    If you arrive in the middle of the night at the bus station in Cuenca and you have no change for a taxi, you can go to the JEP ATM at the bus station add extract a sum that ends in a $5. That way you will get a $5 bill. In the daytime, you can easily go into any Bank and exchange a $20 bill for 20 $1 coins.

    $35 for 2 beers and salmon, there are many places in Cuenca where you could feed 4 people for that. If you want a western restaurant you will pay western prices, but you could have the same food in Florida, New York or anywhere , try the mom and pop places and get the $2.50-$4.00 lunch or $5.00-$7.00 dinner that you won't find in the states.

    So people have been making videos like this since camcorders could fit in your pocket. So are you thinking that you are the first to do this. What a waste of video.

      @@CultureShockAddict 100 years from now, a new young guy will be making the same video. WOW LOOK WHAT I DISCOVERED! JUST CALL ME CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS! How would you like it if someone from Ecuador came to your neighborhood everyday with a camcorder telling the world "Look what I discovered". Get a life man. Is this the best you can do with it? Oh, and getting drunk while you're at it. I bet you have women throwing themselves at you all day every day......NOT.

    18 min walk and you wanted to take a cab? Way to reinforce the lazy american stereotype.

    • @CultureShockAddict
      @CultureShockAddict  Год назад +8

      20 minute walk, in the middle of the night, in a city and country that I've never explored before, with a 58lb backpack, streets completely dead and empty, and I've had a gun pulled on me in an identical type of scenario while traveling also in South America less than a year ago, so if me wanting to be cautious and explore all of my options before making that journey makes me the "typical" lazy American, I'll take that stereotype for the team. Additionally, if you watch just a millisecond of any of my videos, you'll notice I literally walk everywhere in every single country, heat, cold, snow, doesn't matter. Way to reinforce the typical RUclips/Social media viewer, quick to jump to conclusions with 0 context. Thanks for watching. Saludos 🍻

      @@CultureShockAddict I was quoting the '18 min' number from your own video and later you said you felt very safe walking the streets, so which is it? If you felt it was that dangerous, then just pay the $20 and let the cabbie keep the change.

      @@noseboop4354 He may feel safe but doesn't mean its a given. Cuenca is usually safe but there have been some instances where bad things happen. Like he said, its unfamilar turf. I'm sure he wanted to just get home as quick as possible and prepare to rest too.
