Great video and beautiful houses 😍! It just concerns me that people are moving out of the dream homes they built just a few years ago and leaving the country 😬. Whoever built the first home put so much effort into importing all those fixtures and appliances only to leave it all behind a couple of years later.

@@KrisandMike I'm considering becoming an expat myself, but I would definitely want to rent for a year or two before buying. I feel like you never really know an area until you've lived there for a while.

There are smaller and more rustic properties for rent and sale but they may not fit the needs of all folks as they lack hot water and air conditioning. But if you wanted to go more basic, a 2/1 about a 15-minute walk to the beach (

The most difficult thing so far is relocating our large lab mix dog … it seems like there is not direct fly from Fort Lauderdale/ Miami area Airports to Guayaquil .. so our puppy is going to be flying in cargo from Miami to Quito then Guayaquil … well we have to do what we have to do ANYTHING to relocate our pets
@@Ladivinadonna Yes we understand. It will be so much better when it's all over. Our dogs were our biggest worry. Now everything is fine. Soon you will feel that too

geez it's a shame that first couple is moving. Looks like it was built as a dream home. I wonder what the story was there. If I were moving there today I would be tempted to make an offer.

I can't believe people would enter retirement and sign themselves up for an HOA fee. Especially at $170/month!!
Yes totally understand. Some people feel more secure in a gated community so pay that. We are not in a gated community and have no HOA. However many hoas are less than 100.
@@KrisandMike Ok. I have to learn more about the need for HOAs specifically for safety. Then avoid those places...heh.

The prices here vary alot. Many ecuadorians tend to buy land and build. That is the cheapest.

can someone comment on the weather in these areas? How is the humidity with the ocean breezes?
Weather is such a personal thing. It all depends what you are used too. We do run air conditioner in dehumidifier mode to take the humidity out for sleeping. We also have a pool and pergolas. If you have none of those it may be too hot and humid for many.
Weather is not personal there is a science
the owners of all houses moving to other countries. they had enough..

Yes, house #3. Their best friend in Salinas is a gourmet chef, so visiting would be a culinary delight. Just a thought. I'd put chickens there. :-) & garden. Thanks for showing all. Hope you do more. Did any of these people have security issues ?

@@KrisandMike If you talk to realtor, if they know, it would be interesting in heavy rains to know how retaining wall did/does. Ecuador is beautiful. (BTW, bags go on fruit blossom after pollination)
