The varied roles of the sphinx in ancient Egypt are examined in this Great Beasts of Legend lecture. Egyptian religious imagery gives us an awesome assortment of fantastic hybrid beings and deities that are half-human, half-animal, or a composite of numerous creatures. Perhaps none of these beings are as evocative as the sphinx. Usually depicted as a human-headed lion, the sphinx was a protective entity and sphinx imagery appeared in Egyptian art, architecture, and texts for thousands of years.

@@rogerjackson9745 you're comparing the scientific method to theologians picking canon.... this is why we can't have nicer things. All major break throughs came against scrutiny weathering it is the point...
But I must ask, is someone sooo supposedly passionate about a subject who happens to be completely financially cappable willing to get a degree in the field and produce papers on theory but doesnt, might writting from the shield of "I'm not an expert" be a nice way to continue selling books and not be held accountable for conflating inaccuracy. If I made that much money writting on a subject I'd spend some on the degree for it.

People do seem fascinated with what might be called 'Man-Beasts' with the most obvious in popular culture nowadays being werewolves. Also harpies, centaurs and minotaurs. In very early cultures it is an simple leap to start worshipping animals, especially ones that have clear prowess in things such as hunting, or locomotion, or even flying. What would be a better expression of admiration and respect than to symbolically imbue oneself with their power? By wearing their skins or ritual. How many folk tales were passed down for this?

19: 10 it is clearly not a lion . It's either a jackal , decoding Anubis the god of death which expresses the event , or a dog , decoding the star Sirius which is often associated with the Orion constellation which is in turn , as widely known , represented by the figure with the raised- up hand and a foot stepped forward.

The Idea Of killing and the Sphinx is definitely a purposely wrong question to ask in this session as one of those last questions of doubts - Finalizing with a Doubting Thomas attitude is certainly not what we need!
Because the Sphinx Came Before this damage and Protects itself by itself.
__ Conclusion : __ It is because that is Your cross / crossing problem... and you are throwing it as usual at your adversaries.

Either that was just a slip of the tongue, or perhaps the hieroglyph is indeed supposed to be of a rising (rather than a setting) sun. It would look the same in either case, but *maybe* the Egyptians described exactly what it was supposed to represent, and *maybe* they did so early enough that the original meaning had not shifted.

Ancient Clay tablets speak to us about the creation of the great Lion... They say: This is a monument to the designer and builder of the "Mountains of the way showing". His name was Ningishzidda, during the age of the Lion. Ningishzidda's face was the original caved, It was re-carved by a jealous older brother named Marduk. Later to be re-named Ra. The new caved face is of Marduk's son, that is what you see now. Ningishzidda and his followers were banished to the americas and a new civilization started with a new look on pyramids. A combination of a Zudarack and a pyramid.

Her comments about the head of the Sphinx and the two pyramids echoing/modeling the horizon as the sun rises doesn't make sense. According to Wikipedia, the Sphinx faces east. According to Google maps, it lies east of the two pyramids. The images she shows are views made facing slightly north of west.

    This is the secret.
We begin with the Sphinx in Egypt/Kemet who is called, Horemakhet.
If your familiar with Aleister Crowley and Thelema, we'll tie the God of Aleister Crowley back to the Sphinx.
And to the Aten. Because it is the Aten.
First lets read the Dream Stele.
As you know the Dream Stele was written by the grandfather of Akhenaten, Thutmoses iv.
When we read the Dream Stele we see it says this:
    * I am your father Horemakhet ( Heru Khuti ) Khepera Ra Atum*
This is the God of the Sphinx said to Thutmoses iv. You also see the name of Ra Harakhte.
Ra Harakhte is Ra Heru Khuti.
Now the name Ra Heru Khuti is important. This is who those who are into egyptian or the Kemetic teachings calls Ra.
But his name is Ra Heru Khuti.
Lets go back to the Sphinx. In Kemet/Egypt it's called Horemakhet or Her Em Akhet.
Remember I'm gonna show this is the Aten and the God of Aleister Crowley and Thelema.
But first I want you to read the Great Hymn to the Aten. Here you'll see that it is dedicated to the God of his grandfather Thutmoses iv, Ra Heru Khuti or as he addressed Thutmoses iv in the Dream Stele:
" I am your father Horemakhet Khepera Ra Atum"
The Aten is Ra Heru Khuti..
Compare it to the Dream Stele and it is also dedicated to Ra Heru Khuti.
    The Aten..
Once again let's return to the Sphinx or Horemakhet.
    This is the secret.
Horemakhet is Her Em Akhet ( Sphinx )
Her Em Akhet is Heru on the Horizon.
Heru on the Horizon is Heru Khuti
Heru Khuti is Mars and not the Sun.
    It should read:
    * I am your father Heru Khuti Khepera Ra Atum *
    But it's veiled as:
    * I am your father Horemakhet ( Heru Khuti/Mars ) Khepera Ra Atum*
Read the story of Ra and Auset.
Ra revealed his secret name as this:
    I am Khepera
    I am Ra ( Ra Heru Khuti-Aten)
    I am Ra Atum..
    Who am I?
The secret name of Ra is Heru Khuti
    Heru Khuti is:
    Khepera
    Ra ( Ra Heru Khuti-Aten)
    Ra Atum
Heru Khuti Khepera Ra Atum or as he addressed Thutmoses iv in the Dream Stele:
    * I am your father Horemakhet ( Heru Khuti ) Khepera Ra Atum*
In the Book of the Dead Ra says,
" I AM RA WHO ART HERU KHUTI*
    Ra is Heru Khuti
    Heru Khuti is Horemakhet
    Her Em Akhet
    Mars
Hence his name is Ra Heru Khuti
    Ra Horakhty
    Ra Harmachis
    Har Machu
The Aten is Ra Heru Khuti
Ra Heru Khuti is the God of Aleister Crowley and Thelema.
    Ra Heru Khuti is Mars
    The Sphinx
    Horemakhet
    Her Em Akhet
    Heru Khuti
It was Heru Khuti that defeated Set.
The Winged Sun Disc is in honor of Heru Behutet.
    Heru Behutet is Heru Khuti
    Heru Khuti is Mars
    * Medu Neter Vol 1 page 226*
Akhenaten is High priest of Ra Heru Khuti the exalted one of the Horizon.
The secret name of Ra is Heru Khuti.
    Heru Khuti is Mars
    Note;
In the Christian faith Heru Khuti is Elohim Gibor.
    Elohim Gibor is Geburah
    Geburah is Mars
    Mars is Heru Khuti..
    Ra is Heru Khuti
    Jesus is Elohim Gibor
    Also Samael= Elohim Gibor
The Great Hymn to the Aten
    Translated by John A. Wilson
Praise of Re Har-akhti,( Ra Heru Khuti ) Rejoicing on the Horizon, in His Name as Shu Who Is in the Aton-disc, living forever and ever; the living great Aton who is in jubilee, lord of all that the Aton encircles, lord of heaven, lord of earth, lord of the House of Aton in Akhet-Aton; (and praise of) the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, who lives on truth, the Lord of the Two Lands: Nefer-kheperu-Re Wa-en-Re; the Son of Re, who lives on truth, the Lord of Diadems: Akh-en-Aton, long in his lifetime; (and praise of) the Chief Wife of the King, his beloved, the Lady of the Two Lands: Nefer-neferu-Aton Nefert-iti, living, healthy, and youthful forever and ever; (by) the Fan-Bearer on the Right Hand of the King ... Eye.
Sphinx Represent the Sun god Horemakhet-Khepri-Ra-Atum
Sphinx Represent the god Re-Harakhte ( Ra Heru Khuti ) or (Harmakhis/Horemakhet according to other translations), the sun god.
"Dream Stele, that can still today be found between the paws of the great Sphinx at Giza. In Tuthmosis IV's "Dream Stele", he tells us that, while out on a hunting trip, he fell asleep in the shadow of the Sphinx (or apparently, the shadow of the Sphinx's head, for the monument was apparently buried in sand at the time). In the young prince's sleep, Re-Harakhte,( Ra Heru Khuti ) the sun god embodied in the Sphinx, came to him in a dream and promised that if he would clear away the sand that engulfed the monument, Tuthmosis would become king of Egypt.
It was noon time the sun was strong so the prince chose to lie down in the shadow of the sphinx. As he was sleeping he heard the Sphinx speak with his own mouth saying :
I am your father, Horemakhet-Khepri-Ra-Atum. I shall give to you the kingship (upon the land before the living)...(Behold, my condition is like one in illness), all (my limbs being ruined). The sand of the desert, upon which I used to be, (now) confronts me; and it is in order to cause that you do what is in my heart that I have waited."

The snake who threatens the sailor in the Shipwrecked sailor has very strange symetrical loops on the document shown : 6 x 2 on the left and 5 x 2 on the right : a double scale of two bases. The dimensions of the beast (30 and 2) are not fantastic they refer to something abstract. What can they refer to ?
The "hair" of the sphinx, the "nemes headdress" presents a very precise order and it is rigourously divided in two equal parts. The sphinx is a pharaonic figure. The pharaon is the encarnation of the SUN god in our dimension. The head of the sphinx cuts the world in two equal parts like the sun cuts Earth in two equal parts, when one part is enlightened, the other part is in the shadow. The pharaon rules his kingdom like the sun "makes" the night and day cycle. : his authority is depicted as natural and indisputable. The head of the sphinx (with a clear East-West orientation in the Gizeh plateau) is the SUN that cuts the round Earth or the big triangular mountain in two and we should analyse very carefully the number of lines that organise the nemes headdresses and the beards because it could give us precious clues about measure. This idea occurred to me after studying carefully Gilgamesh epic because in Gilgamesh, the end of the world, the limit of the world is signaled by two twin mounts. The image of the sphinx is comparable though both civilisations (Mesopotamian and Egyptian) have each their own interpretation of the concept. In Mesopotamia, Enkidu and GIlgamesh have strange, regular curly hairs and beards, Gudea wears a very curious perfect round turban whereas the assyrian hybrid bulls have improbable curls in their hairs and in their beards... The ruler of the cedar forest (crossed by straight paths) Humbaba has stripes in his hair and he is assisted by hybrid creatures the SARSARU snake-birds. The territory is protected by the combination of the two animals and we find them on Toutankhamon (or whoever else)'s mask. What a strange coincidence. The claim of such a huge knowledge and wisdom (snake-soil, bird-sky, lion-strength of the top predator in the food chain) is an assertion of indisputable legitimity to rule a territory. The figure is impressive and makes the message clear for both insiders and outsiders !

    • @kidu9618
      @kidu9618 6 лет назад

The tail of the sphinx is wrapped around the right side, we have to consider it as the "dexter" side associated to light when the left side is the "sinister" side that corresponds to darkness. The Sun God Šamaš on Mesopotamia cylinder seals, cuts the big Mountain Earth in two twin mounts : he holds a sword or a knife in his right raised arm when his left arm is down and touches the other mount. This asymetry corresponds to the asymetry between night and day : Earth can never be enlightened on both sides at the same time !
(It is also Saint Michael's attitude, golden solar figure on the Saint-Michael's mount church spine in France !

I was interested up until 23:00 when she inferred that the Great Spinx was the face of Khafra. She can't be that blind can she? After all the research done on this statue she is still in denial. She just proved to be a phony.

Mainstream archaeology, leaves many questions unanswered, the dating of the great Sphinx at 20th minute, Dynasty 4 (ca. 2625-2500 BCE) is very conservative at best. She has not taken into account the weathering caused by rain on the main body of the Sphinx nor has she addressed the fact the head does not contain the same weathering patterns. Then there is the matter the head is not proportionate to the body, suggesting that the head had been re-carved at some point.
At 26 minutes she talks about the Sphinx being in the centre of the two Pyramids to mark the centre of the raising sun on the horizon, at best this is just guess work, the image does not prove anything as the Sphinx is of centre to the two Pyramids. There are better explanations regarding the orientation of the Sphinx and these are easy to research.
There are many many more inaccuracies in her presentation which is why, we as a world will never move on and learn the truth about global history, as anything that does not fit the norm, is explained away with imaginary theories that are then given as fact.

Im really surprised at how much of the erroneous Dogma is still being repeated about the pyramids like them knowing who built them. Because they don't know who built those pyramids, they're just guessing. FYI the oldest Sphinx is the Sphinx and it's a lot older than y'all think. Robert schoch mic drop

I'm sure she's a great scholar but it's a drag listening to her speak, get someone else to do it, like Brian Rose, he's entertaining. You need to keep people focused throughout the lecture, not have them falling asleep in the first 3 minutes. Would've loved to listen to this, but it's paintfully boring.

SHe was very boring and pedantic. I was NOT expecting such a grocery list of facts. She doesn't touch on the disputed facts such as its age & the head. Many conjecture that the head is too small. If you look at all the sphinxes she showed, the heads are almost 30% of the statue. WHy is the Great Sphinx's head so tiny?

While there may or may not be questions to be asked about history the Sphinx of Giza, this was *_not_* the place: this is about the _Egyptian sphinx as a mythological construct_. And if you want to watch videos about historical conspiracy theories, there are plenty of other places to do so.

Really, if you studied them and havent figured why they are there, shhhh. dont make up a story from YOUR paradigms.~~~ Snake 30 cubits long and "beard" 2 cubits= giant constrictor like anaconda. Dr Seuss is more historically correct in his stories... I'm off.

Please stop lying to the public. Common sense tells us that the Sphinx is way older than 4,500 years. Look at the erosion surrounding it. Egypt was once a vast jungle with yearly monsoons similar to India. Try to think for yourself and not just repeat what you have "studied" or heard. This is sometimes 'the curse of being a doctor', they are so woven into their specialized study that some, not all, are unable to think for themselves. Bless.
