there's a problem with my tv um whenever i try to connect it my tv just goes black for a minute and then goes back on the home screen did i do it wrong or is my tv just horrible
This is for the firetv STICK. The actual FireTv does not have the mirroring option when you hold the home button, there is a complete different screen when you hold it altogether.
On Fire TV: Settings > DIsplay Mirroring THEN on PC Right Click over the windows notifications > Open Action Center > Connect > Select TV The order is important. Tv first, then computer
The only problem is, and if somebody has the same issue, is that I already have two monitors and when I want to cast as a third one or mirror one lc the screens,it kicks me out. I have to disconnect one of the monitors in order to be able to mirror cast to the Amazon TV. Does anybody have this issue? Thanks
You have to have wireless capability on you PC in order for it to work...really lame, I know. You either need a wireless NIC card or a wireless USB adapter.

What DOES work for me, is using AS Airscreen app installed on the firestick, and using google chrome's cast feature to cast to it... however, after awhile, they want money. I also checked to make sure my computer supports miracast, and it does. It's also on the same internet connection and same router, and my PC is wired, while the TV I have tried on both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz and neither have worked for this. No clue why this method will not work.

Thank you so much. I was having trouble. Your suggestion of checking witch network I was on solved my problem. My laptop was on the 2.5GHz and my fire stick was on the 5Ghz. I just had to match those up.
Hi, thanks for the video. Do you happen to know anything about how to fix the streaming and stuttering issue, when mirroring Windows 10 laptop to the firestick. As soon as my laptop connects to firestick it just disconnects from wifi. Then even if my laptop somehow connects back to wifi, the video it streams starts to lag and stutter on firestick, whereas the streaming on laptop just works perfect.
I can get as far as you get up to the point where you see your device on the right side and your ready to select the device you want your PC to mirror to your firestick. I turn on mirroring on my firestick. It shows up on my PC. I select it and it tries to connect. In a few seconds it states it could not connect and my mirroring setup on my firetiv drops out. This works 100% on my Roku. Just can't connect to my Firestick. I tried an older FireTV 2nd Gen and a new Firestick 4K MAX. No luck with the Firestick or FireTV. Any tips on what to try would be appreciated. Both devices are about 4 feet away from my Laptop running Windows 10. Both Firestick and FireTV are up to date with updates.
@@juliacabanas99 I've since upgraded to the Firestick 4K. I can mirror my laptop PC to the Firestick but only after I deactivate my VPN. Haven't found a way thru even though both are on the same network.
It would be nice if your computer screen would show exactly what normal computer screens would be not your screen which is customized to your personal desires. Cuz you lost me
is anyone else having a bar appear at top of screen that won't go away? also limits some functions of computer whilst screen mirror mode is on....god damn windows sucks
Amazon at the moment doesn't offer Steam. My AppleTV on the other hand does, but through my Steam app on my AppleTV and my laptop, I'm apple to mirror my laptop screen onto my TV. Obviously Steam does that so you can play your Steam games on your TV. Either that or just use an HDMI connecter.
Dude, about 2:25 you talk about the 'tv bubble' icon at the top of the screen. My computer has no such icon. Super frustrating that you have ethernet, which no one has, and icons that i don't have at all. I thought mirroring would be easy but it's a fucking cockwaffle.
Whether you have ethernet or wifi connection is inconsequential. What matters is you're hooked into the same internet router as your fire tv. If you have Windows 10 you'll have a "speech bubble" notifications area in the corner of your task bar.
I tried this with Ethernet to amazon Fire. I can't mirror my Pc. I thought it would do the same thing. No the home button does nothing. Any idea? I turned on Wifi trying to reduce Emf's . cat 5 better

@@rocketits5518 yes, I have the FireTv. It doesn't allow it from what I was told. Only the fire stick does. The menu for the FireTv is different than the fire stick. I purchased a long HDMI and it works fine.

I have a few 4K FireSticks and I’m connected to the same network as my PC, but my computer never finds them. I have no issues casting RUclips videos from either my phone or PC. But when I turn on mirroring on the Firestick and try to connect with my PC….. nothing.

I keep seeing "couldn't connect" error after about 20 seconds when I select my fire stick TV in the list.. And display mirroring also exits on the TV

I think there was an update recently that disallowed you to mirror windows to firestick. I can't connect... it sees my laptop but won't connect to it.
I was just trying to connect with my PC and it's not letting me :( I'm so update Zoom University would've been so much easier

yeah miracasting only activates when you it shows the miracast screen

Only the FIRETV 4K has the mirror option. The 4K has amazon OS 6 while others have only version 5.

fyi if they are both connected via lan cable from your router, make sure your fire tv wifi is turned on so your pc can connect.
