This is very true. My and my sister have motion sickness from my dad, and when my mom went to tell the doctor when we were younger, this is what she said. She also told us that riding in lower cars such as Hondas can be a little trippy for your brain. So it’s best to ride in a vehicle that is not so low to the ground, such as a mini van. It also helps, if you feel a little nauseous, to look outside the window when the vehicle is moving. That way your eyes see that you’re moving, and they won’t give mixed signals to your brain☺️🫶🏻

if you look down on your phone for example while on a moving car, you're more likely to feel nauseous. So yeah looking forward and watching stuff completely removes the nausea for me. On boats though, that does not work. No matter what I do, I always get sick lol.

It's the passengers who feel sick because their brain is not instantly prompting when the vehicle gains speed or slows down or swerves, unlike the driver himself who is fully aware and in control of the vehicles movement, speed, etc. This mismatch between their (passenger's) body motion and brain balance is what causes the sickness in the passengers. To avoid motion sickness, the passenger must always look far straight ahead on the road, which simulates driving the vehicle. Passengers must also avoid looking at mobile phones, laptops, etc. while in a long ride, since this is the surest and fastest way to feel dizzy.
I once played on my phone the whole ride (20 mins) and i somehow didnt get nauseus i think bcs my brain didnt know that i am in a car and just focused on the game so thats one way to help it BUT you need to be able to concentrate to it so most times it wont work to YT or tiktok or watching videos

More info on this effect: it happens when the car have freaquant slowing and speeding and it especially intensify when looking down (usually on phone) from personal experience, best way to stop this feeling is to look far from the window, it will go away in a momment

If you suffer from this, check out anti-motion sickness glasses. The ones we have have two rings like regular glasses and two on either side. The rings are filles halfway with a blue fluid, which creates and artificial horizon. This makes the brain accept that you are sitting still. Works wonders for our small daughter.
