Awesome video!
Very interesting & fun thank you
so nice
Brilliant 👏........i am waiting on my inks to arrive...i really like to do large pieces of art can you work on any other substrate ?.... a sealed canvas maybe?.....looking forward to hearing from you 😀
Hey, thanks for watching the video :) Yes, you can. I have a video where I show how to seal a canvas to use alcohol inks on - ruclips.net/video/zKz4Kdf4DlI/видео.html
Hello, excellent work and very beautiful, I am a beginner and I love your style, I tried to make a similar one but when I try to move the paint with the straw it does not have the same fluids that I see in the video, I would like to ask you if you have to mix the previously paint with some alcohol to achieve that fluid?
Are you using paint? In this video I am using inks not paint. The alcohol inks react with isopropyl creating the effects in this video. Using paint won't achieve the same result. I just used the inks from concentrate, nothing was added to them. If you're interested in buying the inks - I use Adirondack inks by Tim Holtz.
Best alcohol ink vid I’ve seen. Thank you!! Love the way you get straight into it. Clear, simple instructions. Perfect!
Thanks :)
I love working with alcohol ink, and enjoy seeing what others have come up with. Thinking about expanding into other inks, beacaues I love the intensity of the colors and the playfulness they bring out of me.
Yes, they are such fun medium to work with. I keep wanting to buy more colours! :)
Yes. Keep on sharing your colorful art... while we're learning and enjoing it
Just starting out with alcohol inks, your video was great, clear instructions. Glad I watched it.
Thank you so much!
very clear instruction thank you. Love that it was short too, easier to fit in.
Very helpful to see different ways of working with the inks being new to the process. Thank you

The term rubbing alcohol is used here in Canada too.

Can you use masking fluid to create a design and then fill the areas with the alcohol inks?
Yes you can 😁
Love it - just bought some ink today - already have the yupo paper. Can't wait to get started.
Thank you Emma - good to watch, and find out how to do this technique I hadn't heard of until 2 days ago! :)
I'm so glad it's helped you :)
You make it seems so easy. Will have to give it a go! thanks for sharing

Thank you for the interesting and informative video. There are so many different ways that people use Yupo and alcohol inks but your method is my favorite thus far.
Thank you so much - its all about trial and error :)

Your work is amazing
thank you...iam new to this.i tried to do the enchanted forest...not to bad..does not look like yours!
Aww, practice makes perfect though. My alcohol ink art didn't look great at first but the more you work at it, the more you figure out how to do it 😁
Thank you so much! I have been wanted to try this inks, I bought them months ago!
Have fun!!
Thank you!
Thank you for this video, it was quite helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It is incredible work and looks very fun to do.
Thank you :)
I hope you have done more
I got some inks at the thrift store, but now I don't know how to use them. Is there no other paper that will work? That paper is quite expensive for my wallet. Can the inks be added to a blank/dry stamp pad and be used like distress inks?
I've never really tried that. I guess if you had to use any other paper, maybe try watercolour paper although they won't react together like they have in this video but you could use them to just add colour.
informative, and cheerful...thank you
Please do more tutorials. This one was very helpful.

Love this! More videos please!
Thanks Julia! I should do soon :)
Can you tell me the names of the pink and green inks please? I’d appreciate it! Thanks for your videos :)
The pink one is called Pink Sherbet and the green one is called Juniper :)
love it
Thanks!!
New subby here! Yes I love your tutorial! Thanks for sharing!!! It took me all day to find you. I'm working with some metal & bling embellishments and needed help to color them!!! ❣️
oh wow thank you so much!! I'm glad you found my channel then :) have fun colouring your embellishments x
Can you use watercolor paper?
You can but it won't work nearly so well. You can't layer up the inks much and they will start to bleed through the paper eventually.
can you do this on marker paper?
sorry I'm not sure, I've never tried it 🤷🏼♀️
If used on canvas, do you have to apply some sort of sealer once you are finished with the ink?
Yes, I would coat it with a varnish - you can pick either matte or gloss. Or you could coat it in resin.
Hi I am using alcohol ink but the brand is Pinata, you are suggesting Adirondack, do you think that is why ?
It could be. The piñata I find tends to be a bit thicker. I like using their white but the rest I use adirondack inks. I don't see why it shouldn't work though unless its because of the concentrate. Maybe thin them out a bit before with isopropyl
Would love to see more tutorials on alcohol ink.
Thank u :)
Loved your tutorial, Emma!
pretty awesome, thanks
thank you!
Can we use alcohol inks on fabrics?
Yes you can but it will soak through the fabric if you don't prime it. It depends what kind of effect you're going for.
Emma Ravens, oh I see then can what primer should I used? I want to use it for silk and satin cotton
ah sorry I thought you mean't it for canvas. Don't think you would need a primer for that but not my speciality I'm afraid.
Emma Ravens oh its okay thank you so much 😊
Love your artistic talent. Question, do you clear coat after it dries?
Thank you so much! I don't actually because I tend to frame these sort of small paintings but I understand that you can use a sealant.
Thank you so much for posting! I am an acrylic artist who just found out about alcohol inks and this was very helpful to watch. Also, you have a lovely accent. :) May I ask, do you know if you can use acrylic paint on top of a dried alcohol ink background?
I'm so glad it's been helpful to you Caitlin! Thanks :) Yes, I use acrylic on top of dried alcohol ink - should be absolutely fine and shouldn't react to water unless it's still wet.
how much this paper?
this small pad I got was about 7 pounds for 10 pages
Thank you for the tutorial! It looks awesome. I definitely need to find some time to try this after finishing up a couple other projects. Hope you decide to do more in the future as I find them enjoyable to watch and learn something new.
hey, thank you for sharing with us! Can I just ask, did you just add straw in alkohol and pick it up ir just touch it and then thats enaugh just to touch paint and that what it does to the paints? thanx xxx 💛💛💛💛
Yes I just dipped the straw in the alcohol and toched it on the page and thats enough for it to spread. It makes the inks blend into each other.
Hi Emma, thank you so much for this video, i found it really helpfully, i can't wait to have a play with my alcohol inks now :-)
I'm so pleased!
Thank you for the great video! Thank you, too, for NOT having 10 inch fingernails!!
Haha thank you!
Love!💜💜💜
How does it work on canvas? Do you need to prep it somehow?
Yes, I've actually only tried it once on a canvas. You do need to prep the canvas first as it needs to be able to take large amounts of liquid. Have a look at this link - alcoholink.community/prep-canvas-for-alcohol-ink/
nice job! turned out pretty :O)
This was a wonderful video !!
Thank you :)
What was the silver alcohol you said you used at the end?
it's also by Tim Holtz - Adirondack inks. I must admit though it wasn't my favourite to use - too subtle
Why is everything upside down?
yes sorry thats the only way I can fit my tripod on my table. I'll try & figure out another way to film it hopefully
thanks beautiful and helpful. sign me up!
Been wanting to try somwthing like this, thank you for making it so easy to understand and saying about experimenting!!! Thank you!!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it and it's helped! :)
