finally someone someone is not scared to work on the f80 platform
Your video was a huge help and saved me $800 from a local BMW shop (non-dealer). Definitely tricky and tight to get this done. With some patience it can be done.
Massive thanks for this video from the UK. We were just about to take out the fan as we are doing the same job on a M2 comp and came across this video. Saved us a load of time. Cheers mate 👊🏽
My pleasure. I would really appreciate if you and your friends would consider subscribing to the channel and bell alerts. Thank you!!
@@burg2daworld done 👍🏽
this video is so on time. I just broke my belt just 3days ago and I was wondering if I can do it myself. Thank you!!!!
How many miles did you have when you broke your belt?
Amazing work bro!
I want to say thank you. You have helped me a lot, and you will be lucky.
Thank you for your DIY, how many miles did your car have when the belt broke?
85k about
Thanks for taking the time to share this.
You can put ur breaker on the waterpump pulley and it’ll rotate and loosen/ tighten
Damn good stuff man... shops out here charging 5-6 hour labor for this.. saving this for the weekend
Awesome video! Thanks for your help on the community. Quick question, how many miles on that belt before it torn itself apart like that?
No problem. Please consider subscribing to the channel 🙏.
I was around 85k miles at this point
Thank you for DIY’ing this, can you share the torque figures? Thanks buddy
Thanks from Houston!
You’re welcome
You did a great job with the instruction.
Thank you I’m glad I could’ve helped!! Please subscribe
Do you by chance have the torques?
You’re very detailed! 👍🏽
thank you. i was super curious how to get that water pump pulley belt off.
You’re welcome . I’ll be having more content similar to this . Subscribe and stay tuned 🙂
How do you loosen the alternator belt ?
God bless you for doing these videos
Thank you for the compliment please share and like the content so I can do more for the channel 🙏
Will do brother. Do you think you could do one on the valve cover and/or spark plugs?
Ok I will definitely do spark plug and valve cover.
Whats up man good video very detailed. I’m about to get this done on my bmw. The belt is completely shredded. Do you think I can get away with just changing out the belt ? Or replacing the tensioner is necessary?
Jules O I would HIGHLY recommend you do the tensioner also. You might get away with just doing the belt but since you’re already right there you might as well. Here’s a video I made on how simple the tensioner is to change ruclips.net/video/ehlD9x_VPVA/видео.html. hope I was able to help
bro.... you almost saved me.. got me 90% of the way.. but you didnt really explain the tensioner or how to adjust it? I think I heard something about a t60? You also mentioned torque specs and a diagram in your video but they werent around in the description.... The mention of t60 was enough for me to google t60 bmw tensioner.. and find what I needed. you saved me 1700$ in labour BMW wanted 😂 thanks Burg
I’m sorry about that but Glad I could help!
How about the belt getting sucked up
Thanks for the 2 belt-related videos, really helpful. Did I miss the torque specs somewhere for the various bolts? Thx much
Anytime you’re very welcome. I just noticed I forgot to post the torque spec. I’ll try and relocate the torque specs for those bolts.
@@burg2daworld Hey, no worries man... was able to get someone on the forums to post them up. You can find them here f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=27698360&postcount=14
Another question though: If I want to replace the tensioner and the serpentine belt as preventative maintenance, is there a preferred order to do everything in? If my original serpentine belt isn't shredded, is there something you gotta do to release tension on it to get the old one off? (Like what you gotta do for the water pump belt?) Thanks again
@@jfritz7000 sorry man just seen your comment. Did you ever figure it out?
My nigga been doing this now he viral with it 😎😎😎😎 big up yurself
Good job video me General
How many miles when it failed
Very detailed 👍👍
Brother fantastic video
Good job mate. I need to do mine also
Torque specks not listed.
Is there a service interval for the belt and tensioner? I'm at 40000 miles and wondering if I should do it preventative
I didn’t need to change mine until a oil leak that caused slippage
thanks bro good job
Thank you brother!
