I also went ahead and did both turbos too. Sprayed into the vacuum line for cold side intake (turbo 1) and directly into the hot side intake for turbo 2. Both locations should be post-MAF sensor.
Did my first CRC cleaner on a manual gear f80 s55 engine. NO SMOKE , No limp mode . Just a 5 minute shaking engine , kept it in low Rpm and drove away until engine became normal . P.S There is a slight difference in refine engine sound
My Porsche dealer tech told me several years ago the "GM top end cleaner" was the best product to use for this purpose. Must admit I have never done it. I run a bottle of techron through there once per year of so. I might think differently if I had a direct injection engine, but not sure how this would help that in any event?
@@HelpMeDIY Putting techron in the gas tank will help clean the fuel system and reduce carbon deposits in the combustion chamber. If the engine has port injection, it will also help clean the ports and intake valves, but not nearly as much as spraying into the intake.
I’m new to Beamers. (Coming from Audi) What I don’t understand is that (you probably can’t answer this) is why BMW haven’t improved this issue like other manufacturers, such as Audi, LEXUS etc.. creating a dual-injection system… a GDI but with an additional injector above the valves to give the same effect as the conventional multi port injection system to aid cleaning… not certain if the G80… Also by the way, you don’t actually need an assistant… I’d say it’s a more; nice to have. I’ve done this many times with a piece of wood wedged between the seat and the gas pedal and using the electric seat adjuster button to move it forward till you reach the desired RPM.
This isn't a "BMW" problem. It's a direct injected engine problem. Every direct injected engine suffers from this problem to a degree. VW/Audi were notorious for it. Engine manufacturers are introducing port injection (e.g., the latest generation of the B58), but this is a problem that people are going to be dealing with for years.
Hey! Me again. I just installed the mishimoto catch can. It'll fit with the dinan air box but its a squishy. I'm looking for some thinner hoses for the catch can.
Hi Aaron(Sp?) I like your videos. Just did the valve cleaning on my 2016 M3, followed all steps, got the big smoke cloud and limp mode, then nice performance. But the check engine light is still on after 2 days. Any advice? Thanks
+Kevin Ryan thanks! And spelling is correct 😉 I would check the code with a code reader (or ISTA) and then reset it. If it comes back then investigate further.
Just started my m4 this morning and when I select reverse or drive gear the car seems to jus cut out and won’t start again for a while but then eventually starts up fine but same problem cuts out again 😩🤷🏽♂️
So did you feel a more responsive throttle or any improvements? I did something like this with seafood on my Toyota a few years back. The whole neighbourhood was full of white smoke. Btw are there any alternative brands I can buy? I'm in the UK so selection is limited
+Zain Rj haven’t driven it since I did this yesterday still so I can’t say if I feel any difference. I’m not expecting to though. Car already feels amazing. Just doing this as preventative maintenance with oil changes. And yes, I think CRC was the first brand but there are others now.
Seafood? I assume seafoam yes? Is your toyota direct injection? I did mine and no smoke came out so I assume my intake valve is pretty clean (my car is gdi only). I assume driving it hard helps keep it clean but exhaust tip dirty since my exhaust tip is black due to all the carbon and soot it blew out every time I drive mine really hard.
Yes! just did works wonders man stuff is good rough idle almost gone
+PDX Supercars 💪😎
that cloud was crazy. great video and the car sounds incredible
+James Zilla thanks, I love the sound!
You're brave that you did this to the car. I wish I have the courage to do it. Good video. Thank you.
+T Ng not that brave... thousands of people have done it before me :)
Every mechanics dream comment this....😂

+Tom Thongprasert 👍
Where is that diagram
Thank you! Just did it on my F82. Really helpful.
I personally like using Seafoam 👍
+Anthony Isgro that plays :)
Just wondering what were the other 2 lights at the end of the video? Love your videos. I don't own and M4 but am saving up to buy one of the F82 M4's.
+Victor Sullivan that was the MDM (M dynamic mode) and the traction control light that reminds you it’s off when you’re in MDM 😉🍻
My M4 Smokes Exactly like this sometimes, just when i turned it back on. What could be the Reason for the Smoke ??

+Hussam Abdul good to know, thanks!
I just bought a 2021 M2C and installed OCC day one

+John Morgan yes I guess the additives don’t help GDI engines and this cleaner won’t help non-GDI engines.

+eeiko321 you’re right, I don’t know the answer. Welcome to the Bimmer life! Note that a Bimmer is a BMW car and a Beamer is a BMW motorcycle 😉

Can you show how to clean the turbos using the turbo cleaner? Thanks great content!
+Auto Fanatic Thanks! I’ll have to look into that...

+daniel leung I haven’t looked into those at all, but please let me know if you find one with a great fit!

Did you check to see what code was causing the drivetrain malfunction light to come on?
I don’t think so

You spray too much? Hopefully it clears up on its own. Keep us posted

Please give us a feedback. Did it feel any different? Did it consume less or whatever? Thanks
+Adi Nicu no and I didn’t expect it to. Just like when you change your oil 😉
My car has a EGR fault idk what that is ?? I can’t find anything on the forums help 😢
+ 🤷♂️ sorry
Did the error code come back ?
+F82 Mike nope!
You're supposed to hammer it. Used to do this on my dsm
+Solarview 🔨 😎
Blip it
+@TheRoshaun25 💪🍻
Thank you! Just did it on my F82! Really helpful
+M love hearing that! You’re welcome 😉
