look at their current works/current fruits/current attributes, and they lack compassion for others, forgiveness, humbleness, and all the other practices we are to practice, well then I wouldn't say this person is a follower of Jesus nor has living faith.
This by the way is the more important metric, as far too many Christians are going around asking if someone *was* "saved", when what they should be asking is, is this person "following Jesus", or another way to ask that is, is this person a student of Jesus? It's not about some moment 30 years ago. It's about are you practicing now?

Have you seen the exceedingly sin-fullness of sin?
Jesus said “ whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:28
The bible says in 1 John 3:15 “ Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
Every lie is a abomination before the Lord.
If we are judged by those Ten Commandments (we have looked at three) we will be found as lying, murderous adulterers at heart and of God gave us justice, we would be thrown into hell.
You committed the crime. Jesus Christ paid the fine for all that repent and believe in Him.
Jesus is God the son, He wrapped Himself in human flesh, lived a sinless life that we could not, died on a cross as a payment for sins, and rose again three days later.
If you repent and trust in Jesus, you will be saved.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!

      Romans 3:23-25 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

@@bloodban716 living waters is a wolf in sheep's clothing preaching a false gospel of obeying the law along with believing to be saved. You cannot mix these two. If works are added to faith, salvation is no longer a free gift.
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Living waters like a lot of people add their own theological definition to the word repent to mean "turn from sins," though it isnt close to actually meaning that. I mean, God repented multiple times throughout the Bible, though the newer ones like to replace the word with something else. When repent is said in the New Testament, it comes from a Greek word that at its core means a change of mind. meta- means to alter or change, and noia means mind. Change your mind from your trusting of works to faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Matthew 7:22 is not at all a scary verse for born-again Christians. If you've put your faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior, there's nothing to worry about, because you're a child of God (e.g. Gal.3:26; John 1:12; etc.), by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone. When you put your faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior then you have received eternal life (yes, eternal life is eternal) ... e.g. John 3:36a, 3:16b, 6:47; 1 John 5:13a, etc.) plus lots of other benefits (in fact 95 things take place at the moment of salvation, with 68 positional facts which can never be changed as these depend on God, and 27 experiential things that may have ups and downs in our daily experience as we grow in Christ).
Never look at yourself, but instead look unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith (Heb. 12:2a) as that's the only way to live a victorious Christian life because that's the life of faith (Heb. 11:6; Rom. 14:23c) He wants us to live. God looks upon the heart but people always look at the outward appearance (1 Sam. 16:7) i.e. fruit, works, behavior, gifts and talents, etc.
And if we fail and are even faithless we have this promise, "If we are faithless, He remains faithful true to His word and His righteous character, for He cannot deny Himself" (1 Tim. 2:13) and 1 John 1:9 to rebound (restore our fellowship with HIm) in a second. Your relationship with God (getting saved) is unchangeable as you're a child of God having received the indwelling Holy Spirit and eternal life and it has nothing to do with fruit, works, gifts, talents, behavior or behavior modification, etc., but it is solely based on faith in Christ as personal Savior alone once a person trust in Him as Savior (John 6:29) and nobody/nothing can snatch us out of His hand (John 10:28). Remember, salvation is totally a work of God (Ps. 3:8a; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5, etc.). The only criteria for salvation (a relationship with God) is faith in Christ as personal Savior, and that's genuine faith. If you'd point to works, fruit, behavior modification, gifts and talents as your salvation criteria like the false prophets did in Matthew 7, you're not on the narrow road of Jesus Christ (the only door/gate/access into eternal life), but you're lost pointing to anything but Christ for your salvation. That's the beauty of the Gospel of genuine faith, by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone. It's also the reality of Heb. 11:1, totally relying by faith alone on Christ alone, which is a "work" of grace.
And yes, discipleship (fellowship with God) which every new born-again Christian is invited to by God to participate in, has certain characteristics of fruit (Gal. 5:22-23), works (e.g. Eph. 2:10, etc.), spiritual growth of getting to know Him (2 Peter 3:18), etc., but discipleship is not a salvation criteria even though it's ideal and God's desire for every Christian to engage in this fellowship with Him after being in relationship with Him. There are many benefits to fellowship with God (discipleship) like e.g. the abundant life (John 10:10b), etc.
Much more could be discussed on this topic, and it's exciting to get a grasp of the Gospel truth, the Gospel of Grace as it is life giving. It sets the Christian free (John 8:32, 36) and you'll fall in love with Jesus, ... He already calls you a friend of His, now live in fellowship with Him by getting to know Him, ... He's standing at the door and wants to have dinner (fellowship) with you (Rev. 3:20) so you can get to know Him. Remember, 1 John 4:18a (AMPC), "There is no fear in love, dread does not exist, but full-grown complete, perfect love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment."

These are people who act as if there is no Law from God. I Corinthians 13 outlines many great works that people may accomplish, but they are worthless without love for God and His people. It all comes down to the True Nature of the one doing the works, as to whose works they really are (God’s or satan’s works). And that Nature comes down to relationship. The difference in the fruit is a matter of the Nature of the tree (us). A Diseased nature always produces diseased fruit. A Godly Nature always always always produces godly fruit. The nature is what Jesus gives us. The New Nature is what Transforms us. This is why Jesus said We Must Be BORN AGAIN, (With His Godly Nature). Then the works we do are His Fruit of the Spirit He is producing in & through us. Old things must pass away (die), all things must become new. Gal 2:20 Paul said, I am crucified with Christ (dead to sin & the old sinful nature), nevertheless I live, Yet not I but Christ lives in me (with the new sinless nature of Christ). So the life I now live in the flesh, I live by The Faith Of (The Faith Of says Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, Heb 12:2) the Son of God…

@@RealTr0y No, what it's doing is calling into question this ridiculous bias modern Christendom has taken to where they hold in holy esteem private letters that Paul wrote to churches that he personally was leading and defer to his writings when there's ever a question about something instead of deferring to Jesus and James and the 12 apostles. My issue is with the bias.
If there's ever a question about something between what Paul has said and what James has said, James is correct. And if there's ever a question between what James has said or what Paul has said and what Jesus has said, Jesus is correct and overrules both of them.
It is impossible to justify faith alone with anything other than relying on Paul's writings. Jesus says faith + works. James says faith + works. Paul says faith alone. Therefore Paul is wrong on this one as he has been overruled. And his entire argument on that point was refuted by James 2,000 years ago, head of the Jerusalem Church who Paul was subject to, and there's simply no getting around that.
It's faith + works. That is the way it works. That is the way it has always worked. And that is the way it will always work. It's irrefutable. And when it was brought up 2,000 years ago it was directly confronted and refuted by James and recorded for us to learn from. It's impossible to work around this as it's right there clear in the text.

"...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." is the greatest commandment, according to Jesus.
Does the Father say that following Jesus is his will for us? Yes. Therefore it stands that the commandment that Jesus SAID is the most important actually IS the most important.
    Are works important? Of course!
But works WITHOUT holding Jesus first in your heart and mind and soul are hollow, and therefore worthless.

We have to do Gods Will - by this we need to be silent and fully surrender ALL our desires for life. And wait out for what God starts to bring in. Most people are just doing what they want. They don’t get it. Giving up your whole life for Gods Will is where it’s at.

  • @teravega
    @teravega 4 месяца назад +1

I think you're missing the point here. Jesus is pointing that those who call themselves believes, will be judged for what is in their hearts. God weighs the heart. It's not about what you say or what you do, God looks at what's in the heart and if it was in obedience. So it doesn't matter if they were church leaders or not, in the end they all were trying to earn salvation but trying to prove to those around them by their works. They were earning their status, achieving greatness on their own, or saw glory in their influence. These are all idols.
    We even see this in the OT where Saul made a sacrifice in disobedience. Samuel rebuked him because he disobeyed God and even says;
"Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams." - I Samuel 15:22
The real question Christians should be asking when they read this is do you know Jesus? The father's will is whoever looks to the son and believes. And the beatitudes previously reflects that. Recognizing being poor in spirit, mournful, meekness, thirst for righteousness, merciful, etc. This is deeper than works, it's a change of heart by looking to Christ and being transformed. It's not about reforming yourself to please God, it's about recognizing your dependance for God or as Jesus puts it, that unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of God. It's about humility. Humble yourselves before Christ, gaze on his beauty and let that transform you by witnessing his beauty, his mercies he has for you, the finished work of the cross, and you will seek him.

John 6:40-And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
The one who believes in Christ are known by God and enter heaven. The only reason you believe is because God chose you to do that. The only reason we can believe is because God reveals himself to the individual. Read Isaiah 43 if you think I’m making this up. Read all the times Paul says we were chosen. Read when Jesus says “you did not choose me but I have chose you.”
This is why in 1 John it states we know we have eternal life right now because we believe in the Son of God.
Those people on Matthew 7 are appealing to their works and not faith in Christ.
“For without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God”.

Hey man, I agree with 99% of what you said. However, I think you made one mistake at the beginning of the video. You assume that "The will of my Father" refers to works. That does not appear to be explicitly clear within the passage itself- but Jesus does in fact tell us exactly what the will of the Father is later. John 6:40 says that "This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day."
So I don't think that the will of the Father is good works (though that is certainly part of it), but rather belief in him.
Love to hear your thoughts on this. Others have said that the John passage is irrelevant because it isn't in the direct context of the passage, but I think if Jesus said it, it probably applies.

    8But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
To say that you have to follow the law instead of using it lawfully (which is to show that all are guilty under it) as evidence of your salvation makes you foolish like the Galatians. That’s what all of Galatians is about; looking to the law to do better or clean up their life.
The law is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
As posted the law was not made for the righteous but the unbelievers. Justification by faith is before God. Justification by works is before mankind. Titus shows that good works is for profitability towards men not God.

It's astounding how they can even quote the part where He says " depart from me, you workers of lawlessness", and still come to the conclusion that we don't need to keep the law, but have "a relationship" with Him.
He wasn't even saying we don't need to cast out demons and preach and do wonderful works, He was saying we must do ALL of God's will, including keeping the commandments, otherwise we don't have a relationship with Him.
In another place, the reason He gives for rejecting people is " I was naked, and you did not clothe me, I was hungry, and you did not feed me... "
And John says " he that says ' I know Him, but does not keep the commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him".

If I’m understanding this a little better this is more about leaders forgetting to love the people they’re guiding? Is this trying to teach us that leaders are doing acts because it makes them feel important to people and not because they love the sheep they shepherd?

The key is well of the Father . Obedience is what Yahshau wants. Look to the Torah to no what He loves and what He hates. Fear of the Lord is the beginning, and work is showing love for Yahshau. It's a natural outcome.

When I read these verses I am challenged to always check my motives....is my heart pure in my choices, actions, words. Am I glorifyig God ? What I really desire is to be willing to inwardly examine myself and ask God to show me to me , no matter how painful, because only God truly knows my heart....what I am blind to about myself. I thank my loving, kind Father God, that He does not crush me with this insight. He humbles me, grows me and lovingly shows me what I have not truly yielded to Him to His will and His way. Thank you Jesus for saving me, for loving me, and never forsaking me.
