Nice runs gents! Those 5.0s are beasts off the line - I can't keep the arse-end of my Charger 392 underneath it to maximize power at launch well enough to match one (I need bigger tires). Seems pretty equal from a roll, until they hit the extra gears. As a former 'stang owner I wish they had the 10 speeds when I had mine, but I wouldn't let my scat pack go for one. I love the extra cabin space 😁

Not really. Every car is different. There's honestly just some factory freaks out there. It's all about the milage and break in from what it seems like. I've seen a few chargers do the exact same thing. The power and torque is definitely there. Driver is a big thing too.

You can go 5.0 10speed route but you can also go Chevy Camaro SS route that has a better race track performance and with a few mods you can be pushing way more hp than the Mustang. Because as they at least used to say, "There is no replacement for displacement."
Yeah, but it's a Camaro literally can't fit or see shit out of the thing. mustang redesigned their whole car to be able to beat SRT-8 from 11-14 (mustang looks great to) but Camaro is just so small and so uncomfortable to sacrifice weight might Aswell get corvette. Actually, incorect. The 5.0 is very mod capable, maybe even more than the Camaro. Especially considering a 6.2 is making 455 while the new 5.0 makes 480.
Good runs. But let's be realistic here, the scat had a full catback and intake. The 5.0 had just a muffler delete. And the Mustang had a passenger as well. I wouldn't call the Scat a factory freak, most of the runs were very close aside from the digs where the Mustang took it decisively. So with a slight edge to the Scat on modifications over the Mustang, and an edge to the Scat as the Mustang had a passenger, this is about how it should perform under these circumstances. I know we're more accustomed to seeing the Mustang edge out the Scat when stock vs stock, but the Scat had some slight advantages from a typical stock vs stock race with no passengers in either car and no modifications to either car. Overall, looked like some fun runs! It's about what I would expect to see under those specific circumstances.
Intake and exhaust on the hemis barely gains anything without an actual tune. I have the dyno videos from back when I had a 392. The re-tune is where you gain the power. Even headers without a tune is barely 8 to 10 wheel on a 392 without a retune so this 392 isn't making much more. Both cars ran well.

Those were some good runs! Some things to note: 1. Mustang has 2 people in the car, both of which look to be pretty big guys. 2. Scatpack was not stock, however, I understand bolt ons don't do much without a tune on those. 3. Mustang is the base 300A package, which does not have drag mode. Drag strip mode shifts completely different an actually makes a big difference. I've tested it on my own GT Mustang. Good runs though, not taking away from the scat. It moves out quick! Lose the passenger and mustang will beat it every time. You won't believe how big of a difference a 200lb+ passenger makes in races.

Got rid of my scat charger for a GT my motor threw a main bearing or cam shaft bearing they would charge me to dig further they did replace it once they determined that my intake was carb legal took 2 months I had 42000 miles and I was pretty easy on it sad I love the cars they are nice comfortable I like the suspension and handling at high speeds I now have to upgrade my suspension because my GT’s suspension sucks

Every car is different. There are some that run better than others and I can tell you this Scat is definitely a factory freak with how's its performing. I owned a scat myself all I have is racing with that car.

Intake and exhaust does make much at all without a tune lol. His car just runs really well honestly. I used to have a scat and dynoed with exhaust and intake with the stock tune. It picked up twice as much with the tune.

This is very surprising. I owned both, formally a 392 Charger and currently a ten speed 5.0 Mustang. The 392 has its best power output on the low end and the ten speed 5.0 Mustang has incredible top end power. At the end of the day stock for stock the Mustang is the quicker and faster car but its lighter and it has a very good ten speed transmission. Both cars are beats and you can't go wrong with either car.

See people forget about tq levels when they talk about weight. The mustang makes crap tq levels compared the scat.if you look at the dyno numbers that scat put down 474 wheel tq and 424 whp. Nah I drive a n/a 2020 10r80 and seem to gap scats by a car length or two, even if they get a hit the 10 speed will always catch back up it really depends on the driver.
What a lot of people don’t understand is the 5.0 is supposed to be a matchup for the RT and the GT 350s are supposed to be mashed up with the scat packs and the GT 500 are supposed to be matched up with the hellcats
No you got it wrong. The GT matches the ScatPack, The GT500 matches the HellCat. The GT350 is a track oriented vehicle and there is nothing in Dodge that compares to it. The R/T’s competition is an EcoBoost 😂.

Intake and exhaust does make much at all without a tune lol. His car just runs really well honestly. I used to have a scat and dynoed with exhaust and intake with the stock tune. It picked up twice as much with the tune.

This is very surprising. I owned both, formally a 392 Charger and currently a ten speed 5.0 Mustang. The 392 has its best power output on the low end and the ten speed 5.0 Mustang has incredible top end power. At the end of the day stock for stock the Mustang is the quicker and faster car but its lighter and it has a very good ten speed transmission. Both cars are beats and you can't go wrong with either car.

Nope no tune on the car but it's getting headers and a tune very soon... He wants to get Corsa headers and 93 tune soon.

the charger can go neck and neck from a dig if launched correctly but man its definitely harder to launch

See people forget about tq levels when they talk about weight. The mustang makes crap tq levels compared the scat.if you look at the dyno numbers that scat put down 474 wheel tq and 424 whp. This is the heaviest car dodge makes as-well yet competes. Nah I drive a n/a 2020 10r80 and seem to gap scats by a car length or two, even if they get a hit the 10 speed will always catch back up it really depends on the driver.

What a lot of people don’t understand is the 5.0 is supposed to be a matchup for the RT and the GT 350s are supposed to be mashed up with the scat packs and the GT 500 are supposed to be matched up with the hellcats

No you got it wrong. The GT matches the ScatPack, The GT500 matches the HellCat. The GT350 is a track oriented vehicle and there is nothing in Dodge that compares to it. The R/T’s competition is an EcoBoost 😂.
