great video man was looking everywhere for if this could be used so the receiver screen faces the lens direction for vlogging and stuff....bummer that it cant!
I remember when I got my Rode Wireless Go II for my a7iii. Plugged it in, seemed great, then when I went to edit, the audio was all just onboard audio. Turns out the mic in port had broken. From then on, I wished Rode would make a MI connected receiver. Then when the DJI Mic came out with those pogo pins that could connect to lightning or usb-c, I thought they’d offer an MI adapter. But no. I now have an FX30 for A cam, and my a7iii’s mic in port is repaired, but I just received my DJI Mic 2. With the cold shoe mount, it gets a bit in the way of the built in 1/4 inch screw holes on top. The MI adapter that I’ve dreamt of for years is arriving tomorrow. I can’t wait to finally use it!
Lately I’ve been using FPCX natively and the creative LUT (still love color finale but on certain fcpx updates it bugs out sometimes for a bit, so I’ve just been using native for a little while)
curious if this would work with the A7SIII cage which I've put on my A7IV. Seems like it would clear the nato rail on top. Only one way to find out unfortunately. lol
This is what tempts me to buy the DJI mic 2…..I didn’t use the original DJI mic enough and I sold it….but very tempting for me to buy version 2….but we shall see. Great video and awesome thumbnail! Wait it auto levels for you??? (Did I see that wrong?) If that is true I have to go buy now lol 😂
Yes, when you use the adapter you actually can’t adjust the cameras internal levels (just like the other Sony ECM mics) it auto adjusts it for you. You can still control the receiver and transmitter levels as needed, but they also have preset gain settings for different camera brands and models
Hi Ben do you think this will solve the static noice issues? I’m using a Sony a6700 and the only way to have cleaner audio is when I record using the 32bit which I felt is an overkill as the static seems to be caused by the cable. Would you recommend this or a better cable option? 🙏🏽😭
I don’t hate the idea of using the Mi relocation cable so that I can see the screen of the DJI receiver. Especially using the FX30 I can just mount an additional cold shoe mount. Thanks for the inspiration.
It's sad that it doesn't work for the Sony zv1 :( I was dumb to buy it without even researching. Well, I guess I now have a stronger case to buy a new camera. 🤣😅
As far as the visibility when you are in front of the camera: the mic levels do show up on the camera's screen when it is flipped around, right?
the only person who reviewed this product and really answered the question of whether or not it can record at 24bit 👏thanks
Yes you can choose in the settings either 16bit or 24bit
@@benjohnsoncreative so this system, with the connector, will allow 24bit recording internally with the Sony A7s3 and a7c series?
@@HKcinema-filmsyes I managed to get 24 bit audio via this exact adapter
Great review! Thanks a bunch. Might be a worthwhile buy if you're also running another cable to your gimbal and want to reduce the clutter.

I wish it could!

Does it work with Sony lavaliers? The DJI Mic 1 doesn't but the RØDE Wireless Go do..
I totally agree; it is a convenience and not a convenience. However, it's nice to have the option of going with or without! Thanks!
Exactly! I like having it in the tool kit
Bro do you still color correct your videos using Color Finale and the Creative LUT?
Lately I’ve been using FPCX natively and the creative LUT (still love color finale but on certain fcpx updates it bugs out sometimes for a bit, so I’ve just been using native for a little while)
Planning to release presets and LUTS very soon for sale
@@benjohnsoncreative heck yeah, can't wait. i was going to ask if you had any for sale
Excellent, this would be very handy with the ZV1
Could you run this and, say, the Tentacle E sync simultaneously?
Do you use the adapter when the camera is on a gimbal? Will it be possible to lower it without the receiver and adapter hitting the gimbal?
Probably depends on your gimbal. The adapter has to be on the hot shoe on the camera and doesn’t adjust

Haha yeah you may just have to try it. This has to be on the hot shoe on the camera so if the cage doesn’t allow for that it wouldn’t work

Can dji 2 record audio 32 bit with Sony cemera ?
It records 32bit float with the internal recordings on the transmitters
Great info! Thanks for being really critical!
Glad you enjoyed it
Does this work with the Sony zve10?
You put a lot of research into this. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Personally I’d recommend this, I use it
And like it a lot

Happy the option is there for us to choose at least
If you use this adapter and also a cam mounted shotgun mic plugged into mic in on the cam what happens?
You can’t, the shotgun mic overrides it
@@benjohnsoncreativekinda kills this for me if I need both. only option is a TRS to dual TSF splitter cable i guess.

Does it work for the FX3?
Only reason I got it was so I don’t have to be worried about the cable becoming unplugged.
Honestly, reason enough lol
Ey good camera.
Thanks!
Can this work with the dji mic 1 ?
Unfortunately no it can not
@@benjohnsoncreative: how do you know? Did you try?
@@golden_teddythe pogo pins are different. Only 4 on the DJI Mic and 8 on the Mic 2.
The cable is smaller
I see what you mean as far as height, but the cable def gets in the way more in general
Ugh. I wish my Sony supprted 32-bit float in camera. 😂
Same, but even if it did, the DJI mics would also need to be able to transmit 32bit float, not just record it
The headline is misleading. What fake information. It only works with Sony Cam.
It’s true info for Sony camera
