This recently happened to me. I connected a standard battery charger to the terminals under the bonnet which was sufficient to power the electronic boot lock. This will save you buying a jump starter.

What is the size and tool that you are using to unscrew the bolts

what to do when that is not an option ?

Great video. I’m gonna this next week as at 60k miles current tensioner wobbles and seems to have lost tension springs. I have a belt chirp sound at idle that goes when revs rise to 1100. So all new belts and pulleys and tensioner and hope it’s not the alternator!

No it doesnt work with bmw 520 d bcz there is some another Wire which is Mounted on Top of + Sign ,then afterwards car will get power

Helped me out after a job taking a good amount of the front end off. It was like you said, the plastic piece thats part of the cable wasn't in it's place, which is why I didn't have enough tension to undo the latch mechanism. Thanks bro!

What if I lost my key fob? I got a locksmith to open the car and I’m sitting in here but the trunk button won’t work inside the car. I think the keys are in the trunk

Does this still work if the battery is completely disconnected positive and negative?

Thank you! My trunk was locked, battery dead and My seats don’t go down on my 2014 3 series so I had to jumpstart. I was connected properly but wasnt holding down the boost button to trigger power. You saved me from being stranded! 🙏🏽

Dumbest move ever for an automaker like BMW. If you don't put a key hole.you need to at least be able to open the seat to access the damn emergency lever.

Clutch move I just finished up installing my pulley kit, Belt and alternator on my e90 and this saved me thank you

Tried it and it didn't work on my 2011 F10. Maan I am sooo screwed! Even tried it with the jumper pack you have with the override. No luck.

Can you also connect it to another car to do this or do you have to use thay same device with an override button. I am trying to use a jump starter pack but it doesnt work. The one i have doesnt have an override button.

Has anyone replaced the bearings in these alternators? 2015 Sportage 237k miles, original alternator still works but the front bearing is bad.

Had my mechanic do mine and he was ready to throw in the towel a couple of times. Broke the exhaust valve plungertrying to disconnect but plastic epoxy works wonders I guess

You saved my life i used the same jump starter as you on my 420i f32 that i had my battery disconnected in the back and after forcing it made a spark and managed to click on the trunk button to open.
