I had to go upstairs to let her in. Ambulance came after. It wasnt a heart attack but a sudden drop of bp n glucose. But i said my goodbyes to the world. I remained calm. I thought i was sick, like having the flu and vomiting. Headache and fullness even tho I was vomiting. Something told me to go to ER...it was 4 in the morning...no chest pain or arm pain, alert, walking and talking. By the time I got to ER, my jaw and teeth hurt so bad.
I was walked into ER exam room while 6 nurses stood at the nurses station gabbing (slow night in the ER). After 15 minutes i got up and went to nurses station and asked to been seen...
Immediately diagnosed as having a heart attack and was in surgery 20 minutes later! Was in ICU for 4 days.
Had 1 blood clot at 100% blockage RAD, 95% blockage at LAD (widow maker). Always active but diabetic.
If something does not feel right DONT WAIT. I didnt have classic symptoms but taking action saved my life.❤ Doc says early action prevented muscle loss. Said I could climb Mt. Everest if I wanted...my comment...why would I want to do THAT? 😂

Took 22 minutes to get my heart started again . Fortunately doc was standing right next to me when I coded.
All I remember is I didn't feel right, and needed to go to ER. Trust your gut

In case you don't have Aspirin at hand, taking Cayenne Pepper with a little water may also help prevent a heart attack by promoting blood flow effectively through the circulatory system. It has a mild blood-thinning action

Coughing effectively executes a Valsalva maneuver, which in turn aborts some arrhythmias.
Both the Valsalva maneuver and coughing can be effective for some types of arrhythmias, especially those that originate above the ventricles (like atrial fibrillation or SVT). However, they are usually not effective for more dangerous arrhythmias originating in the ventricles.

An important item I heard which didn’t even occur to me but makes perfect sense is when calling 911, go unlock your front door or apartment door to allow easy access for first responders. I would add, if you can, put any dogs or cats in a closed room. They won’t interfere with the help that arrives nor are they at risk for running out the door as help is coming and going.

My 61 year old cousin passed away alone in her home from heart failure. She wouldn’t answer her phone or door, so after day 3 they got the building manager to open the door to her apartment, where she was found dead lying on her bed with her dog sitting steadfast by her side not budging.
Fore a couple of weeks prior and up to that point, she had been visiting and staying with family on a number of occasions. All the while she complained of significant back pain and general unwellness . She’d gone to see her GP, who did not investigate her issues as a possible heart issue and, thus, failed to pick up what was happening. Nor did my cousin ever consider going to the ER at her local hospital, which could have saved her life.

I'm 62 and I listen to this doctor. My mom died last year of a 'sudden coronary event' then my cousin (63) dropped dead in the middle of a phone call. I had a doctor check my heart pronto. My mom starved herself and my cousin smoked like a house afire. I didn't take a chance, I had tests done. I was 209 lbs, I've got down to 163 lbs and a goal weight of 145. I'm not retiring as a broken down old hag.

@yeesh9215 I'm sorry this took a while. I see an endocrinologist. Walking, walking, walking! Try some intermittent fasting too. Eat as much organic as you can, processed food and sugar is the devil and so evil! American food is poison. I jest, but not really. Fat is not an enemy unless you combine it with sugar. Food tracking apps help, it makes you realize how much you consume. I've watched more RUclips videos than I can count; learn about the subject until you're an expert. Do you get enough vitamins and minerals? Magnesium has changed my life, I feel like a new person. Find out if you're missing these and take them, it makes a difference. ACV, Iodine, a multivitamin all organic, not synthetic. All this takes a long time to learn. Good luck.

An emergency acupressure point to prevent a heart attack if you don’t have access to aspirin is to pinch and hold the tip of your left pinky since it is tied to the heart meridian. I learned that from the video by Sri Sri Wellbeing called “Tips to Avoid Heart Attack | Emergency Point for Heart Attack”. It’s a good acupressure point to know to be proactive so you can get the heart attack symptoms you may be experiencing under control before help arrives.

As a paramedic for 15 years, I would say in addition to calling 911 go unlock your front door. You wouldn’t believe how many people forget about that and we get on scene and then they are immobile or unconscious, and we cannot access their residence without forceful entrycosting valuable minutes. Also, even during the daytime it’s helpful if you turn your porch light on it will help the emergency responders. Identify your house.

I also heard that you should cough very hard when experiencing symptoms or having a heart attack. It does something to improve blood flow by forcing, I think, the heart to pump blood through blocked arteries, I believe it was. I saw this years ago, could be wrong, of course.

      1) hold my breath, keep it in while trying to blow it out and giving yourself a bear hug.
      2) literally gag yourself with a spoon.
I don’t like the gag reflex so i do the breath and hug technique and it works.

Hi! I am a nurse and a woman who had a heart attack 3yrs ago at 30.
It started with substernal chest pain. I thought a soccer ball hit my chest, but as I was breast feeding, i thought it was my 9m old son hitting to find the breast.
Over the next 12hrs, I went for a walk (foolishly) and I was severely exhausted just lifting my 9m old from car seat to stroller.
During the walk, my left arm went numb. I immediately went to buy aspirin, took 2, and got someone to drive me to the ER.
Got 3 stents because of blockages (100, and 90%) in two separate arteries.
Looking back, I had weeks leading up where walking up 4 steps were work for me. I thought I just was out of shape bc gyms were closed due to Covid, and I was resting at the tail end of my pregnancy and Mat leave (c section).
Always always always take an aspirin when in doubt. It will save your life. Carry it on hand, in your car, in your purse.

You should talk more about silent heart attacks. These are attacks that you dont even know your having. I went undiagnosed for 6 months having many silent heart attacks. Went to the doctors. They did EKGs. They took xrays and concluded that my back pain must just be arthritis or muscle strain. Finally, 6 months later, when the pain finally reached my chest, I called 911 and went to the ER. There they recommended I go to the Cardiac center where they can use a dye to detect the problem. Only way to detect it. It was a blocked artery. Normal EKGs didnt detect it. Enzymes were only slightly elevated. If you have a back pain, located right behind the heart, get that checked out.

He didn't feel well, back of his shoulders/his back caused him some aggravation, he called his boss he was coming home, unfortunately sick. So he drove to Amsterdam and actually right to the hospital there as he really felt like shite. He went in and he was placed in a bed immediately and needed several bypasses. When the doctor heard he drove his truck from Paris to Amsterdam he said my father had had an angel sitting on his shoulder during that drive back.
For the rest of his life he was on medication after this but he made it.

Luckily she also had a doctor's appointment the next morning and when she told the doctor her symptoms he immediately checked her into the hospital...mild heart attack and severe stress were diagnosed. She's staying a few days in a private room with low lighting, soothing music and total rest. But what to do if you’re living alone with a dog?? I just had an accident at home, broke my ankle, had horrible pain, couldn’t get up anymore, barely found my phone to call an ambulance!
My small dog tried to defend me when first responders had to touch me and we had to lock him in the bathroom!
Then we had to leave the dog alone at home! I don’t know anyone who can take care of the dog. I found someone who took him out for short walks every day but he was alone every night for 2 weeks!
As I have heart issues as well, I really don’t know what to do with the dog, if something happens again???

Reach out to a rescue who can help while your incapacitated just for a short while . Have you no neighbours who would help? Lots people get help posting on social media . Hopefully you stay well .
