- On this video I do the burn in, first cook and quick review of my new Pit Boss Copperhead Vertical Smoker. I couldn't wait to jump right in to cooking on this smoker, but I need to get it burned in and ready for it's first cook. I wanted to cook something a bit challenging, so I chose a pork loin. Pork loins are easy to dry out and hard to get right. But this Pit Boss did not let me down, the loin came out juicy and perfect!

I have this same unit on the way and the only thing i am missing to see is when you do the burn off do you also have water in the pan for that period of time?
When I first seen Pit Boss I thought they were a fly by night brand, boy was I wrong. They have really come out with some really cool cookers. Sounds like you have some really good things planned for it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi cj i am new to a smoker after the burn off is done am i meant to let it cool down before wiping it out thanks
I don’t remember wiping it out after the burn in. After I do a burn in on any of my pits, I just start cooking on them.

I'll give You a quick tip for The Tall Guys..........Put that thing up high on something! A cart,...a pedestal,....a pile of cinder block!.......Do Something!!!!
