I'm not sure I could say the same in the Supra, even now with the manual. The die has been cast.
Me. Not interested in an automatic. I was 100% going to get the Z, but now that I heard they have MT on Supra I'm reconsidering.
The auto on my 2021 Supra is phenomenal. Best one that I have driven in any car. With that said, If I can get my hands on a 6MT. I’m trading it in. lol
Rather than place that stupid dial on the right of the shifter a cup holder would’ve been better. Have the two openings for the cup holders right where your elbow rests is a bad design.
Best BMW you can buy . So dope . Amazing car
You can hear the grind when you did the 1-2 shift at 13:03
The new Z has the same problem.
You're incorrect.
The reason you hear the grind here is bc Sofyan is bad at driving stick.
And literally the only Z that has seen this is the Canadian version from straight
pipes channel.
@@porfiriato84 You're the one who's incorrect. Same grind happened at 16:05 when Rob drove it.
@@YasssStitch don't matter. I really couldn't care less about the supra 🤣
@@porfiriato84 the second comment made certain that you do not care at all.
@@boughtandpaidforautoreview1150 ummm.
Oooookkaaayyyyyy...
casually... a GR Corolla drives in the back.
Moment of silence to the people who bought the automatic supra wishing there was manual, and especially the people who swapped a manual themselves
This is a gorgeous Supra…that manual trans is🔥🔥
You DON'T have to forgo clear coat for matte look. There is satin clear paint to maintain that look, and wet sand lightly with 1,500 grit without polish to get it.
Beautiful machine... and the b58 sounds glorious out of those pipes.
It didn't cut power you bogged it lol. I love this car, you're the only reviewer of this car I couldn't make it through the whole video
It’s beautiful 🙏🏽
When Rob said try launching it at above 3k rpm I was like yes that’s what you need Sofyan
The transmission is a ZF unit derived from the 4cyl z4.
ZF Transmissions are used in different cars from different manufacturers. So therefore it ain't some "transmission from BMW"
Love it, great video!
Sofyan Wind buffeting still a big issue?
No comment on those 1-2 gear grinds at 13:00 and 16:00 ?
Are you sure it has Android Auto? 8:25
best looking car on the road....most underrated
Awesome 👍🏽 review. Thanks 🙏🏾 for the update.
By the end of that intro i thought i was gonna go to another country
One of toyota best looking cars around well done ❤
When will you review the 4cyl model?
That’s beast
How does it handle compared to an ND miata? Considering trading my miata for the supra manual but not sure which is the more fun car.
Excellent question. Kind of doing the same
RF or Supra. Miata is all about skill whereas I have a 1984 turbo mkII supra half built in my garage..... Yet this new one with a manual has me intrigued.. if the climate activist get there way this may be the final ICE supra produced.
The silver one in the back shows the lines better than the white paint
Now if Nissan would give us the manual GTR 🥲
As much as I love my 2022 3.0 premium, I wish I knew a manual was coming for 2023. I definitely would've waited 😭
with this crazy used market u could probably break even on trade in
@@DrHistoryV you're probably right. I've already gotten a letter from Toyota offering to buy back my car, but they didn't say for how much. I also have all my stock parts that I can easily put back on and transfer to the new car if I were to get it (intake, charge pipe, downpipe, exhaust.)
Have you been living under a rock??!!
@@aa-gz6kw I knew 5 months after I bought mine. Sorry, I'm not a nerd with no life that lives on the internet.
Perfect , now they just need to release the T Top and all is good !
At @2.:03 nice GR Supra…… that GR COROLLA IN THE BACK!!!!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
We all know that that’s what we really care about. The GR corolla
@@naveenthemachine phukk no.
That thing is absolutely hideous looking. So much understeer. Won't be surprised when people find out how crappy it drives.
@@porfiriato84 what makes you say it drives crappy? Have you even driven one?
@@naveenthemachine you can see it yourself on theTopher's channel. He drove it on track and it's definitely not what most expected to see
Really nice car but why is the passenger door panel black?
Curious how’s the engagement point when releasing the clutch before the car starts rolling ? Is it high or low as if you barely let off the clutch and cars already engage or it engage when clutch pedal is almost kick out. Had a Z. The clutch engagement was high.
Toyota and Honda manuals are usually well sorted for engagement.
They actually WANT their customers to enjoy their cars unlike Nissan with their crap CVT’s and unreliability.
I think if your friend drives and if your not above see level this can hit 0 to 60 in 4 sec flat which ain't bad at all now I think I should reconsider and get the manual GR supra
Yup, if anyone else drives it will do 4 seconds. He's always slower than all other reviewers.
I really wish you would try something new and improve your camera work. Angles, movements, and some editing would take the channel to a new level in my opinion
We’ve experimented with that in the past and sometimes it does well and sometimes it doesn’t. Our time with this car was limited so we don’t always have time to get the extra shots or editing needed to accommodate that. Thanks for the suggestion tho!
Finally a 6-speed BMW !
Does that infotainment knob get in the way of the passenger leg?
Why this A91 doesn't have the GR Strut Brace?
Always dropping that clutch on launches haha
ALL HAIL THE MANUAL!!!!!!⚡⚡🔥🔥
Nice driving. 4.4 and 4.7 are solid
Great Review, Like the Supra Hat Cap, Where I can get one?
love this car, but that bmx x1 steering wheel from a 2015 is killing me
That's the worst part of the car. Looks fugly
what about the interior styling? its a bmw interior...the old supra had a way more unique interior...
Sucks that there’s a ton of great cars coming out and not one manufacturer has committed to protecting the enthusiasts from insane markups from dealers who literally do nothing but take delivery. If you want any of these cars before summer of 2023, almost certainly going to pay $7,000-$10,000 over MSRP
Mark Miller Toyota in SLC Utah doesn't have any markups. I pre-ordered my manual supra and they were adamant about not adding any fees over MSRP.
@@hgp7605 I appreciate the tip! I don’t mean this to come off like a jerk but.. I’m skeptical. Do you have it in writing that they won’t mark it up or just kind of hoping they are being honest? I would seriously consider buying one if there were no mark up. If you don’t mind me asking, what was the quoted OTD price?
you can't just dump the clutch from a stand still. You have to get the revs up around 3-4000rpm then let up the clutch quite quickly, not just to lift the clutch up all at once. Takes practice. sorry for the criticism
Wonder if the cayman gts is worth the extra 30 plus grand? Especially if you can even get one allocated.
Any word on a t-top or spyder version in the future?
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!!!!!!!!
It's lame how peeps get mad about the Supra not havin' a stick shift , yet back in 80s people wasn't mad about the Buick Grand National/GNX not havin' a stick shift.....they just didn't care lmao
How does the shifter feel in general? If possible, compared to the S2000?
lol.
I haven’t driven it, but nfw it can feel well-compared to a mechanical-feeling Honda/Mazda box; particularly the S2K’s.
BMW boxes feel more like shifting a banana in goulash.
(tbc, not that I still wouldn’t rock one!)
No handbrake on a manual is so weird
0:07 press x to doubt 😂
Is that gear grind 1st 2nd??? I heard it twice
Because he takes it out of first before stepping on the clutch. So annoying
The manual is nice, but more importantly did they fix the wind buffeting??
That's a cheap fix.
Love the fact TOYOTA tuned the manual specifically for their Toyota supra and it’s not just the parts been drop in.
It’s literally from ZF
It's still a parts drop in. The ZF is used by BMW.
What? Majority of the Supra is a parts bin. Nothing Toyota about the Supra besides the tune, badge and design.
It ain’t a Toyota my dude
Same transmission that’s in BMW with a different shifter and possibly clutch.
Was it grinding going into second?
Does it still have loud wind noise driving with the Windows down?
Nice - I want one. She would make a nice friend for my GR Yaris
I suport you cuz yu AZN 💯 Fighting! AZN unity 🤝 ✌️ ♥️
Why is it a good thing the 4 cylinder doesn’t get a manual? More options to get into a manual especially a cheaper option would be great.
Because that would just mean more and more people would get the 4 cylinder with the manual, making it harder to get a 6 cylinder in the future in the used car market.
Plus, it also makes it less accessible to more people as the people who get this are more likely to have the skill to handle something like this
He on rich boy energy
@@SkylineLofe less thn 5% of people in the US drive manual it wouldn’t make that much of a difference if they gave you the option to pick a more affordable option
@@SkylineLofe it would be more beneficial actually because it would show a demand for manual cars and make it more likely to make them in the future
Barely anyone buys manual so offering it on two engines is hard to justify from a manufacturing perspective. If you can't afford the I6, then the GR86 is a perfectly good car.
So when will it get the s58👀
